  • This video will show you how to remove the rear tail light (outer) from your Audi A4, S4 or RS4 (B6 and B7).
    This is performed on a B7 Avant, but the B7 saloon and cabriolet is very similar (as is the B6 Avant, Saloon and cabriolet) and so this video can be used as the basis to remove the rear tail light from all models.

    Thanks for the video, very helpful . I changed my brake light bulb in 10 minutes thanks to your vid. One add, instead of a flat blade screw driver, if you have a 17mm hex drive to fit the socket on the big plastic headed bolt, it makes removal very easy indeed

      Hey there! Glad you found it useful :-)
      Yes, if you have the 17mm hex then absolutely get it in there! It's a pretty big hex however, and not many 'standard' tool kits will have one of those, but agree 100% it's better than the screwdriver if you do have one!! :-)

      Thanks for the dimensions. I was doubtful if it's 19mm or 17mm.

    Are you still going? These brilliant videos for B7 seem to be 6-7 years old?

    The plastic screw on my right side is damaged. Cant get any grip on it. Tried it with bits designed for screws with damaged head. Didnt work. Any tip?

    Thanks! This is a great video! Just wondering if a 2017 a4 (B9) is following the same instruction? Trying to replace my right tail light.

    Your videos are superb. Was very helpful. For some reason I constantly have my rear bulbs go out... i have suspicion that water might be getting inside the housing. Is this a common issue in the s4 b6?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  6 лет назад

      Thank youy - much appreciated!
      Yes, it can be quite common. Usually you will see this by condensation in the lens, often most visible in the reverse lens as it's clear.
      You should check the rear seal around the bulb plate first to make sure that is seated correctly. Assuming it is, then check for condensation, and if needs be remove the light and have a good look inside from the rear and tip it back and check for any water.
      Best of luck!

    Can you tell me..or post a video about two things..
    1. How to change xenon bulb (oem). not the headlight.. just the d1s bulb...
    2. How to remove or just apply the screws on a audi a4 b7 (salon)back plate behind the back passangers.. when i listen to music louder..it vibrates(the subwoofer). it s a bose audio line...
    Thank you very much!!!!

      Hey there!
      Thank you very much - glad you're enjoying our videos!
      From memory, I believe that the headlight must be removed to change the main bulb. I may be wrong on that, but pretty sure for the B7 model.
      Do you mean the subwoofer screws are rattling? If you remove the speaker grille cover within the parcel shelf then you will be able to access the screws and tighten them up.
      We do not have plans for these two video's just yet, but we have a LOT of content coming!!!

      ..so..how can i remove the speaker grille cover within the parcel shelf? :) can i simply..pul it out?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  7 лет назад

      Yes, it just pops off. From memory the front edge pops up and rear edge has hooks, so comes up then forward. That is from memory though...

    Just replacded brake bulbs with led...brake light fine...before brighten for brake...tail light pulses. ..why?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  4 года назад

      Because it's LED :-) LED bulbs can cause various issues on cars not originally designed for them. You can get CANBUS-friendly bulbs which should stop them throwing a bulb out warning. But the LED bulbs can behave differently, including twinkling when first switched on, pulsing as you have seen, etc. Will be the bulb, and you can have a bulb from one company that acts odd, and then another made by someone else which works fine.

    Great but how does this work on an A4 B7 Limousine?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  6 лет назад +1

      When you say Limousine do you mean the saloon/sedan, or an actual Limo?

      Total Technik
      I have an Audi A4 B7 Limo and I am very interested to know how to remove the complete original tail lights (also fron the trunk) to use LED taillights.
      But I don’t know how to remove the originals.
      This would be great if you can make a video. ^^
      (Limousine is the german word for Limo: thought this would be the same than in english)

      This video is for the B7 saloon/sedan. On many original build labels they refer to the saloon model as a Limousine, which is what I assume you have? Rather than a stretched Limousine?

    • @PapaBravo198
      @PapaBravo198 6 лет назад

      I mean the normal A4 B7 (not the Avant). Yep, the sedan.
      How can I remove the taillights?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  6 лет назад +1

      Ok, you can watch this avant video first as the process is very similar, but then also watch the B6 saloon (sedan) removal video as well, which is here:
      ruclips.net/video/OjxYO9n5FrQ/видео.html
      Between those two video's you will have all the info you need to easily remove the B7 saloon/sedan rear light :-)
      We hope that's useful for you.
