    Have been re-learning how to do stuff in SolidWorks and this really helped me when my part was made with so many sketches which were entwined & not and i wanted to split it in half. Thanks alot.

    Hi there, unable to save the cut bodies file name, says the name is invalid.
    obviously its saving in .sldprt format but still unable to save it

    I am sure you are very good with SW. The next time try to do it even faster, so we cannot understand anything you have done. Do you have slow motion available.

    how did you just simply convert an entity without doing it in a sketch? it just made a new sketch for you? It won't work for me

    Great tutorial, exactly what I needed! When I split a part and give them names to make them independant parts, I then edited the split parts from the original assembly but the split parts don't update If I open up their independant file, any ideas how to fix this? Cheers

      What has worked for me is that I suppress the stock body in the derived parts and then unsuppress it. Then the changes get reflected

    How the hell do you split or trim a sheet metal part, or is that not possible?

      Right click on any tab (Features, Sketch....) and add "Direct Editing"
