Darkest Hour is the best WW2 strategy game and anyone who likes HOI4 needs to try it out. So much more freedom to do what you want than any other WW2 game I've played. More scenarios, longer time line, better mechanics, etc. You can do shit like start in 1932 and make Germany Communist before the Nazi's ever come to power and it makes for such a great game. Only thing that might turn people off is that the visuals are dated.

He fears thier entire plot was sold out, but he still loyally returns to thier predesignated regrouping spot. He's extreme disheartened when suddenly a car passes by the coffee shop he's in. He can't believe his eyes, it's the guy he is plotting to kill, but oh no, he's passed by too fast, you missed him again. UNTIL HE PULLS RIGHT BACK IN FRONT OF YOU AND STOPS 10 FEET FROM WHERE YOURE SITTING AGAIN. It honestly seems like a story that time traveler's tell to let other time traveler's know that shouldn't try to change history. Ferdinand was just meant to die that day, fate wasn't having it.
That reminds me, Germany pulled some Looney Toons sh!t in WW2. Their Bunkers would have Air vents, which is obviously a risk since all's you would need to do to clear out a bunker is to drop a grenade in the vent. What Germany did to counter this was making the Air vent slanted, so if a grenade was chucked in, it wouldn't go into the bunker, then they made a secondary hole in the vent that went out the bottom. So basically, let's say your running up the beaches of Normandy, you've dodged thousands of MG42 rounds and mortar shells, you reach the small air vent on the side of the enemy bunker. You quickly grab a grenade, pull the pin, and chuck it into the vent. After 2 seconds, you happen to glance down at your feet, only to see that same grenade you threw, right at your feet.
You forgot the guy who tried to use the expired cyanide then tried to jump into a river to escape. Said river was dried up and only a few inches deep…..

On the one side is the Quing empire (or the military clique controlling it) as a german client state, on the other is Zhang Zuolin's Fengtian Republic, which is a japanese client, though one a lot more independent than OTL Manchukuo. How actually loyal either of them are to their sugar daddies is... questionable. And then there's the whole mess of warlords and the left and right wings of the KMT all over the south and west of the country whom are all kinda doing their own things and can get involved in the rivalry between the two big boys or make their own plays. It's a giant confusing mess is what I'm trying to say.

There’s a novel called “gray tide in the east” that’s about the central powers winning ww1 and there also one called “The Austrian Painter: What if Germany won ww1” which is about a German soldier’s life in the post war timeline. I highly recommend checking out both of them.
Honestly I don't think alternative history timelines like this work well for movies, because either the viewer doesn't know what's exactly going on or there is a crazy amount of exposition needed. The American civil war might be the best setting, all others I see running into some major problems

This is why Kaiserreich is my favorite alternate history of all time. It's so detailed and interesting and experiments with so many different alternate history scenarios using a German WW1 victory as a jumping off point. This one nearly 30 minute epic still only scratches the surface of the world that the Kaiserreich team built, every single country in the world has it's own unique and interesting story to tell, no matter how big or small. And that is something that I can't help but admire. Seriously, whoever reads this, please look into the ingame history of some of the countries that aren't discussed as much in this video like Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Ethiopia, Australasia, Mongolia, Argentina, Spain etc... I agree. I’d prefer a book that’s adapted into a video game. I just think video games can tell a longer and more complex story. Just my opinion
There’s a novel called “gray tide in the east” that’s about the central powers winning ww1 and there also one called “The Austrian Painter: What if Germany won ww1” which is about a German soldier’s life in the post war timeline. I highly recommend checking out both of them.
Honestly I don't think alternative history timelines like this work well for movies, because either the viewer doesn't know what's exactly going on or there is a crazy amount of exposition needed. The American civil war might be the best setting, all others I see running into some major problems

Rick Bergolla It kind of does though, since the US reverts to a sort of state parliamentary system whenever there are more than 2 parties (Congress elects the president by majority votes of the states if nobody gets a majority of delegates). If you seriously have multiple partied competing for the presidency (rather than the Democratic-Populist alliance you’re refering to), feelings of legitimacy get hurt pretty fast.

This is why Kaiserreich is my favorite alternate history of all time. It's so detailed and interesting and experiments with so many different alternate history scenarios using a German WW1 victory as a jumping off point. This one nearly 30 minute epic still only scratches the surface of the world that the Kaiserreich team built, every single country in the world has it's own unique and interesting story to tell, no matter how big or small. And that is something that I can't help but admire. Seriously, whoever reads this, please look into the ingame history of some of the countries that aren't discussed as much in this video like Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Ethiopia, Australasia, Mongolia, Argentina, Spain etc... I promise that if you enjoyed this video, the stuff on these other countries will serve as a real kicker.
