- I get invited to help team redbull crew in long beach for conor shanahans debut in formula drift! this experience was something to remeber! the whole crew did everything possible to ready the drivers for competition. controlled caos is what comes to mind when things get crazy in the pits, follow along as the season progresses!

FD longbeach was insane! Connor was killing it! It was definitely a big upset with the call from the judges. I was certain connor waa going to at least get a podium

it sounds like your wheels are rubbing on the dino 1:43 are you doing a burn out on the metal right there in front? 3:00 get this guy some clamps before someone gets hurt. do you build race cars or are you building tree forts?

I really don't know why they decided to take out strengthening as an incomplete. Having a lead car strengthen while you're on his/her door can lead to a serious crash. If they didn't change the rules that would have been a chase to lead run for the second half and conner would have gotten the win. But i really didn't like the call they made even tho they said they're judging without recalls nor protest or influence from teams. But glad to see this indept side from the mechanics view.

Tuerck would have been fine if connor didnt bounce and hit his front, tuerck was not as deep as connor and tuerck is a very experienced driver. In the end, they should have called the debeading since the top 32 run and connor would have automaticaly lost that run. Which by the way i hate that debeading rule because it has taken out some drivers that im rooting for. I guess its a learning experience not to run the psi so low.
Conor didn’t go as deep as you may think. But we get your perspective. It was wet on the second lap and things happen. Also our tire pressure wasn’t low that day by any means. Things happen and that’s drifting.
I went back and re-watched that part of the battle from FD live with the different cam angles. Tuerck was definitely to deep unless he had some magic grip tyres on that corolla. 😂
@@johnjoseph3908 no he wasnt. Play it frame by frame, tuerck rear tire completely cleared the wall compared to connor, if you are an FD fan and really know about these cars is thats they completely absorb the hits in the back bumper. You can see it clear as day playing it frame by frame
@@TANDEM-REWIND yes he did go deep, his rear completely bounced from the hit and hit tuerck front. That means wether it was the wheel or whatever strong structure in the trunk hit the wall struck the wall hard enough to make it bounce from impact. In the end if youre on connor side obviously youre not seeing his mistake and tryina blame FD for not allowing him a sight lap, i can understand that but if you really go by the book, connor should have been already out with a debeaded tire accident or not. Rules are rules. And Dont come and say he didnt go deep when the rear bounced off like that.
There is no blame placed anywhere in this video. All the video was doing is placing a perspective of what it’s like being in the pits working as a mechanic and how the events took place in the moment. Not everyone knows the rulebook and all the details that go into this sport. Just trying to simplify how the event turned out for us to anyone new that was watching and not sure what took place. Not here to stir any speculations In any direction, we all love the sport 🤘🏼
