Wayne Bennett responds to speculations of a return as Rabbitohs’ coach

- Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett spoke about his coaching future, including speculation that he might be considered for a gig at South Sydney Rabbitohs.
This comes after Jason Demetriou was sacked as the South Sydney Rabbitohs coach.
The club opted to terminate his coaching contract just eight rounds into the 2024 NRL season following back-to-back losses for the club.
Mr Bennett was grilled by journalists about the speculations of his return as the Rabbitohs’ head coach.
“I made a statement the other day. Nothing’s changed since then,” Mr Bennett said during a media conference on Friday.

Yep - like the girl who said "is there an offer on the table" literally ten seconds after he said that all that had happened was that they had agreed to talk next week. My answer would not have been as polite. Obviously someone writes her questions for her before she gets there, and she is going to ask them no matter what he says first.
@@daleviker5884Sometimes, they are trying to catch the couch slipping. Asking a similar question may produce a different answer, but Wayne is to whitted. I'm sure rabbits threw something at Wayne, but nothing is official / had management review. Therefore, Wayne will not discuss.
