Wow! Thanks for filmin/uploading this! Now I know that I can leave my worms alone for a month before harvesting and they’ll digest all their cardboard bedding. No more sifting!
It's very important to keep the moisture up. Maybe put a black plastic, loosely, over the top of the dirt.
I watched the watermelon video earlier today, that was awesome too. I have a quick couple questions though. 1. Which breed of worms are you using? 2. How many? And, 3. Are you weighing or measuring the cardboard before putting them in?
I'm so glad you enjoyed the videos! They are red wigglers. Sorry, I didn't count the number of worms or weigh cardboard I put into this set up, but I recently got a scale.
Love your videos. It’s good to know that when I miss a scheduled feeding or two, they will not go hungry.
I wonder if the cardboard castings have the same value to plants as other food sources.
I'm almost 100% certain quality food produces higher quality castings
I really enjoy your videos. Is the final product all worm castings?
Yep! I don't normally mix the final product with soil until I'm using it in the garden. But after filming, I usually pour the contents of the setup into my large worm bin in case small bits still need to be eaten. Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed!
This is amazing!
Thanks!
Yay new video!
That amazing nice video
What is the white material in the upper center? Is it mold? Curious because I have something similar in the upper layers of my Urban Worm bag.
That's the flash from my camera haha. Sorry
Mold in a worm bin isn't a bad thing in my experience. It's predigesting the food same as the bacteria before the worms eat it. Notice the worms prefer stuff that's gone bad rather than the fresh greens you put in there--that's why.
Huh, I use exactly this kind of shredded cardboard from all my Amazon purchases for bedding. Good to know I can never really go overboard on the cardboard and the worms will still be able to fully break them down given sufficient moisture.
Great video 😎
Thanks 😁
Very cool :)
It looked dry? Did you add water during?
Yes. When feeding fruits/veggies in the other videos, I don't normally add water during filming, but I had to in this all cardboard setup.
I'm actually trying that now.
Mom, during 28 days, have you ever flip the media card boards ?
better pets than dogs
I have both, while worms are good, I prefer my dog. Especially on walks.
@@trevorlucas9971 I love my worms and my dog. Without my dog, I feel lonely.
First!
