- Опубликовано: 15 окт 2024
- Near an old gold mine entrance we find hoards of high grade ore with gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead and barite. The mine was struck on several volcanic massive sulfide deposits. Sulfides present are chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite, pyrite in quartz or barite gangue.

great day out fam. glad to see you back at it. GOLD SQUAD OUT!!!
@Monster & ms monster Michelle todd just trying to learn as much as I can to find that AU fam.
woww.... found the gold ore left by the miners. good luck mate.
The quartz pieces with mineral inclusions that you are throwing back down on the ground at the end of this video would make great cabochon stones. Keep us rock-hounds out here in your thoughts and sell us some of these. Can I be the first in line?
I'm sure a lot of that stuff is super common to them, and they probably throw stuff on the ground that most of us barely ever get to see or find. They have plenty of really good claims that have an embarrassment of riches as far as minerals and quartz goes. They live in an area where you can literally pick up solid hunks of chalcopyrite and quartz off the side of the road. VMS deposits are abundant on the Vancouver Island and the West Coast of Canada . They just live in a really great place. Personally, I would love to live there in the warm months of the year, and move south into California or something for the Winter, if I had enough money to do so.
I have very beautiful rocks out of many colors types and forms
@@marvinwillems262 Do you have a website? I do enjoy all your videos and I am a subscriber thank you.
Cabochon stones? Pardon my ignorance but aren't they strictly made of gemstones no?
I want the last rock you were holding in the video. Good show.
Some of that gold laced quartz, cut & polished, makes beautiful jewelry! 😁🇨🇦♥️🇨🇦
Yeah I've been there and saw it too!!! Now could you remind me exactly where this was on the map???
first you go over the mine dump with a good gold metal detector.
i have mined high grade gold ore by scanning a mine with metal detectors. and drilling and blasting hot spots.
dirty mud covered gold ore is hard to see the gold in it.
so in a high grade mine many small pieces went out to the dumps with the waste muck.
also at many small underground mines they piled ore near the portal ready to be shipped to a mill. when they got around 10 tons they shipped. at the start of WW2 The mines and mill were shut down and to this day these ready to ship ore piles still set there unless someone like me found and hauled them off to mill.
i at 73 years old am still finding these piles and if my metal detector find pieced of gold in them i call a old miner friend and we go and load them in a pickup and haul them to his backyard mill.
the first one i found 50 years ago ran 4.5 oz per ton.
This is beautiful! Worth tons more in the stone like that
Loved your video .....can you believe these were the old prospector's tailings? Ayos Mios!!!!! Lol......
Old mine dumps are always interesting to look at
Gold to ya !
Good video guys thanks
Nice looking samples. Thanks for showing them to us.
So this material was left behind in the dump because it was too difficult to separate the copper from the zinc back in the day? Or too costly? How about today? Is it easier to do with todays technology or is it just more valuable so the profit margins are bigger? Please elaborate.
Don't know about how they used to do it back in the day but nowa days ots really straight forward. The metallurgist do try and keep things optimal but it's not really a problem. Also Zinc was not really that valuable until the 1980s if I remember correctly, so I wouldn't be surprised if the miners just ignored ore that had too mutch of it. It's seen alot with old timer things, gold is a classic example, on North Queensland (aus) there is a backlog of assays from labs because old mines are being found and retested with as much as 7 to 10 times profitable grades.
They didn't mine zinc back then, they were charged smelter fees if there was zinc basically rendering a lot not worthwhile so it was tossed in dumps. They really only took the chalcopyrite based ore with nothing else in it. They also high graded to maintain shipping grades of 5% copper or more with no zinc content so anything under 5% copper was discarded or anything with high zinc even if there was good copper was tossed. The reserves left in the mines is insane and likely to be 2x more than is recorded.
Can you identify that shiny reddish material? There was a recent landslide in the silver (formerly gold) district in my area and it is loaded with sulfides AND heaps of that shiny red stuff. Like everywhere and I can't figure out what it is.
Time stamp 2:59 in your video has a smaller amount on the exterior of the rock you're holding.
It's not just the iron oxidising is it? Idk I'm not an expert but in the area I'm currently in there's alot of red oxidisation in the quartz and soil from the iron. Some a very very rich, and quite pretty, red.
It's one of the things I look for when trying to find gold rich spots.
But again, im no expert. ))
Paydirt sales? Samples for sale? Free Samples if postage is paid?? (A girl can DREAM, can't i)
Omg the pieces at the end 😍
Hi what is the name of this mine ?
So how would one go about this🤔electrowin the zinc to reduce volume. Then go after the copper/gold?
Crushing, roasting, flotation to produce concentrates of Pb, Cu and Zn. Then cyanide leach of the pyrite material to extract the gold. The concentrates are sold to a smelter, but if there is arsenic or mercury, they apply penalties to your concentrates. The electrowinning is done by the smelter companies.
pretty good background in rockery there guy, good info and thanks for sharing!
Absolutely mouthwatering 🕊
Does your metal detector pick up any signals in these mine dumps?
I was going to ask the same question??
Weeeell. now.... I appreciate every single video with the same rocks...... same rocks or not i may cancel just to re subscribe lolol. So good on ya for another great video.
When you say it is 'high grade mineral' are you actually saying it hold good gold or just minerals in general?
The ore pictured is a chalcopyrite based ore in a gangue of quartz. The chalcopyrite holds gold at 19.98g/ton and silver at 174g/ton and obviously with chalcopyrite you have copper which was about 11%. So high grade mineral but based on the gold alone it would be considered high grade. I'd imagine we have samples up to double those grades based on historic work.
@@911mining Thanks for the clarification. I often wondered if you were 'talking in code'. lol
Cool video- as you've said in other vids your job generally is to locate & assess deposits. In your opinion, what is the likelihood of mining ever returning to some of these areas if only to reclaim waste piles? I know ultimately it's about profitability, but was curious about your opinion.
Don't want to say to much but of any of our properties the probability is highest for this one.
@@911mining Ok, thanks for quick response!
@@911mining Very impressive. Well done. Great place to start with old mines.
@@911mining Do you guys set up any stalls at the major gem & mineral shows?
The thumb nail you showed looks like the last remaining ore from the Dutchmans mine
Can you make a video of how to process the material?
Is that the mine connected to your last video when you were searching an old dump or is it another site?
Either way congrats on the amazing find guys.
Wow, beautiful!!
I would love some of those samples. Especially with the copper
What are the values like on material like this??
Do you ever conduct mining operations yourself or do you mostly prospect for ore bodies.
Well done!
In Northern BC I came across some dark red heavily oxidized quartz I was hunting nephrite so I only took a few samples when I crushed/panned it had some nice fine gold but its not worth the effort as its in the mountains near the Omineca River . Only problem with these areas in BC some are abundant with resources but take a good investment to setup operations . Really enjoy your videos thank you for sharing your adventures.
Samples collected & shown aren't commensurate with lead in photo
I know NOTHING about looking for gold... but this is interesting? What are you looking for to indicate there may be gold around?
Took you long enough to pick up these claims. IIRC, didn't they expire in 2020 or did I happen to read that website we both use during it's period when some good until dates were messed up? Also knowing where this is makes it more fun, haha. It's like watching a movie filmed in your hometown where you get to spot landmarks! I won't spoil it though.
We renewed and purchased theses one, they were dead center in the middle of our 1700 hectare claim block.
Always a good find somewhere, just have to look in the right place. Take care.
Lot of that was left behind as it was to hard to process. Hard of the mills ,, difficult and expensive to process and extract the metals .
The issue here was 1% copper was equal to 15% zinc. So all the zinc ore was tossed regardless of what else was in it, zinc was considered an impurity.
@@911mining Oh dang , yea down here in Oregon lower cascade range we keep the zinc , for what ever reason there is good gold held in the zinc .
Nice mine dump 😁👌
What are you going to do with this ?
What do you do with the pieces that don't have gold in them but may have copper or zinc? Is there a market for those?
Throw in trash
Course there is. I worked in a copper, lead, zinc and iron mine laboratory for years analysing the ore. And twas a very profitable mine.
Of course whether this guy would have the know how and equipment to make it worthwhile and profitable, (or any small time prospector) or whether there's even enough of it there for it..... I don't know. Doubt it though.
Where is this at
Superb video eh!
You should be able to get more than a little bead of gold out of some of those ore rocks.
It’s just pyrite?… not gold bearing
Pyrite can be gold bearing. That's what you find here prescious and base metal sulfides.
Waww..Gold everywhere..If I get such gold nugget then what sud I do? thank you
good location, good material. spirit...!
You threw down several very nice mineral samples....
Good job sir
Nice hunk of a rock
When you say 10% copper, I assume you mean by weight? Or is is volume?
The sample would assay at 10% copper.
Got those found allot
Very nice 👌
Obviously, finding the highest grade gold deposits is priority #1 because of how valuable gold is, but my personal favorite finds are still pure Crystals of Azurite and Malachite. I certainly wouldn't scoff at a beautiful hunk of quartz with lots of gold crystals running through it, but the deep electric blue of the Azurite crystals is such an amazing sight. So rare to see that color in nature. Not many things produce such a vibrant blue like the Azurite does. The Malachite crystals are amazing too. They have an awesome color in its own right, and both are rare finds, but the Azurite is absolutely my personal favorite. I hope to be able to find a chunk of all 3 for myself one day, even if they are small ones.
Mine dump at jerome az😉👍
@@tinsoffish1810 Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I'm all the way across the country in NY, but I have some family in AZ, so maybe I'll make a trip out there one day to try and score a chunk of one of the beautiful copper crystals.

Muito bom bonito de mais 💯👏👏🤝👍
I have followed this channel from the beginning, and I'm amazed at how this man has become a human assay machine.
Kind of cool, but a little bit creepy. Rock on.
If one is very good at their trade, there's nothing creepy about that.
When you have done a ton of geochemical work in a specific area you can sort of judge average grades of a mineralized system, deposit or dump. While grades change you can determine based on mineral make up what it would be roughly. Then again there's always surprises.
How are you able to tell its only chalcopyrite and not Gold as well? Im just a beginner and I would have I hit the mother lode if I found that stuff! Lol
Güzel harika cevher
И что это было?
Looks more like leaveright to me. leaveright there, and start looking for gold.
that is pyrite
Where the gold?

nice beautiful... keren mantap 👍👍👍👍🇮🇩
Where's the gold? Lol clickbait af
Gold runs with the chalcopyrite. Mines produced well over a million grams of gold. Not counting, silver, copper, lead, zinc. I don't think people understand only about 0.000001% of golds found as giant free milling gold chunks. 😉
@@911mining ok and you mentioned the word gold absolutely 0 times in the whole video. any average person who clicks on it, they aren't going to know that with what you say in your video. which is obviously what your aiming for uisng a click bait title like you did, if you want rock ppl, wich you must assume by leaving me a comment like that, use a title saying you found chalcopyrite and put in brackets (contains gold) there now you have a proper title. because they absolutely did NOT leave "high grade gold ore" everywhere in this video AT ALL. Nor is the word gold even said in this whole video.
Raw gold ore is measured in grams per ton and if your saying its .0000000000% gold it is most DEFINTEILY no where fucking near "high grade" more like "they left ore everywhere and if i collected a few ton of this i MIGHT get a gram of gold, but it will be worth -$10000 after i buy the machinery and chemicals needed to do so"
