How to calculate food portions for catering orders

    Im cooking for 150 people how many full trays do you recommend for roasted veggies and mac and cheese

      If it was my job, I would provide 5 Deep Full Pans of Mac & Cheese and about 5-6 Full Pans of Roasted Veggies. What do you think?

    I need the portion for Indian food, I’m trying to open my catering business

      Congratulations! For Indian food, it would basically be the same thing. If you are feeding 20 people, for example, and there is rice and some sort of protein. You would simply use a Medium Full Pan for the rice and another Medium Full Pan for the Protein. If you like, give me an example, and I will try to help you figure it out.

    Shalam!!!! What size tray is needed to feed 150 people lasagna? And how many tray's will it take?

      @@anitaferguson2262 That's weird I don't see my response from before when I answered your question. So for 150 People I would recommend 5 Standard Deep Full Pans of Lasagna and 5 Full Pans Salad as well. Same standard size Catering Full Pans.

    Thanks for sharing, I'm from Cambodia. I will run my first catering in next few months for 200 people, they are Chinese. They order 3 menus per times, 2 must have meat and 1 is vegetable. So what tray I should use ? and How to calculation food for one person with 3 menus of food? Thanks you

      Hi there, great question. Are you only providing meat and vegetables? I mean, will there be any carbs, such as rice or noodles?

      @@cambodialocallife8462 Okay great, if this was my job I would provide 3 Full Pans Rice, 3 Full Pans Noodles, 6 Full Pans Protein, 3 Full Pans Vegetables. But I would have servers to serve the buffet line to ensure people don't take too much food and waste it. People's eyes are usually bigger than their stomachs. I always tell the guests you can come back for seconds.

      Hi Andy, I'm not sure about kg but here in the US I always reccomend about 10 ounces per person just to be safe.
