If they are use to being barefoot it wont bother them. I have a Fresian and an Indian paint, when I kept shoes on them they would slip on the asphalt. I kept shoes off of them for atleast a year...they would run up a huge hill that was gravel...drwy to the house and one to another pasture and barn. It never fazed em. Took em on the rd they wanted to open up... and we never looked back. Mustangs in the wild run on rock and clay thats as hard as concrete and it never bothers them.

@@realreggie69 All horses are different. Some have tough feet. But there hooves weren't made for pavement. Mustang's don't live on pavement. Hard pounding on pavement will eventually take its toll .Ever look at the padded shoes on city carriage horses? Thanks

@@GALLEN-vf7uy I enjoy watching y’all. I don’t have horses but sure miss them. I respect your passion. My only suggestion is to stay centered in your saddle. Having had a walker, I was often wanting to lean a bit to watch shoulder/leg action. This tended to throw her enough off balance which would throw her gate into a canter.
Would love to ride with you guys.
