I was going to ask the exact same question 😂 And it is very frustrating because in "what's new and planned for BC18" there was an item mentioning this feature few weeks ago so I guess it was in the scope but it just disappeared from the page now.
Do you know of any good resources for writing RDLC reports? I feel like every time I try to do so it is always extremely painful and gets nowhere fast.

Then you can create a ReportExtension object and add the fields to the DataSet of the report.

I don't - rdlc is a topic I try to avoid as much as possible :)
I can recommend the book from Steven Renders about reporting.

Is your reportextension in the same extension as where you added the field or are you missing a dependency in app.json?
