He was a vampire without a soul for like 150 yrs and did tons of bad things, then got his soul back, but he could never be back to his former self. To much had happened and he was compltely changed. As far as calling himself "Angel" I think that to a certain extent, he did want to be reminded of the past. Obviously it was very traumatic and stuff, but at the same time, he doesn't want to just sweep it all under the rug and act like nothing ever happened. He feels responsible on some level, bc even tho it's the actions of the demon, it was his body, his brain. To him, even tho looking back on all those memories horifies him now, he still feels guilty bc at the time, he enjoyed doing them. Because it's his brain which he shares with the demon, it feels like He did those things, like he was torturing and killing people. That was really long lol. I don't know if that made any sense or not, I guess I'm saying that, in the end he feels responsible and so he won't let himself forget completely. Spike actually helped save dawn, and fought a goddess, spike also legit destroyed the hellmouth. Spike saved the world more times than angel.

How many people in Buffy or Angel we have noticed have forgotten? Vampires don't breathe air and can't be strangled in a choke hold, Darla and Angel can't be strangled, regardless of either case related perhaps and yet, the number of times people forget or mention it, never ceases to amaze me sometimes or make me laugh at the idea at least.
The reason S5 was so good (IMO) was bc they removed the stupidity of Angel having a child and that child getting "Soap Opera Aged" then fuckin Cordelia. That was a shitty storyline. I just wish Cordelia was still in this season.

Astronauts win. No contest. Cavemen were somewhat robust, but they were also often malnourished hunter/gatherer HUMANS. Astronauts were born in a technological age where they received excellent nutrition and medical care. The 'typical' astronaut of the time were usually military pilots. That means that not only were they smart enough to fly rocket ships they were physically at their peak with military grade combat training. Add to this the fact that astronauts HAD to be 'devil may care' adrenaline junkies to sit atop a skyscraper sized container of explosives. I respect the emotion of Spike's argument but when measured against how both fit and dangerous astronauts had to be in the first place whereas cave-folk were just people who hunted and gathered it's shakes out to be pretty one-sided.
Ikr, wasted opportunity, he and Buffy kept doing the same dance without being in relationship, I got it, but it was repetitive, he obviously fit better on Angel

At 5:03 one of the funniest to season 5 of Angel when he was a puppet at the time, I've loved watching Angel since my childhood and when I was in high school, I find this show more humor than Buffy to be honest.
