If you're comparing them to Kendrick Lamar or Lupe Fiasco or J.I.D. then I agree with you. But compared to rap that's popular in America then I'd have to disagree, but we all have our thoughts on style comparisons. Many are finding about XG because this song has been trending and going viral, so they don't know about their singing or dancing which are very strong. This is their 2nd year since debuting and they're on a world tour now. If you're more into singing I'd recommend Left Right or Winter Without You. They have a series of vids which showcases the ladies rapping, singing and dancing in groups and individually called XG TAPES, XG VOX, XG MOVE. I think after watching more of all they can do you'll understand why they have a rabid fandom and are getting shout outs from big name music artists worldwide. They trained for 5 years before coming out in 2022. Very different from other kpop/jpop artists, as their lead singles are in English. Their other projects mix English, Japanese and Korean. Cool reaction, peace!
Please name any group who can rap like them, Just 1 will suffice. There was 11 different types of flows in that song, Double entendres, flow switches alone with different flows. Annunciation as their 3rd language was bettuh than your UK accent. The cadence was riding the beat to the T. To say that out of the 11 flows you were not impressed with is either your tone death or no nothing about rapping and only go for that Commercial gimmick rapping which is dime a dozen.
Respect your opinion. I would love to hear your reference you are comparing for impressing you on raps. Just curious . Appreciate you checking them out. I think for improvement knowing what needs to improve is constructive. But respect. XG is not for everyone. Thanks again for reacting. Glad you took time to listen.
Hmmmm... I'm surprised by your take away from this release from XG, but I just note it as you're new to the girls and just don't have the info on how they got to where they are. Imagine someone asked you to move to...let's say Italy and ask you to speak Italian and then ask you to rap in Portuguese. That's basically what the girls did but moved from Japan to Korea, learn to speak Korean and then learn to sing and rap in English.
Your input will help them grow and in fact I think you will be amazed at their growth in the coming year!
