@@GetOffset I mean, I originally thought it was going to be what released on the first of April (but am glad for what did get put out), JUST "what is even happening right now" moments
Thanks so much Emily. Needed advice on Arturia KeyStep 37 in Studio One 6 - couldn't find anything useful, so I applied your information and voila! got it straight in - thank you!
I like how you present. New Alturia user with Studio one 6. Did all The Mackie hacky stuff to no avail. Watched one of the Presonus instructor people explain in uniquely accented english I need to manually enter, as you demonstrated, the external device in the configuration menu. PLEASE NOTE. You need to add it twice. Once for in and once for out. Oh. okay. I did that and now the Alturia keylab 49 MKIII remains on my list and remains active (not disconnected) AND certain key strocks do not crash the program. YAY. Your MIDI learn moment was a full stop for my DAW boat. More to know more to grow. Thanks!
You can use it easier, if you add the controller as an Instrument first, then Add it as a Mackie HUI Control surface. Worked perfectly for me, and then you can save it to the Arturia Midi. Control center as a User preset also. But Studio one " remembers the setup also, once you do it successfully once.. Hope this helps someone..
I recently got Studio One and am learning that. I plan to get the Arturia you have, so this was helpful, thanks! Also, i see Prince in the background. 🙂
Everything works perfect for me, select "arturia" then "keylab3" or "new keyboard" then go to mixer-external-assign and map transport to transport keys on keylabs, then usign analog lab once you open the vst select "program" on the keys and everything is premapped if you go to analog lab config and select keylab mk3 much love!
If you want to use the Mackie DAW control stuff instead of just the custom mapping then in the send/receive boxes at 1:42 select the port that says MCU/HUI at the end. (If you just want to use it for soft synth control your custom mapping way is better)
Have you used it in Mackie Daw control mode? Have you found a way to control more than eight channels with faders/knobs? Can't find the next bank / previous bank function.
transport controls work fine with custom mapping, but knobs and faders... A disaster. Even using Analog lab with kl3 specifically selected in the plugin's setting page - knobs and faders on the keyboard do nothing. Interestingly, it works perfectly fine in the standalone analog lab app. Anybody has a solution, please?
Nektar is the controller I obtained for S1 my question is Once you have 'mapped' does Arturia and S1 intergrate seamlessly the next time you open up studio one, and how do you save the 'map'
spend an afternoon trying to program a device that should be plug in play in studio one, so how do you program it to work they way it;'s supposed to with all those macros? and if you have multiple computers it's even more fun
I couldn't configure those pads on the Arturia mkii in Studio One. I just got another midi controller which works great (M-Audio Oxygen Pro 25). Arturia is better for Ableton Live.
@@GetOffset I reached out to Arturia and they have a great support team. To control the transport in Studio One with the KL: -Ensure in MIDI control center app, under device settings, that Mackie is selected under DAW mode. -Return to options in Studio One and click ADD. Select Mackie. Select Control. and in Receive From and Send To, select Keylab Essential MK3 MCU/HUI. -Now on the Arturia Keylab itself, hold down Prog and hit Pad 2 (DAW Program). Record, Stop, Play, Loop, Forward and Backward should work as well as volume and pans for each track. Hope this helps some people as I was completely lost.
@@hittinskinz24 Thank you! I would have NEVER been able to program this thing until I read your explanation. Now it's working and I am very appreciative of your post.
Arturia support for Studio One is terrible. Do not buy Arturia products if you use Presonus Studio One. They are not interested and it's a massive Pain In The Ass. You'll waste hours of frustration.
I use five different midi devices, one being pioneers DJS1000 and have had ZERO issues. I’m surprised to hear this. I wonder if it’s a Mac vs PC issue.
i have this midi keyboard, but i will definatily sell it. cause im really upset with it. in Studio one it is so bad to control the channels, after 8th channel you must click one further to the other one and so on. ennoying .!!! there are so many buttons on it but believe me its just made for Arturia Analog Lab soft synth nothing else imo.
@@trevorwesterdahl6245thanks, but I sold it, cause another problems caught with midi hanging. Now I have bought Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol and Believe me I do not have any problems at all 🙂
Sorry. Not helpful. Brand New KL Essentials mk3 61 to replace a Behringer MOTO61 that had a USB connector break. Got to the MIDI Learn button and I could wiggle the faders and buttons until my fingers turned blue and NOTHING! And yes, I have had other devices, Launch Pad Pr, LaunchControl XL, Maschine MK2 and I could map them no issues. Just a PIA to have to turn to another device when I have all the controls on my keyboard where I need them. Oh well...... Yet another reason to use Logic Pro. Took about 3 minutes to setup the supplied script to get everything up and running. NOT GOOD PreSonus!!!
it's not DXD it's DX 7 a clone of super famous Yamaha synth on Frequency Modulation that changed history of sound in the 80s. just to aknowledge you with all my simpathy.
I love this because you are coming to this as a guitar player, not someone steeped deeply in synths. That is super helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
I appreciate that we get to see less glamorous moments in the "setting up" stuff videos, it puts me at ease
lol imagining if I had filmed the entire "what is even happening right now?" process

great video. I use Mixcraft but wanted to swtich to a simliar, but better daw. Its so sad that Arturia doesnt have a script for Studio One ....

Sorry, but this was a one off video.

I think this works fine
I literally have 0 problems with my Arturia Keylab mkii, V collection and Studio One 6.
god dammit
you can say this about most MIDI controllers and studio one when will they fix this shit I have to use Logic for certain things

If you watch their DAW integration video, it shows exactly how to control the channels. Its pretty good when you see how.

She called it DXV, not D. Which is the name, DX7 V.
@@runningwolf877 if that's the case it's still wrong since its VST version is DX7 V is not DXV
Won't be buying one of them then.
Got further than me..sending mine back to the shop..pile of shite!!
