wow, what a finale. The top 32 was a huge upset to the system, as big hitters and contenders went out, but great surprises all the way up. I am not the big fan of Chelsea, but it was heartbreaking to hear about his retirement, combined with his bad luck with the car, being close to m loose the championship. This was well deserved, big congrats. Also for Odi and the Machine, we hope you will be better after that big accident, and Happy Bday.
Denofas 32 run was insanely skilled for beeing down the power you can see how calculated all that was. Congrats to the championship. Dman sucks that vaughns car failed :( he had it in the pocket.
Nothing better than going out on top. super happy for Chelsea and RTR they had a Historic season, 3 out of 4 drivers got a win, won 5 out of 8 rounds. Absolutely insane. Also low-key gutted for Matt field to go out the same way two years in a row. He's going to get one though. It's coming
Fd is not about speed, if that's what you want james should have won the event with almost no left foot braking, but nick lead was insane, and in fd the lead is 66% of the battle.
@@connorjosephson2931 what he lost in proximity he made up for in stability, and you can't argue that he didn't provide a chasable lead for odi. Odi could have sacrificed a foot of proximity and not have 8 corrections but that is difficult to do in a faster car. That's drifting on this level for you. Lead for lead there is no question who got it.
What a way to cap off 20 years of FD. The drama with Denofa's championship hopes, the damage to dean and his car, the excellence of Noback. Amazing event and super happy for Nick.
3:51:19 I corrected what everybody tought while Laurette was interviewing Noback. -Loocking at tonight, whats working for you? -Noback: I'm going so slow they can't stay behind me! Thats great! smh...
BUT every "gripped up" car missed the start of oz1 just about every run. Including Odi in the final battle . Nick got a 93 quali #1 because he road oz1 completely. Also Chris and denofa both talked about the cars needing to chill with the crazy grip and free the cars up more. Rewatch and all of the rocket ship cars were off the start of oz1.
@@3eyesopen877 That's fair, for sure. I wasn't talking bad about Noback, just commenting on the way the judges might try to bring back some more realistic grip/power levels. Speed is super entertaining but if they can't make it work, then it's gone too far.
@3eyesopen877 noback was sandbaggin plain and simple. He had no problem keeping up when he was in the chase. It was strategy and it worked. But definitely was intentional. Time his "Qual" with all his leads. He's a good few seconds slower.
@DeficatingBum not on oz1 every "fast" car was missing oz1 he got gapped. He only gained proximity after inner clip 1. Say what you want but he filled the zones better. Faster or slower fill the zones.
That inside clip is coasting the lead to completely change the angle, which means if your on the door of someone in the chase, the lead is actually turning into the chase.
@@formuladriftwhen so many cars crash behind you because you decided to have a loose set up in comparison to every other car you’re the problem , half his competitors didn’t even get to lead
I will say his set up worked for him and he did qualify #1 for a reason but at a certain point it’s a safety issue when the rest of the competition runs differently
Stop trying to run away and fill the zones correctly
Im sure deane will drive for rtr, I don’t think he will switch team for next years fd. Idk maybe Vaughn will drive a full season. I doubt Adam gonna drive
It has to do with the fact that the audience is young and with high rates of success for work in the military, so the AF markets to demos where that is likely to occur. And we also live in America where celebrating your country is part of the culture and integrated into every sporting event in the US.
Noback sandbaggin every time in the lead but has no issue following and keeping up in chase with "faster cars" it was smooth strategy but when RT can't even keep a smooth run behind you your not flowing fast enough.
So Deane's chase against Odi was basically the same as Nick but way closer and still lost. With that in mind i don't understand how Nick got the win over Odi there...
Ok, so Odi on his lead took a mid-line on arguably the most important part of the bank, and yet while doing that, Nick adjusted and got on his line. It is true Odi's proximity was better overall, but with also more sacrifices. He surges and loses fluidity and angle at least twice, with the biggest one being done on the last inside clip, so while he did have better overall proximity in his chase, Nick did better with both the lead and chase driver responsibilities and that is why he got the run. I do think though, it was very close to a OMT.
Nick won by being so slow to the point of being unchasable. He only won because of the inbalance between the level of cars. Not a win to be proud of thats for sure. almost everyone he went up against absolutely smoked him in the lead
Almost everyone in FD could put together a 93+ run if they just loosened up their car more but that is easy and requires very little effort, the challenge is what makes it fun to watch. If i wanted to watch guys run 60+ psi and drive for "fun" i'd go to a local event not formula drift. @@3eyesopen877
Circuit race and try to keep up and work on perfect suspension 👌 you'll end up drifting chasing first smash that accelerator too hard to early and yeah you're sideways
How Aurimas was way better than Nick If you see this championship again you'll see that What Aurimas did vs nick was what James Dean did against VS karnage. But seems James is fans favorite he had to win and Aurimas have done similar job in all outside zones but still did not manage to win. Come on FD
With all those quick cases of drift loss.......after scraping off all the years of rubber from the track....it really seems to have been a less than optimal cleaning IMO. It's not broke, DON'T fix it Irwindale.
I don't believe Olsen beat Dean. This whole slow car with fast cars, needs to stop. If you don't have the power, go to pro spec. It's that simple. Yay, a super slow car, made it hard as fvck to chase him, and multiple cars were wrecked because of it.
Dean got knocked out by odi, who in fact has one of the fastest cars on the grid, this doesn’t make sense, and there’s not a single car on the grid that isn’t pushing close to 900hp
The way Deane has been driving tonight, he will be a monster next year..

Nick's chase didn't warrant the win I'm surprised how unanimous and quick it was decided he was the winner?
