My cousin told me of a way on how to make this mission really easy nearly a decade ago. Make sure your rangers have the flash bang and capture upgrades. Rush the first GLA base immediately, but don't destroy all of the buildings - you're going to need the Supply Stash and GLA command center. Also, keep at least one GLA Hole around, you're going to need it. When it starts to rebuild itself, have some ranges flash bang it to kill the worker so the building progress stops and the second half of the mission won't start. There shouldn't be any hostile forces defending the base at this point so have your rangers capture the supply stash and GLA command center and start everything that you can from the GLA forces. When you've think you're well prepared, destroy the remaining GLA hole and the mission will progress. He saw how badly I was struggling trying to defend my base the first time playing and told me about that tactic.

Funny fact!! I found this out when I was like 7 but if you don't kill all the buildings the other half of the map won't load! I would cheeessseee them so hard. Take all the resources and build a massive army! Good times
They saved money by not creating a full movie for the cut scenes like they did with Tiberiun Sun and Red Alert. A very sad state of affairs. Why not do it now?
Playing Skirmish is easy . . If you playing with Brutal CPU of 3v3 or 5v5 make sure of this: US Faction: 4 Raptor to destroy Oil to make sure your enemy didnt had a lots of money and build a lots of Army China Faction: 4 Migs to destroy Oil and always kill every infantry trying to steal your or your Allied's oil . . . GLA Faction: Suicide Bomber with Technical and make sure no enemy Aircraft nearby. - C&C Generals -
this is just bad game design, the only way you can win is to know beforehand that there will be a second part. If you play fair, they absolutely do not give you enough resources on either of your sides to build a defense and set up your forces. And then when you cheat by knowing the other half of the mission, you storm into the GLA base you see they have 3 fucking sources of income on top of the black market generating 20 credits/second and you realize this is how they had an endless supply of units to throw at you "fairly". This is just horrible game design unless your entire point was to showcase the reload feature.

Just simply cheese the enemy by Capturing the Gla base across the bridge except one building. Then you must build a palace and spam Scud storms. Use those scud storms on the enemy's scud storm. There ya go you now know how to make them fall asleep. I know this comment is 4 years ago but I didn't really care, I just wanted to help.

Lost twice, didn't prepare enough on the other side of river, won when I captured the GLA base and used it as a staging base

capture the GLA'S building. and build a scud storm at our initial base. the rest is history.
