    Im a Strictly C4 guy and have had 6 or 7 myself. My current prize is a Z51 88 Dark Blue 4+3. I have a stage 2 cam, headers, zero smog or emission parts, C6 competition wheels. My next idea is to go to 3:53 or 3:72 rear gears. I'll be following to see where you go with yours. Good luck

      I do love the c4 generation! I have been intrigued with the 4+3 feel compared to a six speed. My goal is eventually eliminate all smog and emissions as well! If you don't mind me asking did you replace your exhaust headers or just plug the holes from the piping? I have heard the rear gear upgrade is worth the money and time. Thanks for watching!

      @@BobDammeyer how’d you get away with no smog parts lol

    The mismatched paint might mean its original since the bumpers tend to fade differently than the rest of the car because they're the only parts not made of fiberglass. Looking forward to seeing C4 content.

      Never thought about that makes sense. Eventually I like to get it all matching! Thanks for the comment and hope you enjoy the videos!

    hi, interesting optioned car. im guessing its just a base suspension car with sport seats. can you check the rpo sticker for fe7,? doesnt look like it has fx3 which means it shouldnt have z07

    • @vikingtrad3r
      @vikingtrad3r Месяц назад +1

      also, for the rms, be sure to get one that is coated with that brown viton around the metal ring. i had to redo my 89;s because it leaked around the outside of the uncoated metal ring. rtv would have worked on install.
      also what are you doing with your old clutch? is the engagement point high up on the pedal stroke?

    • @RustBeltRacing
      @RustBeltRacing  Месяц назад

      Hi! Thanks for the questions and advice on RMS! Definitely is a very odd optioned car! No package code for fe7. Just base Fe1 suspension if im reading everything correctly! For the clutch it currently has a very high engagement point. Planned on a standard stage 2 clutch. I know some people love doing the clutch conversion on them but on the fence!

      @@RustBeltRacing on the factory setup, engagement point high on the pedalstroke is from a worn friction disc. ive replaced 5 clutches and all they needed was a new friction disc. as they get worn, they get thinner, and the clamping force is less and less, so barely any movement (seperation) is needed to seperate the pp and the flywheel. So, if you are on a budget OR just want to hit the easy button, all you need is a new clutch friction disc. used to be able to buy them on ebay for $60, havnt seen any for sale in a while. they are a solid clutch disc with no springs,
      i run my cars hard on the track and i like the factory dmf setup cause i know it works. smf conversions seem like a crapshoot. the ram clutch conversion is the only way id go if i wasnt keeping it stock.

      Thank you for the advice! I had an 85 c4 years ago but that was an auto so still learning the 6speed. Ill look into the friction disk if it could save some cash to put into other areas of the car!
      I was looking at the Ram conversion and it just is out of my price range.

    #1 Mistake. Never take a C4 into a car wash. It could have destroyed the Optispark

    • @RustBeltRacing
      @RustBeltRacing  Месяц назад +1

      1991 are non-Optispark so no need to worry on that.

    First off,stop calling vettes cheap because their not,doesn't matter if the person sold it you for $100,you will still spend over $18,000 to get it back mint and running proper.

    • @RustBeltRacing
      @RustBeltRacing  29 дней назад +1

      Appreciate the comment but hate to say. C4 Corvettes tend to be called cheap corvettes for a reason because you can buy a running and driving one for 4,000. i bought my old one for 1800. which is cheap for a fun old sports car. Calling them cheap isn’t a knock to the car it’s just the truth. Still one of my favorite corvettes and I recommend them to anyone.

      @@RustBeltRacingI agree i bought mine a few yrs back for $4k 96 LT1 polo green. C4s range from $3-7k in my area with some going between $11-16k if they have very low mileage and well restored or original condition but that is not the norm. Im putting mine up for sale and will be priced under $5k. They are priced cheap. But still fun to drive and enjoyable. BTW I'm selling mine cause I found a stick.

      Wrong. You can get a C4 in great condition cheaply, especially considering what you're getting for the money. Even if they need work, they made nearly 400000 of them, so parts are plentiful and inexpensive.
