She started out as a country music act. Country music fans are notoriously loyal and country acts usually last two or three times as long as mainstream music acts. Many mainstream acts never get a chance to record even a second or third album. Country acts are often still considered newcomers/newbies when on their 2nd or 3rd or 4th album already. Mainstream likes to say pop and rock acts go to country to die but just as often they get embraced and are reborn and extend their careers successfully by several decades. Mainstream acts tend to burn out or disappear in as little as 5 to 10 years, while so many country acts are still around 2 3 or 4 decades later, the kind of longevity only super groups/icons like Cher tend to enjoy on the mainstream side. Even when country acts fade off radio touring usually keeps them going another ten or twenty years, and so many acts get huge playing county fair sized venues and they can easily go back to that if needed later in their careers and some deliberately choose never to go into stadium level touring unless it’s as part of a multi headliner special jointly put together show/tour for the fans benefit. Some artists prefer the smaller venues for stability and security and smaller crowd sizes and more intimate venues and feel and different acoustics. Taylor kept most of her country fans when she crossed over and has gained popularity rock contemporary and folk music fans along the way, she’s going to have a ton of longevity and be able to keep touring and performing however long she pleases and take breaks as needed and do whatever she likes and now she owns her music again outright no one has any pull or leverage over her to force her to do things their way or try to pull her strings anymore it’s great.
@@remcharts ohhhh that makes so much sense, I hate it when RUclips copyrights the music. WHY DOES RUclips HAVE TO BE SO FAMILIAR WITH TAYLORS SONGS ARGHHH
Taylor’s music is notorious for not being copyright friendly towards content creators. I’ve had friends lose their entire channels from just using snippets of her music.
1989 was around 27 million but when 1989 tv was released I think the creator mix the numbers in So because of this that's why 1989 skyrocketed because of 1989 tv
The longevity of Taylor is insane

KATY✨
Both are queens but the beat in the background is FIRE
Also I am late by a a mile
This is not even close omg. But to be fair, no one in this era can match Taylors numbers in total. Not even Adele.
1989 is dat B
I find it a crime to put on all the Katy Perry songs while its Katy vs Taylor, that seems like favouritism

Of course forever and always Katy Perry❤❤❤
Katy Perry is more a single artist I think
In what planet 1989 sold 30m+ albums? Lol
literally 😭
1989 was around 27 million but when 1989 tv was released I think the creator mix the numbers in
So because of this that's why 1989 skyrocketed because of 1989 tv
They combined TV which is kinda unfair
This is why pure sales should only count for album/record sales.
Without the TV , 1989 has around 29/30M alone +6M (TV) = 34/35M All versions.
Katy ❤
