When I did the front lift on my ZJ I disconnected all of the control arms and boy did I regret it. The only way to reconnect them was to set the Jeep down after the lift and very gently roll the Jeep forward. It worked for me, but do not do this. I almost rolled the axle under the Jeep. Good advice on doing one side at a time.

About to do a 3.5 on my 2 door and can't find much on 3.5 lifts. Looks like I will throw driveshafts on the parts list. Thanks. Alot of people say both that it runs and others say it doesn't rub, I think it's all in how you wheel it. Thanks for the response
35 is pushing it. Curious to see if y’all are going to go dynatrac prorock 44 or go big and bold with a d60, but then are the goals to jump up to 40” tires? Might have to get a detachable step or something, lol. Awesome install video and the short video at the end!
Once one of our axles break... we will be upgrading... dunno what brand we will be getting thou... I’m wanting to beef up my 44 and just continue to run 37/38 tires ...I got some weld on parts I need to put on... 🙌😂 glad you enjoyed
Sweet! Only thing keeping Heathen lower than Bromance is the tires! Gee, woulda been nice to get half off new tires, huh? Y'all are right though, those Yoki's are SERIOUS. Now, to critique the vid.... The bumpstop install looked eerily similar to another one I've seen....🤔🤔 But, the FUNNIEST part was definitely "So much more room for activities". 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Finally, the camera operator sucked. Fire his ass. Vids are WAY better when Misty does the camera operating. Would like to add that not ONLY RK and MC have "buildable" kit options. I'm doing the same with my Clayton Offroad lift. All I need are the LCA's and it'll be done. Evo also has several kit options that may be added to at a later date. Other than that, great video again guys! Love the new stance on Heathen!
Lol but we don’t need new tires! I hate filming and doing the work alone... u can definitely tell which videos I don’t have the help... reason is our days off are different... so I’m ready to do a video.. she is working... or vis-versa... but starting sept... we will have sundays off together... so the will be fantastic! I know there are a lot of buildable kits out there... just everyone is taking their time developing for the JL lol MC and RK were the firsts from what I remember..
Gio Lucero yep stock the bottom of the rock rail was at 16” then we added the 2.5” RK Adventure Series which brought it up to 20 then swapped for 3.5” X-Factor and it’s at 21” now after settling
Great video! I'm about to get the rk 2.5 xfactor kit. When loosening all the control arms, did you just use an impact or did you have to use a breaker bar? What jack stands did you use to get it high enough to droop? I'll be watching your video again!
I used a breaker bar, mainly because my impact gun... isn’t the strongest... 😂 i was able to get by with the harbor freight 6 ton jack stands.. glad to hear u enjoyed it, hope the video serves to be useful! Just remember take ur time and be safe! If u have more questions reach out to me on fb or Instagram !
Has the RK End's on the control arm ever squeaky noises or the pretty silent while flexing. I was also wondering about the Metalcloak if they are solid sounding. I have Fabtech that my jlu came with when I bought it. There is not one single sound. I flex the F**k out of it and not even a peep from anything but, it rides stiff on the highway. It's like an 87 solid axle Toyota sr5 so I'm gonna do a 3.5 gamechanger or a 3.5 Xfactor but not sure yet. So I would like input anywhere I can get it. Thanks and keep up the great videos.
Yes, the RK joints squeak often if not routinely greased. Ill tell you this, between the 2 lifts (both are good products) I prefer the MC lift for the sole purpose of maintenance free joints. Because every time I need to grease the RK joints, I end up having to drop the arm and they don't always want to line back up with ease when trying to bolt them in. What was really irritating was RK uses a 000 grade grease, its very thin and would push out of the joints quickly (also pricey as hell), requiring more time having to grease arm joints. However they are suppose to be changing the races on the joints to allow thicker grease to be used. Riding in both the MC and RK lifts,,,, my personal opinion,,, MC rides smoother,,, My only issue with MC is I wish they made their arms thicker, but I haven't broken them. Iv bogeyed my front LCA quite a bit since install and no issues. My molar lift was like that, stiffer then hell... hated it,,, night and day difference when I installed MC I figure less time greasing joints will allow me more time working on other things between the 2 jeep san dJ10 we have sitting in the garage. I plan on doing reviews on both lifts in the future, but that may be some time down the road still... Hope this helps you make your decision, if you have additional questions, let me know!
Haha oh yeah i already have the same lift you guys started with just need to swap coils.... those LCAS were a pita to get off i needed an impact gun 😂😂😂
How's it holding up. I got the Rubicon Exspress with Ats foster shocks. Mine rides either super stid much ff or out of control. Can't seem to get a nice ride. 😕. Looking at making chsnges
Not bad, requires frequent maintenance... which can get frustrating... from refilling the shocks every 6 months to having to drop control arms to grease the joints is not how I enjoy spending my day. That being said, its not a bad lift, if you love to tinker and maintenance work, this will be good. They do claim to have an abuse proof warranty, Iv never had to cash in on. The parts are good quality, thou I wish they did Johnny joints over their version of a heim. SO I'm sum up, this can ride great, just need to keep up with maintenance, depending on how hard you off-road will determine how often you should be doing upkeep. They sell a Johnny joint arm lift kit, but is not adjustable, so u get what you get. That I don't like.
