Genius rendition of Grainger' classic. I've studied Grainger's music and philosophy for 45 years, and am confident he would have appreciated the new insights Carpenter brings to this classic. The use of tempo and color changes to highlight the polyphonic lines, and the changes in mood, were brilliant. Congratulations! And to present this in a live performance was very courageous. Thank you for your artistry.
A very sensitive and well done interpretation of a very easily misunderstood piece; and a fine demonstartion that theatre organ technique is very adaptible. This guy is good!
Thanks rabit 8312 .What the heck is it that makes people leave stupid, ignorant and derisive comments? Cameron is the most incredible organist, musician and entertainer of modern times, but the critics feel compelled to make these idiotic comments as if they were the supreme, high commanders of the music world, know how something should be played, on what, by whom, where, and when. If you're so much better than him, why are your videos not showing up in the lineup, and what color should his hair be to suit you?
Excellent playing wow - this guy is soooooo talented - I would agree though this would sound amazing done by all Synthesizers in the studio or on a Pipe Organ ... all good though this kid is a genius!!!!! Cheers from Canada

It's just a different sound jeez guys try clicking a different link. The organ sounds great while he's playing The Great Fugue in G from this same concert.
Nice - but over-played. The electronic organ couldn't handle it... a shame. I'm not sure Percy Grainger would have totally appreciated this arrangement of his classic piece - as outrageous as it was.
I don't get it either... but there seems to be a general opinion in the classical organ world that anything other than rigidly following the traditional rules is blasphemy, and playing music in any way other than as intended by the composer destroys the work, insults the memory of the composer and spits in the face of tradition, rules and history. (I don't know, then, why improvisations are allowed, which by their very nature do not play exactly as the composer intended)

An interesting mix of classical and theater organ voicing, performance, and approach.

"Transpired by Cameron Carpenter"
I mean... I might have been hot in there... but he transpired a piece?
hopefully it's just a typo
LOL
I think that's exactly the intended word: "breathe through." Very Cameron! Reminds me of Richard Purvis' great "transpirations".....
For all the people who did not like this video you are fool.
You are jealous because GOD did not gave you that marvelous tallente
>>>foool
maybe you need your ears cleaned out - this guy interprets the piece perfectly
Cameron is a very fine organist. But I must say, I am not excited with the sound of this digital organ.
Don’t worry, I’m almost certain he wasn’t either...
its a digital organ from Rodgers.
pazzesco...
AMEN TO RABBIT8312!!
I dont understand the reason for discourse here. He did a great job performing a great liece of music. Take it at face value and leave it

Fabulous playing as ever, but the ugly tone of the electronic organ is a joke!
