Hel - Norse Goddess of the Viking Underworld | Cinematic Epic Music

- Hel or Hela, Norse Goddess of the dead and the Viking Kingdom of Helheim, is a song that comes from my deepest feelings for Viking music. It is my interpretation for this tribute to the sister of Loki, Fenrir and Jörmungand, sometimes called Helheim.
This mystic Viking music composition will transport you to the majestic landscapes of the Viking world, invoking a sense of awe and reverence for the Divine femininity embodied by Hel. I hope that, through the notes, you will feel the resonance of her power, as her influence extends beyond the mortal realm.
The Kingdom of the dead, named after Hel (or Helheim) is one of the nine Norse Worlds : Asgard, Midgard, Jotunheim, Niflheim, Muscenters, Helheim, Alfheim, Svartalfheim, and Vanaheim.

Hi! When I saw the notification I just had to come and listen to this track right away! This is one of the tracks I was excitedly waiting for, and you of course did an amazing work for Hel (or Hela), the goddess of Helheim. Absolutely love the music, so powerful, mysterious and still at the same time graceful. I could almost see in my head Hel ruling over the vastness of the underworld and the souls of those deemed unworthy of Valhalla and Folkvangr. Like her brothers Fenrir and Jormungandr, she is very powerful and joins the battle of Ragnarok with her undead army. She is a cold and cruel ruler, and it is not quite clear what her appearance is like. Some say she looks like an old woman, other say that her body is half a beautiful woman and the other is like a decaying corpse. This is surely one of my favorite compositions! 🤩

I really loved working on this theme and almost felt like it could sound nice for Freyja. But in the end, I think Freyja needs something brighter and I developed other ideas for Hel.
I wondered for so long how she should look like and indeed found diverse sources about it. I tried many things and found this mysterious quite cold woman standing in front of the gate was an interesting subject. I didn't want to incarnate this version of the underworld through a disturbing or Gloomy figure.
I'm really happy you like this track and I have other tributes in progress (Ragnarök, Loki and Heimdall :)

@ ohhhhh now I'm VERY curious and intrigued for the theme on Ragnarok! I agree with you on the fact that a brighter theme would fit Freyja better, with her being the goddess of lust and love (she's basically the Norse counterpart for Aphrodite). But I feel like she would need it to be fierce too, since she is the queen of the Valkyries, a goddess of war and also associated with magic and sorcery.

I might have asked this already but one on Leviathan would be epic. The ocean of chaos and the dragon have powerful symbolism. I'm not religious nor seeing the being with an Abrahamic lens but the Chaos Kampf would be sweet to have a music track. Also one on Santa Muerte would be beautiful as well.

I used a lot of things for this one ; many choirs from Ethera Gold, Atlantis by Zero G Samples, Men of the North from Cinesamples, Oceania II by Performance Samples and Rhodope II by Strezov Sampling. For the instruments, I used my East West libraries such as Ra, Silk and Hollywood Orchestra, some Drones and untamed instruments by Orchestral Tools, and Heavyocity stuff too like Damage 2 for the percussions, along with Stormdrum 3 (which I always use), and some Audioollie Taste (a light not expensive but great pack with tremendous Toms). Cool that you're starting into making your own stuff with orchestra plugins with FL Studio :))
