  • Yaron Pe'er | Leat Sabbah
Winter sun - Afgani Rabab & Cello
From the album 'For You Alone'
    Composition: Yaron Pe'er
Recoreded at Jerusalem Music Center by Zvika Hirshler
    Video: Yanai Ya'akov Levin
    מתוך הפרוייקט ׳For you alone׳

The Rabab is showing up more and more everywhere, and I couldn't be happier! I began falling in love with the people and culture of Afghanistan about 40 years ago when studying Music Composition and Comparative Religion. I had only begun to learn about this magnificent country when the Russian tanks began rolling in,and I have been carrying a torch in my heart ever since. It seemed around 2010 that we had turned a corner, but now the rebirth of Afghan music - let alone peace and safety, is hanging by a thread still. I can't do enough to promote Afghan music and the hope for the future of the Afghan people. For those who enjoyed this, there's so much more! Please, check out some of my favorites:Ajmal Omid, his brother Aimal Omid,Farhad Darya,Qais Essar,Saiid Sayaad,Marjan Farsad..I'll stop here - but there's so many more! Peace,Prosperity and Freedom to Noble Afghanistan!

      Dear Dombrowski!
I'm wholeheartedly grateful for the good thoughts and wishes for my country and its people. Afghan was a very diversified, liberal and religiously peaceful society but foreigners extremists and global powers turned our country into ruins. I so wish to see it back on it's feet

Why do people think a country at war is not a country?

I am from kandahar afghanistan i got out in 1983 but i had friends witch almost every Thursday they will play music we will always get warnings from mujaheddin we were scared but we still played. one of my friend was playing rabab , banjo, harmunium and tabla he was master of all those instruments. some of those good friends are not alive some are far away bullets rockets bombs everything was going on but we had fun i miss those good friends and rabab i can never forget one knight 4 of us were playing cards but the rabab player start playing rabab it was just rabab no tabla he was playing and we stop playing cards we just keep quite and his head was down he played like for half hour when he stopped he raised up his head he was crying the tone was amazing now some times i think i am lucky to be alive and whenever i talk with a friend we talk about those times

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27)
I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. (Isaiah 66:4)
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5)
