Hey guys! Have you seen my new video for hooded eyes? I show you how to do 2 different techniques for hooded eyes using colour to make your hooded eyes POP!! ruclips.net/video/YeBsSOOxW6w/видео.html
Not gonna lie... at the start of the video all the way up to where you put the brown shadow on your “bad eye,” I legitimately did not know you had brown eyeshadow on that eye lol I was wondering why you only used that white shadow on it with liner 😂 I actually stopped the video and went back to see if I was imagining things or you really didn’t have brown on in the beginning... but alas you definitely did! I’m gonna have to try this dome shape!!!
I'm sixty years old and I just love your videos. I had cystic acne for years, so I now have to deal with scars, texture, combination skin and wrinkles to boot! I've always had sort of hooded eyes, and as I age, it progresses. Your solution is wonderful! The "dome" shape changed my makeup! I can use less makeup, and more muted colors and still achieve the goal. Thank you, you talented, lovely young lady!
Patricia Back me too. Same age. I've never worn makeup except for mascara and eyeliner when I was young and I'm so frustrated with what products I should use and of course how to use them effectively. Man, eyebrows, hooded, foundation, concealers for dark circles. Its all crazy. I will try the dome look tomorrow. Thank you for your honesty.
Ik!! I rarely watch do's and don'ts videos, because they are usually so dramatically exaggerated. Like, everybody knows you're not supposed to do your makeup like a blindfolded 4 year old. The don't look to Stephanie remind me a lot of something I would wear back in the days when I was 14. It's actually very realistic!
I actually wish people would do dos and donts on their "bad eye" Stephanie does this too. Like doing the "do" part on the "bad eye" to see how you could make your "bad eye" look good because of course the "good side" is going to look better and be easier.
I have hooded eyes and get a lot of comments about my eyeliner! I appreciatte that you made that comment about makeup being subjective. I do follow these eyeshadow tricks to open up my eye but when it comes to my eyeliner i like to make my eyes rounder and a little droopy. Sooooo many people just don't get that not everyone likes the same kind of eyeliner/eye shape lol Thanks for maaking a real video with a REALISTIC wrong side.
I also have hooded eyes, and the only way I can make them look rounded and alert is by applying Korean makeup tricks, which tend to focus more on the area under the eye, rather than above. Does it make my eyes look 'droopy'? Not at all.
Thank you so much for these tutorials and dos and don'ts for hooded eyes! You saved me so much money on my prom and actually reeeally got me interested in doing makeup again (after I got frustrated that nothing looked good on me until I realized that the stuff I've been doing wasn't for my eye shape ) so thank you again and lots of love from Germany!
@@tini96 no we don't ( I'm German by the way xD) but most school have a event planned for the students who graduat called "Abschluss Ball" ist basicly Just a more formal party sometime there is pair dance sometimes not, every school decides for them selve what they what to do. But for us Germans it's just easier to say prom XD
Yasss.... MORE!!! Us hooded ladies need more of these videos, more looks, everyday, neutral, glam... bring it on! I have the dreaded puffy & droopy hooded eye, no wings for me :(
I've watched a lot of dos and don'ts for hooded eyes, and got lost with a lot of them. Your technique is much simpler and this video is so clear and concise. Really helpful thank you 💖
Stephanie Lange honestly so helpful! I've tried your technique and it's really easy and it works. I feel like I can wear eyeshadow AND be able to see it now! X
Gonna be honest, your “bad eye” looks a lot bigger. Making the eyeliner a bit thinner and bringing the eyeshadow up higher and only applying dark shadow under the eye about half way will give a similar look and still be flattering.
I usually just do my top liner thin, but still with a nice sharp wing, bring my eyeshadow io higher then the crease always and smoke that out and under my eye. But I also still do the highlighting under the arch of my brow and in the corners of my eyes.
Jesus, that makes such a huge difference, it's like heaven & hell. It really goes to show you the power of makeup to highlight and disguise...or completely butcher one's natural beauty. Thanks Steph!
You are my beauty go to girl! I seriously look for your videos on here more than Jaclyn hills. I love everything you stand for and love all of your vlogs and seem like an all around amazing person! This world needs more people like you! I get so happy when I see you have uploaded a new video! 😀
I've been interested in makeup my whole life but it wasn't until I watched your hooded eye tuts that I understood why I wasn't getting the result I wanted. Thank you so much (and for introducing me to Makeup Geek!).
are there hooded eye shapes that look good with bottom thick eyeliner? I started doing that; thought it looked good on me but now I think I may be biased and need an objective viewer :( lol
What do you do if you have hooded eyes but low eyebrows? I always think it's a good idea to take shadow higher but I run RIGHT into my eyebrow. What do you think?
Stephanie, I live in the US. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this and your doomed shaped tutorial. This is THE BEST tutorial I've ever seen on makeup for hooded eyes and the most simple yet comprehensive tutorial!!!! I'm 60 and appreciate that you also show this method on mature eyes as well. I've been a subscriber for many months and thoroughly enjoy your videos! Congrats on over 1 million subscribers! I usually never comment on videos but you need to know HOW MUCH I appreciate your techniques and honest opinions. You have an excellent presentation presence and provide simple but thorough videos! Best of luck to you! And THANK YOU for your knowledge by answering my questions exactly as I'm thinking it! Amazing. 👁👁
I hold my brows up too lol! Not even on purpose, just a habit. I love your hooded eye videos/all your videos. I also love the fact that over the years you have always remained the same chick. You have remained someone relatable, grounded and humble, thank you!!
What does that mean to hold them up? Like... with your finger for a photo? Or with some sort of tape/contraption up behind hairline? Lol I want to know if there’s a product out there I could be using.
Just here to tell you this in case you haven't heard it today or you need to: you are beautiful, you are smart and you can handle whatever life throws at you💞
FINALLY someone with actual hooded eyes. My eyes are just like yours. So glad I finally found a youtuber with my eye shape. Thank you so much! Can't wait to try it out!
I have watched several videos on hooded eye and I have to say, this helped more than any of them I have watched. Doing both eyes different really showed the difference, thank you!
Ughhhhh where has this information been my whole life?? I've been so frustrated copying techniques that I see and them not having the effect that I want and thinking it's just because I'm not doing it right. I'll be watching all of these hooded eyes tutorials!! Thank you so much for putting this out there!
Thank you Stephanie, for explaining so simply and so clearly how to work with hooded eyes. I am in my 50s and only really wear make up on special occasions. Yours was the best tutorial of all the others I’ve watched on how to camouflage hooded eyes.
I love that you're so genuine and keep coming back for that refreshing personality alone even if I don't have hooded eyes. Plus your voice is so relaxing and pleasant
Hey Stephanie! I'd love it if you could teach us how to do a cut crease. My eyes are very hooded and I have little space under my brow, so I feel like a cut crease could possibly work well for me but I've no idea where to start, but I've always found your explanations really helpful!
OMG Steph! When you do them side by side, it makes so much sense. I have learned so much from your hooded eyes videos. I've got a ton of space between my eyes and my brows but they droop and one eye is worse than the other. Time to practice!!! Also, I was thinking about suggesting that you make more step by step educational videos. Sometimes I miss the simple steps that the more crucial ones. 🤦♀️😜
Happy that stephanie Lange is a natural girl! She doesnt try to change her natural face with surgery but instead teaches us tricks and hacks for the features we were born with! Other influencers started this way, but the second they got money- they fixed all the “problem” areas that made them who they are! Ppl follow influencers because they want someone who looks like them and can teach us hacks and tricks to embrace what we alrdy have. Once u get rid of what made u famous- it almost feels like all that “love your x features” (ie. “Love your small lips. Love your X eye shape. Love your round face”) was all a lie. The worst is they basically tell their followers that that one feature that made them relatable to their particular viewers (ex. Ppl with hooded eyes tend to follow and watch makeup tuts with the person having that same feature) that its ugly and should be hated and the second u get some money-- FIX IT.! Which breaks my heart and im surprised more followers arent upset by this! It reminds me of all those influencers who had thin lips or barely there lips and taught ppl to embrace it and hacks to make them bigger….. and then go out and get fillers :(. I know its their body and their choice…. Just sucks. Feels like there are less and less influencers with facial variations to follow.
Since i first saw this technique(dome shape) years ago ive always done the same daily including he eyeliner only in your water line.. i used to love the winged liner look until my hoods got too heavy so for that effect - after doing the water liner i add 3 individual cluster lashes to just my outer edge of my lashes gives you the cat-eye effect still - love your work Stephanie as always xx
You're so gorgeous and I'm obsessed with watching all of your videos even though I don't use a lot of makeup or anything but you've really gotten me interested in it and I've been trying out new things cause of you! You make it so much easier than other youtubers! Thank you! ❤️❤️
Thank you! Finally someone who didn't make the don't eye so dramatic! This was truly helpful and I can greatly see the difference much better than if you tried to make it look bad.
I always wondered why applying shadow to my lower lid never looked good, when it looks great on other people. It dragged down my eyes and made me look like I never sleep. Also, my upper lid shadow never looked good because it would either disappear on my lids, or else I'd apply too much and turn my eyes into black holes. I always assumed I just sucked at applying shadow, but I now realize I have hooded eyes and use your techniques with greater success. Hooray!
Love it! Actually would make a very bold look that I think would be cool to combine the two sides, with adjustments. Winged but much thinner on the inner lash lines, and use a deep grey for the lower lash instead of black.
I have "I'm 57 years old and have extra skin on my lid" hooded eyes. Thank God for your technique videos, By doing what you show us and following it along, it really takes away and hides that droopy, extra skin look. I never thought I'd live to this age, let alone still be wearing makeup, I hadn't planned on having to figure out what to do with my old, crepe-y looking eye lids. Between your videos and a good, tightening eye cream, it sure helps! Thank you!
Hi Stephanie Thank you for this tutorial...I also have Rosacea ..so your tips are excellent! I love listening to your voice...clear & precise and nothing beats an Aussie accent!! Keep up the good work and thank you
I've never commented on a video before, but I felt like I had to here because this video and that dome technique just changed my makeup game forever! I'm new to makeup and have been experimenting first with shadows (not brave enough for highlighters and contouring yet, AH!). I do all this work and as soon as I open my eyes, POOF! It's gone right under my hood. I had never heard the term "hooded eyes" and, as you pointed out in another one of your videos, most RUclipsrs are doing the same tutorials over and over again. I would have been doing this for years to come if I had not seen this video. Thank you for taking the time to explain what you are doing and why! I really LEARNED a lot from you. I would love to see more videos like this in the future. Hitting SUBSCRIBE now!
Excellent video ! Your educational videos are the BEST!!! I have many saved for reference! Love you vlogs too. It's so nice to learn more about you .💜💜💜💜💜💜
So grateful! I am horrible with applying eyeliner, 'cause I have a slight tremble in my hand. This technique with the black eyeshadow is definitely a life-saver for me, thank you so much
I had never heard of make up geek before your videos. I love that you use a make up brand the is affordable for us regular people. A lot of people use brands that i'd love to use but i can't justify their prices.
So helpful! Thanks for explaining why you should/shouldn't do certain things. It has really helped me a ton in the few times that I actually do my makeup x) Thanks Stephanie
I really appreciate that you do so many videos on hooded eyes. In the past I've always wanted beautiful eye looks but could never achieve them. That is until I started watching your channel and did the things you suggested. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!! xoxo
I have hooded eyes, but i kinda liked the “Don’t” look more then the “Do” look, as you rightly said makeup preference is subjective to each individual 😊
I'm glad you didn't make the dont eye exaggerated bc I did a lot of what you do on the dont side but seeing it side by side with the do eye really helped me realize why not to do it without being way to dramatic 😘
Omg u are a fkn genius steph....much much MUCH love to u!!! Im a beginner and u are helping this 40 yr old chic come out of her shell so much more!!! Thanks!!!
WOW! Stephanie, you rocked it! I have your features and sometimes when I do my eyeliner thick with pale shadow, I take on a whole different look.. You are beautiful!!
I have been doing everything wrong! Well not everything but a bunch of things and now I know why sometimes my eye makeup is looking not so great some days. Thank you!
I love that you do a done shape! Everyone else recommends that you do a straight shape for hooded eyes. Everytime I do that I look like one of the girls from a Robert Palmer video.
Thank you soooo much Stephanie for ALL your hooded eyes videos! I have very hooded eyes (puffy) and your dome shape technique is the only one I have found that really helps me out. Is there a chance you could do a hooded eyes tutorial with more lively colors like rose gold or warm shades? I love these neutral looks but I'd also like to see some variety in the shadow colors as well as their use. For example, most of your hooded eye looks are simple easy looks for everyday use (work, school...). Can we see more elaborate tutorial using shimmer shadows, etc? THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!!!
I've been putting black liner on my water line forever and people always complimented me while looking at me like I'm insane for "poking myself in the eye like that." I feel vindicated! The one I use is Revlon color stay in blackest black. I find that ones I don't need to sharpen (i.e. That I can twist up) don't make me feel like I'm risking an eye splinter :) Thank you for your hooded eye tutorials, I really do find them helpful (especially since I'm a grease slick as well)
This is VERY good!! I have hooded eyes and don't wear eyeshadow because it never works. Im going to give this a try. Thanks so much for your thorough demonstration!
You always make your tutorials so so simple but with so much info! I'm so bad for slapping on a wing and not bothering with shadow 😅 will definitely be trying your technique! Hope you're doing well Stephanie! ✨
You are so beautiful! Thank you again for the hooded eye help! No one on RUclips has as many helpful tips on hooded eyes as you do. Thanks again sweetness!😁❤️
Wendy taylor Thanks Stephanie. I'm 57 and this is the ONLY makeup tutorial i have watched from beginning to end. How i wish i knew this 20 years ago lol. You explain things beautifully. A really enjoyable video. I'm going to see if you have any others😁 even us old ducks like to learn new tricks x
I think the "don't" side just needs the shadow to be brought up in the dome shape you mentioned and then it's good 🤷🏻♀️ lol Maybe change the bottom color to match the lid color too but the very least is just bring the shadow up more. Great video!
Actually, not just that. The liner is waayyyy too thick for hooded eyes. I have hooded. I do winged liner sometimes (not my fav) but thick lines like that make them look much smaller, even with proper shadow applications
☺ I was thinking that exact same thing as kindra..... take the soft brown from the do side and run it on crease and soften under eye with same soft brown ...too much dark under and which draws the attention downward. I do love ur videos !!!!! ❤
Hi Stephanie, I really like your videos and your hooded eyes eyeshadow tutorials are amazing. I also have hooded eyes, and I agree with your eyeshadow tricks, but in terms of the eyeliner, actually I think that the left eye looks sexier. It is again subjective but I think you don't have to completely give up eyeliner, you just need to make sure the line on the top lid is not as thick, and neither it should be thick on the lower lid. But you can totally keep the flick because it will make your eye look longer and as a result bigger in my view. As I said I have hooded eyes and doing a flick for me works very well, when done with a thinner line of course :)
I guess if you apply eye shadow exactly the same as she did on good side and apply the winged liner with nude pencil on water line as it opens up the eyes. Follow eye shadow from good side and eyeliner from bad side.. I do it all the time. hope this helps.
WOW AWESOME VIDEO!! i have ALWAYS been bad at putting eyeshadow on!! even though I watch a ton of tutorials ....but one thing I JUST realized today is that I have hooded eye lids!!! I went to google how to put eyeshadow on with a flap on my lid hahahhaha!!! and then i came across this video!! it was Wonderful!! thank u for the tips!!! I did not even know this was a thing and had a name LOL!!! I also absolutely LOVE how you talk about your products before your video cuz u probably always get questions about all of it haha...so thats a GREAT idea!! no other video that I have watched makeup tutorials on has ever done that, so SMART THINKING HUN!! I can't WAIT to watch more of your videos!!!
Hi Stephanie! My struggle is that I have hooded eyes and very low brows, so there's just not much space to work with (my lashes pretty much touch my brows when my eyes are open). The only thing that seems to work is liner on the upper water line, with a very light eyeshadow color on the mobile lid, and a crease color in the outer corner only. I'd love to have some other tips so that I don't have to wear the same look every day. Thank you so much for your videos!

Thank you!
I love when she talks about hooded eyes. She's just extremely informative and fun
Hi Stephanie
Thank you for this tutorial...I also have Rosacea ..so your tips are excellent!
Yay for new videos! I am a eyebrow lifter without knowing it as well 😂You're amazing, Steph!!! Hope you're having a great day!!!! 💕💕🌻🌻
Thank goodness just about every video like these are extremely exaggerated!! You done awesome!!
Excellent video ! Your educational videos are the BEST!!! I have many saved for reference! Love you vlogs too. It's so nice to learn more about you .💜💜💜💜💜💜
I love that you said you have permalifted your eyebrows with your face muscles! I do the same thing !
You are my favorite utuber! You are so good at makeup! Love your real personality! 💋✝️
I like how you explain the WHYs of the Don'ts. It makes sense. And you make it fun. Thanks for this. Cheers
So grateful! I am horrible with applying eyeliner, 'cause I have a slight tremble in my hand. This technique with the black eyeshadow is definitely a life-saver for me, thank you so much
You are such a great teacher! I love you and your videos!! 💞
I had never heard of make up geek before your videos. I love that you use a make up brand the is affordable for us regular people. A lot of people use brands that i'd love to use but i can't justify their prices.
Ah! I've been missing these :) please do a tutorial for the look you had in the video "foundations for oily skin" please!
This is the very best video ive ever watched on eyeshadoyw for my hooded eyes.bravo!
So helpful! Thanks for explaining why you should/shouldn't do certain things. It has really helped me a ton in the few times that I actually do my makeup x) Thanks Stephanie
I absolutely love these videos!! Changed the way I do my makeup since I joined the channel years ago!!
Oh boy, all my life i always did 'the don'ts"!! Thanks to u ,i will change my habit and follow the "do's"
I love you steph! ❤ you are my fav make up artist..you are REAL!
Day off so I'm binge watching your videos, my hooded eyed amigo - this is just what I needed and I'm going to try these tricks today, thanks 🥰
Thank you!
your videos are seriously so amazing and helpful!!!
Notification squad 😍 Love you stepanie 💓
+Natalie heckathorn yay!!! Love you too! 😘😘
"Because we don't want to look like clowns" is the most relatable thing I've ever heard a makeupartist say. Thanks xD
OH MY GOSH!! I needed this in my life sooooo bad!! I completely ditched eyeshadow bevause of my hooded eyes, i will try this, thank you sooo much!!
Your videos always help me realise what am doing wrong.Thank you so much.
That I can twist up) don't make me feel like I'm risking an eye splinter :)
Thank you for your hooded eye tutorials, I really do find them helpful (especially since I'm a grease slick as well)
This is VERY good!!
Please make more single eyeshadow looks for hooded and droopy eyes! Loved this 💖
Wendy taylor
Thanks Stephanie.
Great point! I am really curious what that would look like. sounds good.
A+- fast, but not too fast! Awesome look and fabulous explanations!!
Love it!!! I hate my hooded eyes when I wear eyeshadow and liner.. But your tips helped me soooo much!! 💖💖💖💖
I swear I learn from every video you post! Thanks again for being awesome!! 😘😘
i love your videos!! you're my fav youtuber thank you so much for being honest and amazing!
+Vanessa DiMartino aw thank you Vanessa! 😍❤
How wonderful!!! I figured the same tips for myself as I have hooded eyes! Great job girl.
can you do a tutorial for winged eyeliner for hooded eyes with liquid liner?
HeavenlySedated822 if you go through her videos, she has one.
what colors are great for h.e. and palettes!?
I guess if you apply eye shadow exactly the same as she did on good side and apply the winged liner with nude pencil on water line as it opens up the eyes. Follow eye shadow from good side and eyeliner from bad side.. I do it all the time. hope this helps.
This is fabulous! Thank you so much! I'm going to try this with a color instead of neutral and see how it works.
Could you do a skin care routine?! Or products you use!
I take my hooded eyes as a challenge to be better at makeup! 😉 Thanks for the tips! 😘
Yeah girl! You cranked this video out fast! ❌⭕️❌⭕️
+AEHM artistry I really tried! 😂 I wanted to have it up by 7:30 but hey ho 🙈
Stephanie Lange well since I'm in the US, you beat your goal by a good 5 hours!!! Lol 🎉🎉🎉 YAY! 😄
I love your videos! As a woman with hooded eyes I always find your content so well thought and useful! Thank you very much 😊
WOW AWESOME VIDEO!! i have ALWAYS been bad at putting eyeshadow on!! even though I watch a ton of tutorials ....but one thing I JUST realized today is that I have hooded eye lids!!!
Stephanie - queen of hooded eyes!
