Beautiful architectures Great character development Mystery who tried to kill the major Hype walk to franky house One of the best fight usopp vs luffy Funny and enjoyable fillers Best nami design Badass speech from zoro Clearly 10/10 IMO
the crew losing easily vs aokiji, the crew discovering the gorgeous water 7 island and meeting the galley la company like paulie kaku kalifa lucci and iceburg , usopp losing the money, the walk to franky house and team beatdown, luffy vs usopp, usopp leaving, iceburg getting shot, robin leaving, luffy vs franky, agua luguna, the sea train zoro and luffy slicing through a tidal wave, robin and frankys backstories, meeting saul tom and olivia, usopps return as sogeking, shooting down the worlf gov. flag, robin's i want to live, the gates of justice opening, the accidental buster call and of course introduction to gear 2nd and 3rd...all this occured in water 7..let the record show
yeah the walk to the franky house was awesome. but unfortunately, whenever i rewatch the arc, the walk and the fight are so painful to watch since i know that the franky family become allies for the enies lobby arc and franky eventually becomes a crew mate. but the first time through, i was rooting for the straw hats to take them down hard.
the best thing about this arc was Usopp'c character development. We all knew Usopp was the weak link, but it finally shows in the series where his insecurities about not being worthy of being a Straw Hat Pirate are shown by Luffy deciding to get rid of the Merry. Usopp fearing he will just be replaced to when Luffy decides he is not worth the effort.
I'm doing a first time reading through of the manga, and I literally just finished the chapter with that scene in it... and I thought, as I saw that scene, "This is one of the coolest moments in the series so far."

Great, video man. I genuinely love Water 7 and EL. I pair the two when I say they are my favorite arcs in all of One Piece. W7 as a city is gorgeous. A great sense of style and has a unique aesthetic to it. The arc characters are great. From Kokoro to Paulie, everyone is memorable and unique. Franky is introduced and man did I love him. But by far the biggest stuff about W7 was how this arc tore apart the SH pirates. Robin and Usopp's departures were genuinely sad. Combined with CP9 and Rob Lucci; this arc alongside EL was a big turning point in all of One Piece. To where the story became more politically driven. And boy do I love it. This arc easily gets a 100% for me. A fantastic arc in my humble opinion.
I 100% agree and couldn't have said it any better. This was my first truely huge "oh shit"-moment in the anime where shit got real, the world felt incredibly vast and complex and everything just felt so mature with the moody colors, noir angles and complex plot with its crazy revelations and twists and turns (also has 2 of the greatest moments in the entire series with the farewell to the Going Merry and Robin's "I want to LIVE"-scene). The fight between Luffy and Usopp was also great, as was the CP9 reveal etc.
Azure Saiyan exactly like in Naruto manga ( I only read manga as they take less internet than anime) , they don't show any shenanigans between team 7 unlike the anime,. so I didn't really understand why Naruto took up such a fuss to get him back.
I remember really hating Franky when he was introduced in Water 7, and was certain that Paulie would be the crew's shipwright. It wasn't until after he bonds with Usopp and his flashback that I really took a shine to him. He's now one of my favorite Straw Hats.
I could understand where Usopp was coming from on an emotional level. The Going Merry was gifted by the girl he loves. With how far the ship had taken them, it could've been considered one of the crew. Not only that but up until Water Seven, Usopp had been the main member charged with maintaining the Merry. The Merry was basically Usopp's child and he was disgusted with the thought of abandoning her because she wasn't useful anymore. Just imagine convincing a father to pull the plug on his terminally ill daughter. That's what Usopp had to face.
It wasn't that the merry wasn't useful it's that the merry was incapable of carrying on further the Rest of the crew understood this but still loved and cherished the merry they didn't want to abandon her but they had no choice and Luffy made the right call as Captain
Yeah. A lot of Usopp’s intentions came from a place that really came to a forefront that lead up to the fight. I can never really get mad at Usopp about the whole thing when there was a lot that happened to him in the arc, and how he felt. It was all emotional from beginning and end. Nothing but.
This was the arc that made me see Oda as a master story teller. All the plots come together perfectly and by the end of the arc I was left wondering what will happen next.
Water 7 and Enies Lobby are my absolute favorites. I always get emotional when I think about it or see art based on it. "I want to live" has been my life quote.
This arc is iconic, extremely. It does so much for the future of the anime that without it, I don't think many of the events would've happened without it, alongside Ennies Lobby of course, these two arcs are some of the most important ones for character, and world development.
i love water 7 for making the water fun again like barate...it just adds to the show to show water..pirates live on the sea..sky island alabasta little garden syrup village arlong park and logwtown just are basic islands and don't have that edge of water to make them feel like pirate arcs..the water is a plot point
I love how the fight between Luffy and Usopp was drawn and animated. The ship graveyard given as the background which in that would is kind of a place where dreams die. The shadows placed upon each character and how intense they manged to make the comic relief character look.
My favorite arc. This was the arc that solidified my certainty that I’d finish the arc and keep reading and watching. So beautiful, so well-written, and the emotional pull and shock value of the story was so compelling! A masterclass for the series.
I just finished this arc for the first time and I gotta say that it's probably my favorite by far, like I never hated Usopp but I always felt like his character could be more and when he got dogged on by the franky crew at the beginning of the arc and he uttered the line to nami like "I cant beat them all" I connected with that so hard for some reason like at that moment Usopp was actually my favorite character and then he went on to blow my mind and break my heart 3 more times in the same arc (when he went to frankies by himself, when he dueld Luffy, and when he was trying to save the merry against CP9) the rest of the arc was just absolutely phenomenal aswell.
Water 7 is the best arc in the anime to date, imho. They really went all out with the perfect moody lighting and noir angles. The voice acting of the CP9 members is also top notch. This was also the first time (for me) that the world felt truely vast, complex and almost impossible to conquer - which fascinated me endlessly.
The moment I went from hating to absolutely loving Franky was his talk with usopp where he explains that the merry is beyond repair and answers the question about what usopp saw at skypeia
Amazing arc CP9 is so threatening and that's why they are so badass!!! And they way usopp had the balls to challenge luffy OH GOD. The way robin left the crew was terrible but it made the story more interesting. The straw hats vs the franky family is another amazing fight. *THIS ARC IS GREAAT*
when i saw the going merry’s funeral and the fact it says “thank you for letting me carry you across the seas” made me cry soooooooooooo bad, my mum said that she haven’t seen me cry like that for years, no joke lol.
i dont know how many times i cried in this saga.. from tom's story, nico robin fighting for her life, going merry saying goodbye, frankie's heartbreak with Tom's death.. its the best.. and dont forget that is so much fun too, from the adventures of fighting off the CP9, SogeKing's bad ass moments, SogeKing fooling Luffy and Chopper thinking he is a hero, so many fun moments. Its been 15 years and i still feel like im a kid whenever i remember it
Water 7 is by far my favorite arc in the series. Everything about it especially in the anime has such an incredible charm to it. The opening theme of the arc in particular, kokoro no chizu, really captures what one piece is all about, and is perfectly fitting for this arc.
Still my favourite arc to this day. I love water and therefore I love the setting of this arc. But the most important are the personal high stakes. Apart from Sabaody, this is the first and only time the Strawhat crew seems to be in real danger of breaking apart.
You have some pretty awesome videos always appreciated when they come out can't wait for for you to do the C train in the future it's kind of like my favorite can't wait
The highlight of this arc for me is the battle between Luffy and Lucci. I mean the Jet Gatling Gun had me at the edge of my seat both Dubbed and Subbed.
I said it a long time ago and I will say it again. Water 7 - Enies Lobby is the greatest arc in one piece and my absolute favorite. skypiea embodies the real allure of one piece in my opinion but my fav arc is like another level.
One of my favorite arcs of all time! I'll even put it higher than *gasp* Chimera Ant arc. Luffy vs Usopp, introducing Franky, straw hats save usopp, gear second, diable jambe, monster point, sogeking, insanely good
This arc/saga catapulted this anime into my top 5. The drama with the Merry and Usopp, who I always low key rooted for throughout the series, got me really in the feels. In fact I kinda felt like Luffy was a jerk during their drama and wanted him to get humbled lol. And the masterful intro to CP9 and the beginning of the story of what makes me care for Robin. Great stuff here.
Just finished this arc.... usopp vs luffy and going merry goodbye hit the feels the hardest in this series so far.... and imo lowkey unnoticed zoro is the rock of this group imo when the crew is lost in a way he stands firm and takes lead....and te crews KNOWS when to listen to him and it showed during enies lobby....another great showing is not letting luffy just welcome usopp back, I mean even sanji agreed with him lol....zoro really is the man luffy needs to keep him inline
I cried so damn much whenever i saw usopp onscreen. And when luffy and usopp fights. That was so sad. Im crying a little bit right now just by thinking about it....
6:42 yep! They prolly got it on, since i got a theory that sasaki might be their child. We know fishmen doesn't inherit their facial figure or the type of fish species they'll turn out to be. But after the volume cover that showed sasaki's color scheme, his color, looks and driking habits resembles kokoro but only with horns, and though we know kokoro doesn't have horns, but tom does. It might be too much of a stretch but what if?
Shouldn't we consider Water 7, The Sea Train, and Enies Lobby to technically be all one arc? It all felt to go with the same flow as opposed to Alabasta where every island felt like a new adventure. Through all 3 it's one adventure, one goal.
Nah, it's 2-4 arcs in one saga (The post Enies Lobby stuff can also be thought of as an arc of it's own). Water Seven and Enies Lobby have different themes and atmospheres, even if they are following a linear goal.
I tried to judge Water 7 and Enies Lobby separately after seeing this video, but I just can't. Water 7 would not be as great as it is without Robin's flashback (in my opinion), but Enies Lobby would have been nothing without Water 7... Water 7 is truly amazing (already the greatest arc since the beginning of the story if you don't know what's going to happen next), and Enies Lobby is even greater to read in my opinion, but this is only because Water 7 happened previously... So, yeah, Water 7 + Enies Lobby is my favorite arc of all times and I really can't see how this could change (... but who knows? The Reverie and Wano are coming so, yeah, One Piece is not over guys)
yeah..like impel down making marineford even cooler...some arcs need to be seen together...sabaody and fishman island for instance ...or punk hazard before dressrosa and zou for totland and drum island for alabasta and jaya for skypeia ..these arcs need each other to work fully..romance dawn orange and syrup village or barate and arlong park
My favorite thing in all of One Piece fandom comes from Merphy's review of this arc, where she talks about how much she loves CP-9 for betraying her. It's just such a bizarre yet totally understandable sentiment.
I can't get over how this arc basically tricks you into thinking Polly is going to become the crew's shipwright, considering we meet him first, he has an immediate personality and dynamic with the Strawhats, he had a pretty nifty Devil Fruit power _AND_ he and Luffy have that scene together, only to pull the rug out from under you and makes the character you thought was going to be the villain of the arc the member instead. I'm glad they did; I like Franky. However, I genuinely thought Polly was going to become a Strawhat.
My straw hat crew fav to least favorite (at this point of the story) goes Robin, Chopper, Sanji, Luffy, Nami, Usopp and Zoro. But even though Zoro and Usopp are lowest on my list doesn't mean I dislike them, I love Usopp's character growth, being mostly goofy but knowing when to treat things seriously, and Zoro is a badass. I just like the other characters that bit more.
GrandLineReview I was taking about the movies but yeah the book is one story. I was discussing this in terms of setup and payoff. Crew separated and left in a bad spot but determined to rescue Robin. EL is the payoff to that with more struggle.
Water 7 is kinda like the empire strikes back of one piece. The main cast just keeps getting shit after shit thrown at them until the end of the story where a glimpse of hope shines through.
The way this arc went from having franky as a very hated antagonist to him being a loved ally was genius.

CP9 arc for me
My favorite thing in all of One Piece fandom comes from Merphy's review of this arc, where she talks about how much she loves CP-9 for betraying her.
Hey, I just realized that the end of Wano Act 1 is supposed to take place at night. Looking forward to the anime interpretation!
Oh yeah, this were it’s at Water 7 is where I officially returned to the series. It was One Piece as I had always known and loved it.
I never considered this its own arc and just the first 3rd of the robin arc.
Water 7 is the best arc, and no one can convince me otherwise
My straw hat crew fav to least favorite (at this point of the story) goes Robin, Chopper, Sanji, Luffy, Nami, Usopp and Zoro. But even though Zoro and Usopp are lowest on my list doesn't mean I dislike them, I love Usopp's character growth, being mostly goofy but knowing when to treat things seriously, and Zoro is a badass. I just like the other characters that bit more.
6:42 nobody asked to hear that.
I fuckingt loved this arc. I watched it in 2 days. Bingeing it. I couldn't stop watching. This arc made me fucking cry.
COMMENTING TO SUPPORT THE CHANNEL.
Ever since Alabasta usopps been my favorite, the real vice captain
Water 7 > Enies Lobby imo
I genuinely pair the two together and are fantastic in my view.
To me, they go hand in hand. One isn't complete without the other.
Azure Saiyan I compare W7 and EL to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part one and two. Both are great but necessitate each other.
To be fair, The Deathly Hallows was one book so of course both movies need each other.
GrandLineReview I was taking about the movies but yeah the book is one story. I was discussing this in terms of setup and payoff. Crew separated and left in a bad spot but determined to rescue Robin. EL is the payoff to that with more struggle.
my favourite cp9 character is that hermit yoyoiiii guy (I love the way he goes YOI-YOII)
When I have seen this arc i wanted pauli to be a strwhat because he is so prudish in contrast to sanji. That could have been hilarious
Just finished Water 7.
Amazing buildup for the masterpiece aka enies lobby
Best arc ever
Wano arc: and i took that personally
That what made One Piece join the big leagues imo
Yeah, this is definitely where it stepped up and became the leader of the pack.
Water 7 is kinda like the empire strikes back of one piece. The main cast just keeps getting shit after shit thrown at them until the end of the story where a glimpse of hope shines through.
This arc made me sad to point where I had to take a break and comeback a week later.
