Okay kids, I've been listening to Amebix since the early 80's and they inspired many of my actions in my young adult life. If you listen to this and don't hear progression with the roots of Amebix blended in then your loss. This actually is where the band was progressing with songs like Right To Ride and my all time favorite Coming Home. Hats off Rob... Cheers
Well said buddy the most underrated band in UK history from the MOOR and Tavistock to this masterpiece, is a mind blower I'm now nearly 60 yrs young ❤❤❤
So from the rooftops call it out
You where always free
Yes from the rooftops call it out
And ever may you be ...
EPIC!!!
the building and structure of this song is just amazing
SWEAR TO FUCK THIS IS JUST BRILLIANT STUFF!!...KEEPS COMING BACK TO HAVE A LISTEN!!
Amazing. Must have watched this about 30 times or more. Sonic Mass is a superb album. I need more!
'...the hands of clocks are bound and time itself is stopped...'
It is hard to express how much the Amebix have meant to me over the past 20 / 25 years or so since I first heard them around the time of the Monolith album. When I first heard news of the reformation I did not expect new music... but the rumours filtered through of a new album. Finally found this a few months ago, listened, with trepidation, but -'rejoice, the great god fear is dead'... A work of genius - roll on the equinox!
It is amazing, how each note, each text phrase, you can truly FEEL. This song is epic...
"The idea was to convey the sense that the corrupt forces of this World are ultimately impotent against the strength of the Human spirit, how the buried evil of the Nazi ideology is trapped under its own ice, how a desperate sense of disconnection and loneliness is the driving force for evil men, and the desire to withhold the truth, that we are free."
Amebix Interview with Reflections of Darkness, 2012
Strange how the main man has found himself embroiled in arguments about anti semitism after promoting a holocaust denier on his thank you notes on the last tau cross album
@@peterritson1875 My personal opinion on the matter is that the kind of infowars anarchism that these guys were coming from tends to leave you wide open to conspiracy theories of any kind (especially if you probably deep fried your brain with years of substance abuse). At least we know now that his ideas, if indeed he already held them at this point, did not taint the music of Amebix.
@Dawn Razor any form of government is evil.
@@z.pilote761 Well said.K.O.T.B.S.Forever!
@@z.pilote761 Here,here my man we'll said!
This is one of my favourite songs of all time, I put it on when I leave my house n I feel like I'm about to embark on something fuckin epic!
Well said!!
hell yes. conquering a mountain
TheOnlyUssher its very different from pre-Amebix,but ya its so beautiful
Bang on, until recently I spent 8 years commuting to see my fiance about a 3 hour train ride away most weekends, would get in from work early finish Friday afternoon and have 30-45 mins to get cleaned up finish packing and head off to the station. So many times would plan the cd so when I was out the shower and doing final bits would be finishing with this monster tune, turned up on the NAD amp, arms in the air and feeling great to be fucking alive, a monster tune of power and positivity, worked for me big time!!
I'm driving to my normie wage job and I feel like I'm about to walk into the doors and fight the demiurge himself.
proves they still got it. please go and do it again
How more you listen to this song, how more the ending of it gets you! Amazing!
really love there music. find it great for clearing my head when im annoyed or generally when im travelling on a long journey.
This and Tau Cross are the musical pinnacles of Rob Miller's career.
WOW...
Randy Blythe brought me hear. He wore an Amebix tee and i loved the image and came here to hear their stuff. I was not disappointed!! Thanks Randy!!! 🤘🏼
I think this has to be my favourite song of the last 5 years or so. Fucking brilliant tune.
@3:58 the chills that passage brings. 🤘🤘
The emotion in this song is just over powering. I get chills everytime i listen to it.
Indeed........ cheers
10 years later, after your comment, we still feel it inside.
I totally relate. Everything about the song is beautiful
Me too .
Boring, had such things heard a thousand times before...
Amebix .... thanks for such exciting sounds .... no one equals !!!!!!
I have loved Amebix since the early days.
I see and feel..
Still blows my mind after a hundred listens
Got to admit i never heard of this band before hearing this on Team Rock radio tonight. But this is EPIC and the video is genius!!!
NOT F*CKING LONG ENOUGH.......i could bathe in this.
Nice one Rob Miller and boys....superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best wishes from "the man in the white Transit van" who gave Rob Miller + 15 friends a lift home from Nereen Butler's funeral(many years ago..Ben was sitting beside me, as were many others.....wonder if your memory will recall this Rob??!!!!
You done well kid.
Certainly woke up Midsomer Norton with your stand-out(and awesome indie) dress sense....and it all lead to this, above.
RESPECT.
What an awesome song.
Love it!! Just awesome.
When you wiki metal genres, see Crust Punk, do research, and discover something new that you really enjoy and isn't popular enough.
this song suites with dark souls
Totally Correct.. that was the way i found this Amazing band.. after searching "Crust punk" genre.
This song is more post-rock than crust punk.
+Manic Maniac I think that's the route most bands take when there tired of subcultures and music genres. Just so they deliver a message with great music
Joshua Hayes I think amebix and rudimentary Peni were two bands that got lumped into anarcho/crust but should've been on a genre completely on their own
Great tour, good video and a killer new track!! Can't wait for a full lp!!!!!!
What a band!
Cant wait to listen to the rest....cheers!!!
Such a great song.
absolutely fantastic!
If we talk about the evaluation, 11 out of a possible 10 is too small !
AMEBIX !
they don't need to be classified ! they are fuckin' brilliant since the start !
@mattiacore Agree with every word. They have reached a new level here. Taken the old stuff and really progressed, still keeping their original roots. Excellently put.
Amebix back to touch our souls with their wisdom.
You were always free,
And ever may you be.
Fuck. So grateful for this.
in, bloody, credible...
Great Riffs .remarkable drumming ;)Roy is the man!!!
4:00 = Chills.
For the haters - Sure, it's obviously a bit of a polished evolution from the days of Monolith and Arise, but the guts and harsh beauty are still in there, and the very fact that Rob and company have taken the time away from sword-making on far-off Scottish isles to reignite the epic flames of Amebix should have us all feeling very grateful.
The remastered work on Redux was great, too - proof that good production values can be a GOOD THING!
Another U.S. tour, please!
awesome
this shit made my day. amebix fucking kills it
Amazing
amazing
Epic
welcome back saw you guys in the riverside newcastle upon tyne many moons ago, still listen to you regularly.personally i think this song would have fitted easily alongside "last will and testament" from monolith slow start slamming finish but with a reborn edge look forward to hearing the new album.be great t see ya play newcastle again if they ever build a decent venue..riverside/mayfair are long gone unfortunatley...
indeed man, sooo epic!
Воу,круто!👍🤘💪
SO BLEAK IS THE DAY , YET SO BLACK IS THE NIGHT ...
Epic.
Do any other old school Amebix fans think this sucks? Am I alone in this?
I think it's an easy listen. Great tunes. Some of the guitars sound like they've been lifted from Geordie's demos. Not a bad thing at all. These two great bands age like fine wines. If you have something to say, a new tune to play, then you can go on till you are a hundred.
Awesome video.. You know I had to Sub right??;)
The video remembers me "Good bye blue sky", from The Wall by Pink Floyd. Great Song, great video.
Awesome song :D
Andy, my man, nice work bro!

Tired: Hippie neo-pagans
Wired: Metalhead neo-pagans
Inspired: Crust punk neo-pagans
Dodgy old fash appologist
Best old school punk bands thu
@crustcrew . i am sure that the album will have a lot more for the older fans of the Band, choosing a single without alienating too many people is a tough one,so hang on in there!
Class
Punk Metal. Bem tocado.excelente trabalho, parabéns
no hay nada mejor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Real. So fucking real. They occupy a space entirly
AMEBIX 1978-2012
Amebix ceased to exist as a working band in 2012 after the release of the Album Sonic Mass, any statements to the contrary are misleading and do not represent the opinions of all of the (ex) members of the band.
Amebix Official on Facebook is run by one (ex) member and likewise does not reflect the opinions or views of the rest of the Band, please bear this in mind if you engage in the social network. Thank you all.
@Dedukrovski - What an odd thing to say. Amebix was crust before "crust" even existed, actually. There wouldn't even be such a categorization without them. Not sure where you are getting your perspective from.
Agreed.
Ha, indeed. This is a recent track (2011), In my opinion no better way to have a come back!
temazo SEÑORES!!! saquensen el sombrero ,hagan la reverencia o lo que sea necesario.
I AM NOT TOLERATING ANY LACK OF LOVING THIS SONG... AND I AM A CAT
@MrSlattocks way better now....thanks for asking. just getting back to hitting those skins again.
:)
at first, by about the three minute mark it gets a lil better
I fucking love this song!
Hy my friends….did you remember the gigs in switzerland? at front bar?
Doesn't really sound like their older stuff, but its still very good. I like it because it has a lot of gothic influence in it
@amebixngnm Well they're using an established name. It's fair to expect something like old Amebix. If they started a new band with this style it might get a lot less hate. And I do like this song, but I can understand why some people might be disappointed.
Great song but I hope there will be some more aggressive ones in the alboum too. I've got a very good feeling about this!!!!
I get a Killing Joke vibe from this one. I like it.
@ThePERgedOne thank you. would that be sonic mass? or the one from 2010, redux? :) thanks again
This sounded like Joy Division for a sec
All hail the black sun rising.
Very nice music and video! I like the symbols, like the "No God No Masters" art in "... I saw the beast arise...". In comments I see that the words written in runes (Ogham) are "rejoice, the great god fear is dead". But I have a question: what is the name of the symbol in the cover of "Sonic Mass"? (some kind of "cross" with two "monolith" aside). What this symbol meant?
mail me Frank, I'll give you my interpretation of it....
pazuzu666ish What is your e-mail address?
BEST. SONG. EVER.
I REPEAT.
BEST. FUCKING. SONG. EVER.
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING.
Nope, they still have some Industrial Rock, Alternative Rock, Heavy Metal, Gothic Rock sounds. & 3 of the 4 genres listed here are Post-Punk in origin. So they still have plenty of Punk in them.
🤘🏻
Good job Roy
I want a professional looking video too!!!!
@Dedukrovski - But that's all that crust actually is - punk meeting metal. I'm no scholar on the subject (if such a thing exists) but I know that at some point, the UK peace-punks started listening to a lot of metal, and the result was bands like Amebix and Antisect. ENT too, though I see them more like proto-grind. But these labels are starting to sound kind of silly, eh? In any case, whatever you want to call it, Amebix was definitely a monumental influence.
FUCKIN AWESOME
@smegmalfog Well, I cant be more happier that they forgot about that statement...
Absolutely Based and Redpilled.
Let's just hope that Rob and Stig have enough class to not become shills for music equipment companies.
This is more gothic metal than crust punk.
For 35 years they've been called crust, I think i'll stick with crust
For 35 years they've been called crust, I think i'll stick with crust
It is very catchy, not really what you want to find in anything gothic ^^ .
Cardey57 Lots of gothic music is very catchy. Ever listened to The Cure?
ganondorfchampin For me the cure was first rock/punk , only the esthetic looked gothic to me ^^.
no further...
Did u remember you must be playing crust?
A., there was no word "crust" then.
We were Filthcore or Stenchcore b4 Crusty came along,"Buy i gurt a pint"!
@zachary902101
Amebix was not crust at all, despite what everybody says.
not bad...not bad at all
@RCGreven got it tnx
Regardless still a badass song
Actually, they started as a raw crust punk band but fuck genres the music's still fucking good.
actually they both started in 1978
@czumeel how is this progress? it;s crp. it's mainsteam bs.
Its really good, the vocals should be lower in the mix and bass higher though.
