Well, I was being rather flippant before, but having watched your film I would have to say its such an amazing film, because if a person ( like me ) is going there soon, and without a car, then one would wonder where the roads went, and what could be seen, but your film shows it all in such great detail that I won't need to bother on some of the routes, and concentrate on others, so essential viewing......so the part where the tar road ends, where the Royal Arctic ship crates are and the road runs out before you turn round and went back into town..........thats the furthest south you can go by car right ? I will be re-watching this and uploading a copy to show fellow travellers on the boat from Ilulisat ( if they are keen ) so many thanks once again, Great stuff indeed.
@@DanRasmussen72 Like maybe they might have put up some road signs so that people can see what road goes to the airport perhaps ? Do they have a shortage of signs in Greenland or something, I didn't see a single one and you drove around for 80 minutes.....?
Yeah man, I worked for Greenlandic Intelligence under deep cover in Iceland. It was real Jams Bond stuff. Few people know just how extensive the Greenlandic intelligence-gathering operations are worldwide, like a well-oiled perfectly honed machine. My handler was a guy named Knut, who was the son of an Inuit nobleman. I met him in New York in 1991. It was a dark, moonless night. An eerie wind was howling like a banshee, and the temperature was like -20 Celsius but this guy was wearing just a T-shirt and flip-flops. He looked tough, and as I got to know him, he explained all the problems that Greenland was having with "slant-fishing" from other countries in the North Atlantic, and excessive tourism destroying the ozone layer. Basically, he had grown up living alone in an igloo on the open ice, listening to rap music under the northern lights on those cold, dark nights. He had once killed a humpback whale with his bare hands. Anyway, Greenland had a lot of problems besides the slant-fishing but also the mass smuggling of native Inuit walrus bone carvings, and card gambling debts. I was to go under deep, deep, cover working in a fish processing plant. My mission, should I choose to accept it, would be to save Greenland from its treacherous situation, in return for which I would get his sister's hand in marriage, and a lifetime supply of Inuit bone carvings. The training was unbelievably difficult. We practiced shooting machine guns out of a moving pickup truck at targets of penguins, walruses, and even seagulls, and I learned survival tactics like drinking water out of a moving river using just my hands. When I was finally deployed, I pretended to be just an ordinary fish-processing plant employee, and I would relay all my data every day via e-mail to Knut, like the number of pallets of fish, the dates and times they would arrive and depart, the names of all the employees participating in the operations, and even the exact measurements of the pallets the fish were going out on, down to the millimeter. As I got to know the other employees, I made the deadly mistake of accidentally saying Knut's name, and then it all came out. Most of the other employees there were also working undercover for Greenlandic Intelligence. However, after about 3 months of gruelling working condition with no pay, I told Knut that I quit. He promised he would send me all my back wages by mail, along with his sister at some later date. He also thanked me and said that my service would be commemorated with a pebble embedded in a secret portion of a sidewalk in Nuuk, and that my service was greatly appreciated. Well, that was 3 years ago, and I still haven't received any of the money, so if you happen to be reading this, Knut, just a friendly reminder, you know. And I'm still interested in your sister, whatever her name is.
No trees, no bikes, no sound, rocks and rocks, a little bit sad. But beautifull blue sky. And what about the food? Nanook would be a very nice soundtrack!
I am going in two months time, so thank you so much for the sneak peak.....I have often wondered why the Eskimos bother buying cars if their biggest town is tiny and the roads don't go more than 5 km's from the centre.....I think your video clip captured about 90% of the entire Greenlandic road system !.they would be better off on husky sledges like Knud.....was he a relative of yours or is it a common name ?

Cute. I guess. I received no actual information about Nuuk or Greenland from this, or many other videos that think it's somehow productive to just drive around. Where's the description? What are we looking at? What's life there like? Why is there no commentary? I'd love a voice over, or at least some text. Pass.

Greenland is part of the danish kingdom, so you need to be able to go to Denmark first. I don't know what the rules are on this. Ask the dasnish embassy maybe
Awesome ride, Dan; it is incredible what I have been able to appreciate. Thanks for the trip.

Makes me appreciate Florida Are trees on the endangered species list there? Thanks for the tour
Very few trees in Greenland. Only in lonely clusters in the south. None in Nuuk and north of Nuuk
