Hello. I just bought the older cembalet and found all the pluckers have disintegrated and so have the dampners. You mentioned in your video that know of a guy who makes these types of things. could you post his details.
I honestly cannot remember the information. It has been a few months now. I remember e-mailing him and he said he made batches every now and then and offered them on ebay. I asked if he would contact me if he made a batch and he never got back to me. I'm not sure if he saw that I had sold it already or what. If I recall correctly, I think he was a Doctor in Las Vegas. I found the information from going through some google searches. It wasn't easy and took some browsing through chat room pages, etc. I think someone in one of the chat rooms had posted a link and when I clicked on the cache'd link the old ebay ad popped up and that is how I contacted him - through ebay. Initially, I was actually considering repairing it for myself. But then I realized it needed a LOT of work to get it in tip-top shape. You can see that in the video. I know it can't be easy to make those pluckers. I am pretty deft with tools of all kinds and the only way I could think of making them correctly was with a sheet of teflon. It would be a lot of work. The Cembalet I sold needed a lot of work. More time than I could spend on it. So I just decided to get rid of it before it became an unhealthy obsession. LOL. If it was in perfect condition it would have sold for much more, of course.
hello, did you find pluckers since you posted this answer? i'm in the same case with my cembalet, all pluckers have desintrated and i'm searching how to replace it , maybe it would be easyer to make up some handcrafted...?
$175 + $100 to ship. It was bought by a gentleman in our same state (CA) and it took some special packaging materials. The buyer was very pleased with the transaction. We received a great feedback.
