I was always for buffing unplayable cards rather than the ones that are already okay. Only took them 10 years to figure out they can do that but I'm happy they're buffing cards that aren't already meta relevant for once.
Definitely agree that these changes would be nicer if they were more timely than shortly before being rotated.
buffing cards that still won't be meta relevant
Im so disappointed with the mage and priest buffs honestly,i dont think theyre gonna make 30% winrate decks that havent been played for months viable, it feels like garbage classes will stay like that.
They’ve made too many mistakes with buffing cards that end up being broken
say that now and it somehow works somewhere yknow thats how it be like sometimes
Mech mage has been decent in standard for a while now, at least pre-diamond rank. These changes might make it a tier 4 deck overall, but who knows.
We will see in a few days if they are impactful enough
At least from priest standpoint, there’s no amount of buffs you can do for cards that have fundamentally wrong for the last 2 years. The core set changes for priest were also horrific so I know year of the Pegasus is going to be bad for priest too.
@@Begeruname me a single priest card over the last 2 years that’s needed to be nerfed after it was overly corrected with a buff like Velarok or anything from warrior.
Zeddy it’s awesome to see you grow as a creator. Only a year or so you were on the outside screaming at devs and angering community managers (I kid, I kid) and now you’re on the inside, actually influencing the game (or at least having your voice heard more), and being granted access early to info like this. And it is ALL well deserved. Seriously it’s great to see you succeed. My best to you, my Canadian brother in the tavern! 👏
Absolutely terrible buffs. Thief priest is not a thing and won't be a thing because of this. There are multiple new classes sticking around beyond rotation that needed support: Automaton, Pip, Overheal, why on earth would people "try out" rotating cards in decks that are already terrible. Such a waste of time and honestly insane that they thought players would be happy with this when the classes are in such desperate need of meaningful buffs.
Also given that priest had both of their dual class cards absolutely gutted because of druid you would think they'd do something to make up for that, but no.
Priest is always bullied
@@Sadsfattisif Priest bullies are getting bullied, everything is going right in that department
@@addiematt5736 you say that like druid doesn't deserve to have 20% wr for the neext 3 years
@@addiematt5736 Yeah the metatyrants like 6 years ago
@@rltt379 Druids have been meta but not unbeatable, their strategies are fair in that their win condition never goes off before the mid or late game, meanwhile Priest, Demon Hunter, Rogues, are a lot more quicker in that they can usually end the game on turn 3-4 (Solitaire decks), meaning Druids still give a lot of windows of opportunity for their opponents (cuz not everything is gonna align with both player's hands), so there is heathy counterplay (a puzzle that you both interact with) even to smOrc playstyles. You mean you're annoyed at turn 12-16 for what?
Blizzard really trying to make people waste dust on cards that are about to rotate lol
man pretty sure in 2 years you packed these cards at some point lol
I was thinking the same thing. "Oh the new expansion arrived! Oh no but you spent all your dust on testing out these new decks because of these buffs! Why not take a stop at our store and buy some new packs!" 🤣🤣🤣
@@dasdasdiamlasdasdsada9717nope. almost not a single one
@dasdasdiamlasdasdsada9717 most people disenchant cards they can't play
They want people to play new cards from the upcoming expansion that's why they didn't do any buffs that would benefit the staying sets
I'm sorry but what in the WORLD were they thinking when they made Chaos Creation a mage card? There's no way that a dev looked at that and was like "oh yea that could be good in mage", if they did it just for flavour I guess that's "understandable", but they're still effectively 100% WASTING a dual class card slot for one of the classes. Because it is wasted. It was already so bad before, now it's literally a Firelands portal with severe downside. That will never go away no matter what, until it rotates. Bizarre.
They should have made it destroy less for each spell school played.
@@shadowpriest2574 thats very elegant and flavour idea still bad card for mage but at least give some story
It also screws up the mage fel spell pool. Before if you discover taste of chaos from discovery of magic you'd be excited to play it because it offers so many cool spells from dh. Now you only get this sh*tty card as an option.
The buffs for wild rotation are cool gives a good opportunity for people to transition into playing wild
Good point
I don’t understand why they don’t do these buff sooner, if a card is unplayable in the meta buff it.
These buffs are trash LMAO
Warrior dodging nerfs while the reason for everything nerfed is "high legend sentiment" in a game that barely has esports lol okay
So weird to see buffs on all the rotating cards
They’re basically wild buffs
I think it makes sense… it’s safer to try new stuff as they won’t stick.. they are checking design limitations
I guess it means they don't have to worry about the buffed cards being overpowered post rotation.
also look from the profit side: Id they are good, tryhards gotta craft them even tho they rotate out. For people already having the carss its a reason more to keep them, thus having less dust to work with.
Big bait . People are gonna waste dust before rotation . Clown move …
It makes some sense to buff rotating cards.
Rotation will already shake things up and buffing cards that are staying will mean that the new cards will have to be equivalent power level which could result in a need for more buffs and overall powercreep.
As far as actual buffs go... I don't think they really change much.
true, but they could always undo it
Somebody that never play this game would make better buffs than this.
15 trash cards buffed*
The Brann variant of control warrior is so obnoxious. Multiple final Astalors, each of which double damage… sigh.
plague dk sends its regards
And if that fail they still have the boom pack. Sigh...
i mean either brann or odin basically the same thing, play the card on curve means gg
Had an opponent who played brann on turn 5, so i just conceded. Like i just wanna play my control mage y'know? and guess what? The guy added me after the match. I just ignored it because i know what comes next. 😂
HUGE NERFS HURRDURR: "We nerfed the 7/7 to a 5/7 that still deletes the cards you want deleted in sludgelock that basically destroy your face before you get to do anything."
Braindead Devs. I'm really getting sick of it.
Nerfs are pretty good, can't complain much there. The buffs feel completely random and out of left field. No one was playing these cards anyways and they're not strong enough to get play. Mage got absolutely nothing
At least it'll feel less bad to randomly generate them.
I got all the Nerfs, but i didnt' get the Buff. Sure i'm fine with then, but most cards will rotate out in the next Weeks and now they buff it? They are really hoping people will use it in Wild?
A change that would be good for Titans should be that when you use an ability for a titan it is no longer usable for any copies of that titan you summon.
it isn't if it's an exact copy
@@rltt379 my point was say you used a titan ability and then you copy it to your hand. The copy in your hand will also have that titan ability used up. Or if you copy a titan before you use an ability then use the ability, both titans (the original and the copy) have that ability used up.
@@SpookyTanukiGaming I mean yeah, but that would make bouncing it bad. The problem is druid, so no give druid enablers and instead of nerfing, make it non druid.
How long will they pretend Brann + Astalor isn't beyond broken? Warrior gets 10-20 armor and deals at least 56 dmg every damn game just with those card alone. Sometimes more if their hand is empty enough.
Tbf, one of my favorite matches ever was an arena game where I had that "whenever a minion is frozen add a copy to your hand" treasure and was playing against a control/thief priest deck and we ended up playing like 13 copies of the titan guy between us by the time we were done lol
I think it makes sense to buff cards that are rotating to shake things up. Presumably, the next set will be tuned to work with cards that aren't rotating, so no need to buff those now. Let's see how things turn out after rotation before worrying about them.
Was hoping for From De Other Side to be 8 mana. It’s still way too slow. Plus you can only play it twice.
The buffs feel insignificant. Many of the buffed archetypes haven't been playable for ages nor are they close to being playable now. Pirate rogue? Seriously.
4 mana 1/5 for sharp shooter would feel a lot better
Its such a spit in the face of DH , Mage, Priest and Shaman players what all these "buffs" are.
We need more nerf to druid. I cant even remember the last time it was a tier 3/4 class
Welcome back to warrior/rogue stone.
Sludge on Wheels nerf will do absolutely nothing. It should read "When this deals damage" instead of "When this takes damage". That way at least spells could take it out without loading up barrel after barrel to their deck and hand. Warlock could still use it and produce some barrels and other players could also take it out a little easier without loading barrels everywhere. One less health does next to nothing.
I think buffing cards that are leaving standard soon is not a bad idea, because it makes the meta more fresh while we wait for the next expansion. However, I don’t think it’s good to buff cards that will stay in standard without knowing how they will interact with the new cards in the next expansion. Sometimes, cards that seem weak now can break the meta with a strong synergy from a new card.
When i leave for a week from HS from some reason few Zeddys vids and im up to date in best way.Keep it up.Love ya
Im gonna be real, the "nerf" to chaos creation is an indirect buff. I've played 5 games with it, I've gotten Aegwynn twice, and Azure drake once. The stats and keywords for the 5 mana minions are also way more impactful. You have 2 chances to get a spell power minion, not to mention the insane deathrattle with Aegwynn. I like this spell way more now.
As a Spell DH wild player I like the spell buffs though some of the fel combos don’t really work as well since 8 minions on board
Anybody else think it was overkill to Nerf three cards from a single deck? When pure paladin was allowed to run a muck for well over a year without any meaningful response 👀
Sludge nerf won’t be enough. Wheels should have been changed to frenzy. After the buff to 2/5 it became probably one of the strongest 3 drops ever printed. 4-6 cards generated consistently as well as controlling the early board easily setting up an otk with CC on its own.
If Mysterious Visitor buffed to add “this game” it would easily improve the playability (with implied lessening of reduction to 2 mana).
from de other side shaman has always been a fun deck. it dropped off after vandarr rotated, but still occasionally saw play. it loses hard to reno now which is why its even more dead.
these buffs may have put a more aggressive list back in standard maybe. 9 mana fdos is interesting, lets you use queen azshara spell copy to cast two fdos in one turn, maybe three with the overload weapon spell cheapener
I think they really should've just given chaos creation less bottom of deck removal. Could've toned down its power in sludge warlock while also finally making it actually possibly playable in mage.
Missing the fact that chaos creation ‘nerf’ means now I can summon Leeroy after core rotation
at least that means one less barrel. I feel like it's still too much though
I love the buffs, but i hate it that they came so late, nothing of that would kill standard meta if they were initially that way or were buffed at least much earlier
These are so obviously Wild buffs they already had planned and decided to launch early.
Energy Shaper is a lowkey nerf lol. I played Rommath control mage to legend this season and one fun way to deal with Plagues is to get a bunch of coins from mechs and turn them into Fires of Zin late game...
Also gonna mess up everything. Generally, 5 mana spells are good to recast, alot of draw in 6 mana pool and your mechs that give you 2 secrets, now create 6 mana spells instead of 5
That harkener of dread buff is insane. Now its a 11 health taunt split into 4 bodies for 5 mana. Might not be enough if shaman doesn't have the greatest late game win con but the card itself is completely busted now.
Really feels like they could have gone harder with the buffs of cards that are leaving soon. Some real fundamental changes rather than a 1 mana drop here and there.
Can’t say I was disappointed by the priest “””buffs””” because I figured from the start no amount of buffs can fix fundamentally wrong cards but to basically touch up bad cards slated for rotation feels like a prank.
It’s almost like it’s more about the theatrics and giving off the illusion of the devs “listening” rather than actually taking this stuff seriously.
I am really upset about the shattered reflections SECOND nerf - literally the only card that druid had
I dont understand why the location destroyer minion costs as much as the location itself. Never felt worth running.
Coilskar already summoned 2 copies before. They just changed it's stats. Also... I think it's time to play only duels until the expansion comes out, because there are gonna be way too many warriors.
Zeddy you're the only creator i watch for updates on hearthstone. Just wanted to day thanks man. Sad they took so long to buff and nerf these cards.
So disappointed in the dh buffs especially how weak the class feels right now
Hmm I somewhat mixed on them buffing cards right before they rotate
On one hand I feel like it's nowhere near as impactful to buff cards people don't play right before they rotate.
On the other hand I understand not wanting to power up cards that may have unknown synergies with the next expansion and rotation.
i'm actually a fan of this system. its a way to slow down powercreep if you think about it. this way when rotation happens and the new expansion comes you can guarantee a fresh meta where the decks are at a reasonable power level. if you buff cards that are sticking around, there's more of a possibility for them to be too good after rotation.
Totally agree
Precisely
Real shame that doesn’t apply to the actual new cards they need to keep selling but go off.
@@vinnythewebsurfer ok.
Yes its a great way to make people await rotation because nobody still can play the buffed cards (all their decks are shit).
If Blizzard wanted for people to take a step back from the game, thats exactly what they are getting, for absolutely sure.
I hope they keep these buffs going to Wild. Hooktusk Reno Rogue is a bop in Wild, but it's definitely far from competitive. Every little bit helps, especially being able to do Brann + Hooktusk in super greedy matchups. The other stuff is cool too esp for Reno DH
Given the meta will have a huge shake up soon, I really like these buffs. They're pretty risk free, as anything that gets overtuned won't be around long enough to be too problematic, and they're focused on pushing archetypes that never landed or didn't last long in the churn of the meta.
I really like the idea of a very short term patch. The more the merrier. Fresh meta = fun meta. (unless you are stormwind)
I don't know why shattered reflections isn't back to hand, deck and battlefield since it can't target titans anymore :/
true, or just make it a non druid card and revert it
@@rltt379 You can't just change/remove a class of a card. I mean, you _can,_ but knowing Blizzard, it would create some bugs.
@@robertlupa8273 I don't think changing dual class to 1 class is a big deal in terms of making it work
@@rltt379 Yeah but you can never be sure with HS's spaghetti code and devs.
@@robertlupa8273 if it's that bad they may as well reprogram the game and be done with it
I’ve been playing in silver rank today. All I’ve seen is sludge warlock or dragon Druid. These buffs and nerfs did nothing.
Why would I craft cards that are about to rotate, unless they plan to re nerf them or give refunds for them if you only play standard and are f2p these changes are troll imo
Good to see sludge getting toned down. I went 15-1 with it to legend before the nerfs. Hopefully it'll be much more reasonable now
As far as Chaos Creation highrolls... You can get Aegwynn, Disruptive Spellbreaker and Rin which would all be pretty annoying for Sludgelock to get.
I'm hoping sludge warlock will still be playable competetively as I only recently crafted it
It would have been cool if they buffed these cards sooner. These older cards will only be around for a short time. It is a test, but I like the changes as they make the meta different.
Hook tusk is a cool card. It's like a quest inside a minion, similar to legends of runterra.
The only meaningful one for me is the no-minion DH deck since I have the full deck of it. If they had buffed it a month sooner, it would have given me some time to enjoy the deck. Right now, it only makes me salty that it is gone in a week and Wild is not a friendly environment for that deck since the aggro there is just crazy fast
These sludge nerfs aren’t gonna do anything push less damage sure but they generate it so easily
Useless it’ll still be op
So mage is still bad but you can try meme and dead decks until we get Khadgar and hopefully another playable card in a month
They forced this class so hard into relying on Sif and then gave it nothing to work with after she dropped. Specially with the really agressive decks that they cant consistently respond to until level 5 or 6
Energy shaper looks scary now. From the other side could easily be 8 if not less
Seems like they buffed some of their own fave cards. Glad to see some fun meme decks made to be a little more competitive though. For some of us it's the best part of the game. Even though it's not all about winning, it sure gets less enjoyable when you mostly lose trying to pull off a fun combo when something like Sludge Warlock is so overtuned OP and prevalent. These decks winning by turn 6 consistently is problematic for the game to me.
There are 10 mana crystals for a reason, so I wish the devs would design it so that we make it to that more often than not. I acknowledge that games dragging on too much is mostly no fun either, but recognise that Hearthstone has a sweetspot of how many turns makes for enough time for a maximum amount of fun to be had per game. And for most people I believe that seems to be 10-12 turns.
Priest and Mage are my favourite classes. They really need to give them more love
Coilskar Commander already summoned two copies, they just buffed the stats to a 3/7. But I think it’s somewhat cool to see these limited-play-time buffs!
What about Necrium Rogue in wild with shadestone skulker. If I can't destroy the blade before turn 4 I've just been conceding. I hate that card
Imagine you have a deck with literally one win condition and you nerf it 2 times......crazy
I already run harkener in Highlander Shaman. That broken buff sounds sick.
Thank god waste remover is no longer 7 mana, right Zeddy?
Very unhappy with the patch, it feels like it was done just for the sake of doing and telling the community “Look we did something”. The cards buffed are senseless and were irrelevant either when they came out in their initial set or now. All the strategies promoted by the buffs are nullified by meta leaders Plagues, Reno decks and Warrior. The only good things were the nerfs.
I don't get why buff cards that are rotating out... although some are interesting.
~Shaman buffs and Hunter I think are good enough to make into highlander... Mage maybe back with mechs? Mechs never got nerfed... they're as powerful as ever...
Surprised my quiet climb this month to Legend w/ Totem Shaman wasn't nerfed.
Was really hoping I wouldn't have to keep seeing Warrior and Death Knight every match I play.
I think Titans should Inherently not be able to be discovered or copied as part of the "Titan" keyword. Would solve a lot of problems.
I still fail to see how Chaos Creation was, is or really ever can be a Mage card ...🤔
Thoughts on buffing cards which rotate is simple.. easiest way to Developer against powercreep...
Nerf new strong cards, buff old cards going away soon, ITS actually Something i Wish for years
So it's going to be still only warrior or sludge warlock meta?
I think Brann in warrier should cost 8, they drop it's cost and the only cards that can challenge it are Dirty Rat and Theotar. Both are probably leaving and Warrier gona be out of control. As it stands right now, it's already almost impossible to stop the Warriors after Brann.
These are basically Wild buffs because these rotate in about four weeks.
coilskar commander used to be one of my absolute favorite cards for big DH back in sunken city into nathria. ran it in my stormpike deck. never was this meta warping card but i just loved that card and its voicelines
What a god-awful series of balance patches this game has seen over the past few months. This one, more than any other, is just wtf. They tease a bunch of vague, class-wide changes and the reality is a couple cans of silly string.
The layoffs really have decimated this team's creativity, haven't they?
The dragon that steals two cards from your opponents hand is gonna feel so bad to play against
It is copies.. it won't feel bad at all.
2:40 no longer a 4 mana 7/7 you mean? a 7 mana 7/7 war golem wouldn't be much to talk about lol
When toxic questmagenerf? Or mine rogue? Or maybe turn 4 20/20 stats even shaman?
I'm kind of upset wild didn't really get touched. Mine rogue is too annoying to play against.
This expansion looks pretty awesome, think warlock was the only thing i faced in ladder
They need to stop with buffs. Power creep wouldn’t be such an issue if old cards keep getting stronger. People complain about these things then blizzard makes hooktusk 7 mana.
Man they listened to you about that reflections nerf!
wow I'm surprised with how many buffs dh got, my fav class btw so good news =)
The buffs are insignificant, and warrior is just going to be even stronger. Warlock nerfs are not going to change much imo.
They nerfed the only playable demon hunter deck but thank god they buffed coliskar commander that surely will save the class from its amazing 37% winrate on hsreplay
Aw man... I wish they had made Shattered Reflections return to hand, or at least made it 4 mana. I need more ways to easily get more Kingpin Puds!
Zero percent of the world's population asked for the stupid unused cards that are rotating very soon to be buffed for mage. Doesn't change mage whatsoever and we aren't even keeping the cards to play with anyway. Thoughtless mage patch.
Chaos creation should be 5 mana if it's only 5/5/5....
Not happy about the sludge warlock nerfs :/
When Titans where invented, they should've never counted as minions. Sorta like Planeswalkers
I’d be fine with buffs to rotating a cards if they made them like crazy buffs. Give us a totally novel toxic meta and we’ll all accept it cause it’s leaving soon. Honestly that’s be kinda fun. These buffs (like most) are underwhelming
