We are slowly turning into the old sunderland side who collapse in the second half.

    No gifting Millwall a point.
Millwall carved that out by never never giving up.
Although Sunderland being a bit cautious helped & I can see you drawing a lot now.
Don’t get me wrong 1st half pretty much all Sunderland.
Playing with the 1up is at time kind of had me seething with rage.
2nd half Neil Harris changes things at Millwall & makes the subs, change formation & you get to see what Millwall are really like with a rocket up.
Just wish from my point of view we started that way.
    1-1 fair result.
The 3rd consecutive 1-1 draw at The Den between Millwall & Sunderland.
Best wishes to those taken badly ill.
My prediction is after the game at Sunderland the two could meet again after that, in the pending how you see it the dreaded or wonderful play offs.

Hello Mate. I was seething when I saw the starting lineup, knowing FINALLY, for the first time that all our forwards we fit. Just as we could not believe our luck seeing their absentees, equally, they could not believe their luck seeing we just played with one upfront and with little or no help from Duncann and Honeyman.. We were lucky to be only one down and offered zero threat. THEN he was forced to go nearer the team we all thought would start with Azeez and ,of course, other attackers coming on like Emakhu and Ivanovic and we torally dominated the 2nd half apart from their late breakaway. We,almost, run out of time and bearly woon it but a GOLDEN opportnity missed mate.

    • @Isleofskye
      @Isleofskye 6 дней назад +1

Just realised we used an identical word "SEETHING" to describe our feelings at the lineup. Just like Watford, it was so easy for them with no threat likely to come and it did not.
A totally wasted first 45 minutes.

A Millwall perspective from a fan in his 8th decade.
Having told everyone that we have an embarrassment of attacking riches and knowing that Sunderland lost so many key players and THEN hearing the team I was disappointed and angry because I called it. We would offer little with Josh and Romain having 2 players on them both and??? Nothing, which is, exactly what we offered..
I said it would be 0/0 or 0/1 and THEN he would be forced to attack and play 2 upfront and have to do what he should have done in the first place. He left Azeez out for Whatmore, who lasted 70 minutes(how?), and Tom (great servant but League 1 now,IMO) instead of Langstaff>(how?) and, immediately, with the Subs we looked a threat which grew and grew with every attacking Sub. We could all see Josh was out on his feet and Ivanovic was now on and with Azeez and Emakhu AAT LAST ,we remembered we were at Home and went for it and just after they could have clinched it we got a deserved Draw and nearly won it in the last few seconds.
To summarise.A DRAW, exactly, the right result as they should have been 2/0 at the interval but we dominated the second half and both teams nearly nicked it.
IVANOVIC, COBURN, LANGSTAFF, EMAKHU, AZEEZ and he starts with just ONE of them. We did a great "job" on Leeds and Burnley but this was a GOLDEN opportunity missed.

Leeds fan here. For the first time in my life, I jumped up and punched the air when Millwall scored. That's what you guys have done to me, and I bet 99% of Leeds fans did the same . In the Pub tonight there was a big discussion about you lot and it was agreed that you could be this year's version of Ipswich ie the team that totally exceeds the sum of its individual parts especially considering what's sat on the bench . I'd love us both to go up, maybe along with Sheff U or Boro . Those are big clubs .
Also, I never had any problem with the barcodes up the road from you until this summer on holiday when I met a few at the Euros in Germany . They now think they are something special looking down on clubs like ours . Before long, they will be just a ground full of Chinese or Arab tourists taking videos.

At the last census in 2021 26.6% of the population of Leeds were identified as non white British, the biggest majority being Asian and African and that percentage is increasing all the time. Seems to me by the time you get back to the PL (if U ever do) elland road will be full of foreigners but not tourists as they will all be considered local

Demographics is slow to have any effect in football. Bradford next door has a much bigger non white British population but the crowd at Valley Parade is still 99% white .
A tall handsome 30 goal a season Pakistani heritage number 9 who breaks into the England team would change that though .

Becoming a regular occurrence now. Preston, QPR, Coventry and now Millwall. We just don't turn up second half. We give the opposition a full half to have ball and we try and see the game out. That second half today was shocking, under pressure for 45 minutes. Christ a non league team playing a Premier league team in a Cup Tie would of made more effort. Le Bris stands there and seems he doesn't know how to change anything. As for reading the last couple of weeks that Roberts needs dropping, today just showed how much we rely on this lad to hold the ball up for us.

  • @drefootybomar8792
    @drefootybomar8792 5 дней назад

Yes it's not good to be complacent however, you said it at the beginning of the video that we were up against the wall even before a ball was kicked.
It's not fun to give the game away at the end but at the same time we have to look also at the positives.
We matched Millwall and were better than them for large portions of the game.
There was always going to be a drop off later in the game due to us being so thin.
Yeah it would be great to be gung-ho all the time but that's not reality with the injuries and suspensions we've had.
It's fine to be concerned but it's not the end of the world. We are in great shape and we're getting players back.
Let's not lose it during a bad patch, let's only get behind the lads and urge them on to greater success.

Yep I would have taken the point at 3.00pm. But, first 40 there was only one winner and that was us. Not sure what happened after those 2 poor spectators needed first aid but they were a different team for the last few minutes and most of the second half. Mind you, they still don't take prisoners down there do they? Thought the ref was pretty poor.
IMO we needed subs on afetr 60 minutes but just got Aleksic for the injured (surprise, surprise) Connolly.Lost of good 1st half performances up front but just the defence shone after that.

There are many very angry Millwall fans but all 6 of our strikers(unlike Burnley/Leeds and before) were, finally, fit and he plays one upfront with little support and all around at the game called it. We would go behind and then he would be forced to play the attacking team we all wanted.
Sunderland, despite their depleted lineup, deserved to be 2/0 up at halftime as we offered nothing in the first half, predictably but once the attackers came on, we dominated and both teams, nearly, nicked it at the end. Draw the right result. Good Luck.

Have we got Jose Southgate in charge? I've been banging on about the apparent fact that we hold what we have a policy since the Derby game. Today, we conceded due to one of our few forays into the wall half., that makes it all the more maddening if you're going to hold on then do it properly. The goal was totally preventable. No need for Luke O to maraude forward at that stage of the game. Out of position, he tries and fails to stop the game on the halfway line then jogs back relising to late he had to sprint back . This pulled people across and left the back post unguarded. If he'd been on the ball and sprinted just a little earlier he would've cut the bross out..I'm a big fan of Luke but that was piss poor.
Overall given all the changes it was a decent point but the second half was fucking annoying..

The only positives is that's 9 unbeaten now and we're still top, ultimately this another missed opportunity and 2 points dropped again, don't get me wrong before the game I would've took a point all day long especially when we've got 6 key players missing and we take the lead and we hang onto it until the last 3 minutes and then we throw it away, I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to say this, as much as I do like Le Bris and he's done a really good job so far, he needs to be questioned for why do we keep sitting back in the 2nd half of matches, it's not just the last few games we've been doing it for a while now but we were getting away with it before but now our luck is starting to run out, yes u could say it's a positive to get a result with all these players unavailable but if u look at the bigger picture that's 4 draws in a run now and the last 3 haven't been good enough results wise, for me we've got to beat West Brom on Tuesday, we're at home and we need to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible cos at the moment we're not playing like a top 2 contender and to be honest the way we're playing and results wise it's barely top 6 form, we're just lucky that nobody wants to get promoted this season, the positive for West Brom is having Jobe, Roberts and Hume back
