Such an informative real video with great information. This has helped me a lot and I like how humble you are to ask for help to use already bought items and to plan properly. Like you said who are you trying to impress. The goal is to be Married and pray for a blessed marriage without going into debt on a one day wedding. Thank you
How I wish many ladies are like you. Nigeria ladies love faking things, spending what they don't have to buy what they don't need to impress people who don't care. Thanks for this anyway. My fiancee must watch too.
Thanks for this! I found it very useful... Please how much was your total budget? And you mentioned something about having more than the number of guests expected from your parents, how were you able to handle that?
Glad you enjoyed watching. My initial budget was around 1 million Naira which was inclusive of everything(both traditional engagement and church wedding).Eventually we spent about 2 million Naira, but don't forget we didn't drop the money at once, it was gradually. Our parents handled food and catering and they ensured we had more than enough food and drinks. Despite the number of people that turned up, we still had excess food that our parents had to give out to people. By the way, our parents didn't outsource catering, they bought all the food stuffs, live cows and everything needed and then hired chefs and cooks to come over to cook and ofcourse they hired servers and ushers as well so food was surplus.
Well this will help me because am preparing for my traditional and white wedding I was kind of confused because of the resources at hand but this video is an eye 👁️ opener
Hi Ope, thanks alot for sharing. Please can you share ideas of places in Lagos you had in mind for your outdoor wedding. i am also planning on having an outdoor wedding for 150persons. Thank you
Hi Amarachi, you may check welcome centre hotel at Ikeja . They have a garden they rent out for weddings. You may want to check on google as well. Nowadays, a lot of hotels have gardens available to use as outdoor wedding venue. Thanks a lot for watching and congratulations on your forthcoming wedding❤️
Lots of good info. I just wish the tips were on video. Text on screen would be so helpful if planning to come back and find specific tips. It's long, o! lol
Okay. I’m looking at planning a wedding from diaspora without a wedding planner. I gave up on the wedding ceremony/reception yesterday. The cost is quite much...
Let me teach you a trick. When communicating with vendors, use your Nigerian whatsapp number instead to chat them up or roam your number if you want to call. That's what I still do till date. I don't message vendors on IG because once they see you live abroad, they won't be willing to give you discounts.
You can also delegate to your siblings, parents or trusted friends to liase with vendors on your behalf and they shouldn't mention to the vendors that you live abroad. Also, you can postpone and batch some purchase till you arrive in Nigeria. For instance, for your fabrics and some other items that may be cheaper if you buy them from the market yourself, you can actually wait till when you arrive in Nigeria.
I love the fact that you were down to earth. Not everyone would admit that they got a pre-owned shoe on their wedding
Awwwwn. Thank you so much for the compliment. You just made my day❣
