Introverts secretly rule the world. We just keep it to ourselves. Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions so well Abbie and for including mine. I was stoked. Keep up the great work. You’re a great young woman.
As per usual, another great video....all I can add is, your parents should be very proud of such a steadfast young lady who, with her troubles, can still put smiles on other’s faces..nice one Abbie. 10/10 👍🏼😊😉☕️
There are very few hiking, backpacking, camping blogs/vlogs/videos that show the difficulties. Most show young, fit, mentally healthy people carrying substantial weights and covering lengthy distances without any sign of fears or discomforts. Abbie, your portrayal of panic attacks, emotional moments and references to back pain etc. Are really valuable. I was particularly thrilled to see you changing your plans on Dartmoor and ringing around for a hostel bed. I was a Scout leader who led hikes with escape routes and alternative routes when l had inexperienced members of the group. With my asthma making me slow uphill l have had to opt out of sunrise hikes in the Alps - l would have needed to leave an hour or two earlier than the group. Now l am stage-walking the Skåneleden 3 with my sons and having to split some stages up because they just would not enjoy it if we pushed through all of the distance all in one day. You reassure me that this type of hiking is 'ok'. It is still hiking if l cover less mileage. It is still backpacking if l stage-hike rather than thru-hike. Thank you for showing your challenges as well as your achievements.
Stumbeld upon your channel a couple of days ago. Your videos have inspired me to take up long distance hiking rather then a simple day hike. Keep up the good work!
Abbie, you've got such guts. You appear to be living exactly the life you want and make money by doing what you enjoy. I have never quite worked that one out and I greatly admire you for it. Also thanks for adding rushes to this video to make it more interesting to watch :)
Not easy to talk about being bullied, I too was bullied at school for 4 years pretty much. I went to a bad school a long time ago back in the mid 90’s. It certainly still effects me now in some situations. You’ve obviously come out of it a strong person and your quite an inspiration to those who have also suffered this.
I just love my own company and travelling at my own pace which is usually really slow that's why I travel solo . No one else can walk as slow as me so they just used to get frustrated and disappear over the horizon. But as I'm retired time is not a factor its the journey for me that matters not the I've done it factor. Like Abbie I'm an early bird , even at home I always rise before 0500
Excellent video, Abbie! I’ve been searching for some new podcasts so I will check out your list of faves! Really enjoyed all the other answers to questions, as well! Thanks for that! Now time to get outdoors ... snowshoeing yesterday and trail hiking today! Gotta love it here in Canada, too! 👍🏼😎
No way!! I've probably watched more than half of all your videos just to discover that you are eating/living plant based! I've love your inspirational videos and your lovely personality but now I might have fallen in love with you 💜🤩😁 I'm vegan as well and am struggling with what food to bring on a day hike (I'm still a beginner so I don't do through hikes, yet) and what kind of gear to buy which is not wool, silk, leather etc. Now I'm going to watch even more of your videos knowing that somewhere there are gonna be my answers.
I love hiking but I am not bothered about super shiny new kit either. It was the same when I played golf, some spend hundreds of pounds on fancy trolleys etc :-) Travel light is the best advice ever. I did 10 days on the camino carrying only 5.5kg, though I was staying in hostels.
Hey, Abbie Eastwood! I've followed your superb youtube videos for some time and have seen all of your personal triumphs and dramas, I have decided to start soon my own hill walking youtube channel after many years of thinking about it due to my own personal dramas!, You are a true inspiration keep moving and stay strong.
Another great video and insightful advice and answers! I LOVE Deliciously Ella’s Podcast, I’ve been following her journey from the very beginning! I’ll have to check out some of the others you mentioned 👍🏼 thank you for all you do!!!
Hey abbie! Brilliant video and I love your stuff. I'm from up north and live near Inverness, just wanted to let you know that uqurhart castle is pronounced uq *flem* Hart castle and drumnadrochit is pronounced drum na dro chit with another flem!
Hi Abbie! I would really recommended Nunney Castle, near Frome in Somerset! If you haven’t been there already that is 😊 One of my favourite castles is Harlech Castle in Snowdonia, have you ever visited?
I like the hooded sweater you have, and i understand how bullying can affect people. I was bullied for a few years for having a speech impediment, I did outgrow it after awhile but i still at 21 years old get anxious about slurring my words or pronouncing a word incorrectly.
If the question was "Is that dog a Westie or a Cairn?" the answer is definitely "Westie". If the question is "Would you choose a Westie or a Cairn?" the answer is definitely "Westie". HTH.
