Damn did i learn the expensive way.. Driveability issue (bucking on light throttle/decel) couldn't be identified/resolved so i went elsewhere who assured me they could fix it. 3 turbos and a change back to standard injectors later, the bucking is still unresolved and putting down 20kW less than the original PT tune, and using way more fuel. Two GCG turbos smashed up the exhaust wheel and VNT mechanism, cause unknown. Exhaust temps weren't excessive. Shaft speed sensor fitted on the most recent turbo showed it was still in a very safe range (25psi @ 150,000rpm). Logs seem to suggest the bucking occurs when the VNT is at the minimum open position. EMP at that time spikes to 65psi while MAP is around 15. Is it the vanes too closed choking the exhaust, causing the shudder, and consequent stress on the vanes which end up breaking up, going through the turbine? Nobody can work it out. Finally its going well enough to trade in. Pity the poor bastard down the road. All said, its been a frustrating affair but ive learned so much along the way doing HP Academy courses and endless hours of googling. I should have stuck with Martin and Gareth but i burnt that bridge by demanding a partial refund lol. Live and learn.
Mine did the same slow traffic on decel thought it mighta been the gearbox giving up or the injector pump doin weird things or even a tune box i had put in it..... I have 100% found the issue with mine it was the throttle controller. If u have a controller give it a go
I do apologise. I really do. I’m not a keyboard warrior but what you are saying is factually incorrect You do not need a dyno to measure the lambda and exhaust temps, boost when tuning. You can tune using the road and looking at the telemetry All the dyno does, is to prove what you are changing, is making a difference in the correct way
