Hi bud. Have a similar problem with my polo. I’ve changed pump and fuses warning light and when I had a warning it was 00566 implausible signal. It’s cleared it hasn’t come back but still no power steering
So, any thing Dave Sterl’s got?? Are you going to let your hair grow then or buy a diagnostic wig Sandy 😜? Joking apart, another handy video. Those pumps do fail now and again. Anyone who’s about to condemn one, watch out for broken Can-Bus wires close to the pump connector though. You can sometimes get access to the wiring by popping out the left bumper insert where a front fog lamp would be if fitted. On some cars the new pump won’t ‘plug & play’ because part of the coding relates to the steering angle sensor location. On some cars it’s part of the airbag clock spring and on others it’s on the steering rack pinion shaft.
If the Can-Bus wires are broken you just get a no comm with Power Steering module. Not too handy as you’ll get the same if there’s a missing power feed or ground and sometimes same if module is goosed. I got one once from another garage. They asked me to code a new pump module they had fitted but there was no comms. Found and fixed the can-bus wiring issue and then coded it. Couldn’t help thinking that the module may have been needlessly replaced but I didn’t hurt their feelings over it as they bring me plenty work 😉
@Russell_Duncan hi Russell I'm currently working on one at the minute with a fault code coming up for power steering sensor short circuit to b+ . What would u recommend on this one mate as I've tested fuses, sensor replaced etc
good fix Sandy . i have topdon and i had some issues with it ,plugged it into a bmw x1 today , actuator tests cooling fan only !! and issues on other cars ! noone scanner does all eh. cheers lads
I’m behind on my videos & doing a binge to catch up. Another good fix & quite informative, thanks Sandy 🙏
Thanks Peter don't binge watch at our age u need to keep moving 😜
YEH! !!! Whats the tool he uses cheers, before he uses a basic test light he quotes £136 for tester, wondered what the tester was !!!
Thanks for documenting this, very useful.

Hi Russell I've no got enough hair compared to Dave!!!I take it u would get a CAN code if that was the issue with broken wires? Cheers sandy

Hi Robert I'm sure the snap on can only actuate the Fan and fuel pump cheers sandy
Have you got a cluttered work bench like dave sterl has. ????
Yes 100%😂😂😂
He cleared his bench recently testing an injector removal tool. Everything fell off due to vibration 😜
@@Russell_Duncan brilliant... love it
Any idea where the fuse for the washer jet is ?
Whats the tester used before the test light, the £136 tester, thanks !!!
Power probe 4 don’t buy it as reliability is terrible
@@sandyande Thanks !!!!! Was more worried about cost Vs blowing up parts, I'm carry on my £12.50 Automatic Multi Metre
