Got laid off.
Researched job market (like you said);
Took tutorials, self-learning (like you said);
Practiced the skills (like you said);
Worked on and produced/published personal projects (like you said);
Applied and applied and applied to jobs (like you said);
Some recruiters liked me, my skills and the fact that I had "projects" to show and demonstrate my skills;
Started getting contract jobs, ..., now in the job of my dreams, at the company of my dreams, earning more than ever (like you said I would);
It took me two whole years of grinding and never giving up (like you said).
Sincerely appreciate your message and the value you give.
BTW, I even bought your course which diversified my Operations background and gave me skills for frontend and UI/UX. Now I am truly DevOps.

Really good advice. I would add though that learning about new methods and techniques related to your discipline is also a really valuable strategy and could be used as the inspiration for new projects.

I hadn't watched your videos for years but as I decided to do some research about freelancing, your name immediately came to my mind. Thanks for all your work!
As always great content Mike. Reminding me that I need to take action over my career. I have been losing focus recently with everything and been a self taught designer. Sometimes I find it challenging trying to keep up with all the latest tools and software and be competitive along with everything going on.Thanks for putting this video out need to hear this.
Appreciate fam - it’s a lot of noise out there. I learned just keep it simple, stick with a couple of key things and get good at it (don’t chase the never ending tech tools that come out every other day), you’ll have time to learn tools when necessary. Focus on core essentials. 💯

I want to create my own workplace. I hate working and being manipulated back to abusive familial and community harrassments/situations. But my home and phone devices are bugged by individuals that want to help and those who have been piggy backing to steal and copy. So i tried to leave and work for uber/lyft to change my environment. But same situations occured, bugged phone and shady workplace environments are hard to shake off. What would you suggest for someone in my situation...when the people that are suppose to help are just helping themselves. Starting with the family unit.

Any tips on how to land a freelance job on upwork and similar platforms; when your experience is jr level?
For landing freelance, I would say it’s about content (marketing). Share your work non-stop, if your work is good, clients will gravitate towards you. Even as a junior designer, don’t label yourself as junior, just keep grinding and your designs will improve week over week.
I m going to start my career in ui ux designing i recently grad as a engineer but don't know how to start, from where i should learn, Is graduation is needed ? Sir would u please suggest me something do i have to learn programming first or how to work on tools ?
So many places to start. Best thing to do is identify what job you want?... UX Designer? Front-End Developer? ....sounds like you want to code. I would start by learning HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Just start by learning the basics and go from there.
