- This is a comprehensive chronological list of national leaders of Ukraine since its independence in 1917, including its presidents both before and after the Soviet era, and the Soviet leaders themselves, who, unlike the presidents, were not formal heads of state. Has had only eight presidents since 1917, divided into two periods (1917-1921 and 1991-present). In between, the country was a part of the Soviet Union (1922-1991) with the name of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. On 5 July 1991, the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR passed a law establishing the post of the President of the Ukrainian SSR. The title was changed to the President of Ukraine upon the proclamation of independence (24 August 1991). The first election of the President of Ukraine was held on 1 December 1991.
Це вичерпний хронологічний список національних лідерів України з моменту здобуття нею незалежності в 1917 році, включаючи її президентів як до, так і після радянської епохи, а також самих радянських лідерів, які, на відміну від президентів, не були формальними главами держав. З 1917 року у нього було всього вісім президентів, розділених на два періоди (1917-1921 і 1991-теперішній час). У проміжку Країна входила до складу Радянського Союзу (1922-1991) з назвою Українська Радянська Соціалістична Республіка. 5 липня 1991 року Верховна Рада Української РСР прийняла закон, що встановлює посаду президента Української РСР. Назву було змінено на Президент України після проголошення незалежності (24 серпня 1991 року). Перші вибори президента України відбулися 1 грудня 1991 року.

There are many inaccuracies and inconsistencies of 1917-2020! You probably did not know that there were also such states of the Ukrainian people as Kyivan Rus, Galicia-Volyn, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Pereyaslav principality and Hetmanate (Zaporozhian Army)! Why make a historical video about a country if you don't know its history?

It was divided into many principalities with its own population and headed by their own monarchs, the only thing that united them was a single dynasty at the head, but this dynasty was strongly branched out from Volodymyr the Great, as evidenced by the eternal internecine wars! That is why in my comment, after Kyivan Rus, I began to list the principalities that were on Ukrainian soil, and which we as Ukraine are the successors!
