Because Godot 4 crashes too much for me, I started using Redot. I view all of these engine as tools. I will learn all and us the best one to finish my project.
@@LemonSchool For now, I am going for side scrollers but I also have an interest in RTS and God sims. My goal is to complete at least two of them before focusing on RTS but in general, these three are what I like the most. My main inspirations are Rise of nations. Black and white Shantae and Sonic.
That sounds awesome! Side scrollers, RTS, and God sims are such diverse and exciting genres. I wish you the best of luck with your projects! When one of them is ready, please share it with me. I’d be excited to play it!
Unity is also my Favorite (I loved using C#) but I stopped using it and I went to Unreal because of the amazing out-of-the-box graphics. But Unity looks like it has got a recent upgrade that may come close, in some ways, to unreal.
godot it's awesome, and unity is in a huge drop because of some "company decisions", so even unity being a great engine, people are seeing more motives to use godot instead. Unreal is great too.
which however changed the policies immediately after. if you make more than 200k a year alone for your indie game you have no problem giving 2.5% revenue. (always better than unreal). I started my gamedev journey with Godot but after months and months I switched to Unity and I must say that I feel much better. Godot has enormous potential but there are too many breaking changes between the versions. I'll wait for the versions to stabilize.
If you really think Godot's not that good at 3D graphics, check out Road To Vostok!
Nah
And the Godot version looks significantly worse than the Unity version he had before the switch.
