Hi, I'm a photography student from Belgium, wrapping up my second year in fine arts. It's great to observe how fellow art students approach their work, even if it's not in photography. I like the questions you ask troughout the video, the way you think is quite intriguing. The way you want to try new things to lift your work to the next level is really nice, it motivates me to keep pushing on my projects too.. By the way, I enjoyed the final outcome; the title neatly connects everything. Keep up the good work!
@rayasimpao2819 Thanks for sharing thus. Can you share how you come.upmwotj new ideas? And how donyou nkt get bkred.and tired working on the same.tgojg for so.long? I dealmwith depression and it's causing ADHD so it's hard. Thanks for sharing.
love the quietness, and your art process, the piece is so beautiful with the question you posed, when was the last time I was really angry? just lovely, thank you
I cant believe I haven't found about this channel earlier, I also love using mixed media and I have a similar style! Your art is so beautiful and I really like the calm , no music atmosphere in this video :-D
Dear Miss Simpao, please accept my kudos for both your video share and the art work itself. Watching your process was captivating and informative. And as for the resulting piece, I think it is gallery worthy. Continue to follow your calling; your talent demands expression. Be brave and allow your voice to leave its mark on our world. thank you for sharing, Raya. i miss stretching canvas on frames. love watching you work and think. maybe some day i will find the courage to make art again 🎈love you✨

Looks pretty cool! Did your teachers say anything about technical aspects of the painting? Like, will the glue hold figures for a long time? Also, do you use something on top of the painting? 👀
During critique we don’t really discuss the technical aspects of the work so nothing was said about that! But our painting department has really good technologists/ materials advisors that I usually seek help from. Also nothing has been added on top of the painting yet :)
Hi! I try to collect some wherever I go but usually the RISD store (my school store), Blick, Hardware stores, craft stores. I recently went to Japan and the store Itoya was paper heaven. I also keep my eye out for napkins with interesting patterns, wrapping paper, etc.
I'm a second year student at RISD and they do! Though I always have room for improvement in terms of anatomy, I do think sometimes other things take precedence over accuracy, such as emotion & feeling, memory, etc. I try not to fight against it, although other people may have different preferences.
@@commodoor6492 I’m sorry about that, but that’s no reason to hate the school! they are quite selective and can’t pick everyone. your grandson may have been great, but as always, there are people who will be better. so I suggest you don’t go hating on the school, they are still a great institution, even if they didn’t accept your grandson
I personally like that there isn't any music, I find it peaceful
has a very klimt-y charm to it!
agreed
I was thinking the same thing fr
yesssss
I love the use of mixed media and layering canvas here. I’m starting art school in the fall and this is very inspiring to me :)
I really like the black screen with the text in between scenes, it makes it feel like chapters in a book. Would totally buy one of your pieces !
love this so much omggg the style reminds me of frida and klimt its so beautiful 🤍🤍🤍

Beautiful painting. I can’t help but think of Gauguin.
Interesting, i see more off klimt and degas
@@MASI1212 klimt was my first thought too
I like this piece! gained another follower
Have you thought of sewing your figures onto the canvas? could be really interesting imo
I've been experimenting with fabric and quilting so this is a great idea to try!
beautiful work

Do you use thinned oil paints instead of acrylic paints?
The pasted-up paper and Gauguin-style painting are amazing!
I've been using thinned oil paints but am now wondering if acrylic would be better. Working on a painting now with acrylic! We'll see how it goes
Wonderful! Thank you!
I like it ❤
Nice!
nice 🖌💖
music is awesome! thank for sharing this video
loveeeee
i loved watching this. i have a question. what are some examples of places you get paper from?

klimt-style 😚
coolz
which school is that for? don't they teach any anatomy?
huh?

The charm of your two figures speak to me as they are formed; a more formal anatomy never entered my mind as the viewer of this very excellent piece.
What school?
Great
she paints but never gets any on herself--how?
Nice one. just a personal comment, wish the head piece is more connected to the body, and make the colour more matching.
I hate risd!!!!
why?
@@blackwaterlily14 they rejected my grandson

After the amount of money I have donated to the school, I have the right to hate them for not admitting my talented grandson!
@@commodoor6492 oh, im sorry that you had to donate money and he still didn’t get admitted. i hope he gets into another school of his choice!
I don't like it, made me feel sick
