    From information I have gathered, when you need to weld up a crack, you should file or grind a trough in the metal before you weld, to get a stronger repair.

      @ArcheonRestoration  Месяц назад

      I appreciate the suggestion! That was my first time welding so I only had a general idea of what to do. If I encounter a similar situation with cracks on another project I'll give the filing a shot! :)

    Very nice! A tip for welding is to just practice on scrap metal and slow your movements way down imagine the welder is a pen and you are writing something neatly, that is a good speed to start with. Thicker metal is easier to weld on if you’re going to weld something like thin sheet metal you need to be faster but that takes lots of practice

    я не могу понять одного, зачем несколько часов ковыряться в топоре поливая его уксусом и делая ему солевые ванны ,если все равно потом будешь шлифовать болгаркой?

    • @ArcheonRestoration
      @ArcheonRestoration  3 месяца назад

      You have a valid question for sure! There are 3 main reasons I've elected to do things in this way.
      1. To decrease the amount of time I spend grinding and sanding, also decreasing wear and tear of my grinding discs.
      2. To reach some areas that are particularly difficult to get to with the grinder or dremel.
      3. To provide an interesting and varied viewing experience for the viewers that is not just 15 minutes of the same process.
      However it is certainly possible to spend more time purely grinding and skip that particular step. Thank you for your curiosity, I hope this helps answer you concerns :)
