    Penetration testing, or pentesting, is a security testing methodology where skilled professionals, often called ethical hackers or penetration testers, simulate cyberattacks on a system, network, or application. The objective is to identify and exploit vulnerabilities to assess the overall security and help organizations strengthen their defenses against potential real-world threats.
