Hey Eric, just wanted to THANK YOU and Ham Radio Prep. Singed up for the coarse last week, 2 days studying, 2 days practice tests, past the test sat, got my call sign today. Without ham radio prep I would be reading the "book" for about an hour a day and probably a month away from getting my license! Thanks Again!
@@HamRadioConcepts Hello ! Hey can you tell me what radio replaced the Yeasu 857D? I am an inexperienced Ham and it seemed like that was the radio to get. But they stopped making it. So what radio will give me Value for my money and the ability to have the features as my knowledge grows? I want minimal menu's. As stupidly simple to operate as possible. I want a Radio that is backpack portable to carry on Hikes to local Hill tops. I want to talk local repeaters and play with skip. Probably fairly soon upgrade to "General" to make contacts out of Country. Thank you and Best Wishes from Montana M.H. / KG7LOK.
Thanks for this video. I just received my call sign and the Explorer QRZ-1. Looking forward to taking first steps with it. I had been going back and forth on a ICOM 5100a vs. Yeasu FTM-400DR since both are great radios. But your comment on picture sending without the need for a $150 additional mike with camera and the slightly higher resolution capabilities really helped me decide.
Yaesu can do this over Fusion, however the camera sends pictures with less resolution than a cave drawing, so it's fun for a day, but not terribly useful

THANKS FOR COMING YOUR VIDEO I HAVE ICOM 705
Icom 705 can also send Pictures in 20 Meters,
Dam, that's pretty slick. Wow, the low quality one was FAST! Thanks for sharing Eric !
Another great vid
Hey Eric, thanks for the video. I’ve been curious about this feature
When are you uploading the latest episode?
This could replace my icom 80AD. Thanks for the video Eric.
That imagining came along way to the hamradio ops that is very cool love to try one👍
Great to see de n4mqu
Hi Eric 👋 👋 👋
Hey there
I have the ICOM IC52A D-Star HT,
Yaesu can do this over Fusion, however the camera sends pictures with less resolution than a cave drawing, so it's fun for a day, but not terribly useful
I have a 52 here in Orlando if you want to try
Yah let's do that
I have a question eric, can you send a picture Over dv mode on hf from the 705?
I'll have to try it out
Yaesu had this for many years.
I agree now. An app for the FT5 would be cool as opposed to MH85A11
if it isn't saussy jack
Thanks for the instructive and interesting video. KD4fJ
Could never get bluetooth to pair on Android but Iphone pairs just fine
App refuses to send pic because it thinks radio is in analog mode (it's not)
Had to restart app for it to realize it was in DV mode. Buggy software Icom!
For what ever reason, I can not get the app to sync with the blue tooth on the I-phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated…Blake…KB5RZM.
@@blakepresent Both sides need to be in pairing mode or it won't work. Have you tried that?
The 9700 can Send Pictures on 1.2 Ghz,
