Dhunuchi dance during Durga Puja is fantabulius and uniquely uniquely uniquely celestial which celebrates the strength amd power of womanhood . In mainland Bengal,dhunuchi dance is mainly performed by males .but in some probasi pujas today there is an effort to make it by females.but when this is in media and publicity grace and beauty shuold be added.dancers should be practised and experienced.
Dhunuchi naach is not a choreographed dance. It loses its essence if choreographed, it is a spontaneous dance and is more an arati, which cannot be choreographed. Hence, one never performs dhunuchi on stage, but agomoni performances happen on stage. The dancers are both trained classical dancers for the past 40 years (for one) and 20 years (for the other) under the tutelage of one of the leading Guru and Bharat Natyam exponent in Kolkata and subsequently under the tutelage of Gurus in Bangalore and regularly perform on stage and hence experience is not something that they lack. However, as I have mentioned earlier....... this is not a choreographed performance and is dhunuchi, which has a very different essence!
