People in these comments! This lady did a great job describing the culture in a minutes time. No lies told! All the wannabes Stop the cap please! One black group claims we are moors only. The other says we are Hebrew only. The other says we are Muslim only. The other says we are Native American only. Neither of you know the traditions language or the culture of Geechee or the Gullah clearly! If u did you would know the type of rice farming we preformed, the basket weaving we used, the cauldron pots we created, the obayi, hoodoo, wanga, and juju we practiced all comes from west and central Africa. Real Geechee know we mixed with mound builders of Native American decent but we are more then just one type of people. Predominantly we are west African culturally 🤷🏾♂️ black American culture is so rich and we don’t need poor excuses or lies from those who want to look similar to cultures they envy smh

I'm from the Gullah Geechie Region. Savannah Ga to be exact. I just recently found out that they were aboriginal natives. Recently meaning about 10 years ago.

I’m Geechee and denying our African aspect is foolish. We are definitely mixed with natives of America but rice farming we brought comes specifically from west Africa. Juju, hoodoo, wanga, and obayi we brought comes specially from west Africa. Our words and language are a mix of west African and indigenous American dialect. People got stop the cap and religious zealous toward some new wave ideology of being only aboriginal American smh got black folks calling us , Hebrew, Israelites, indigenous Americans when we come from stocks that are indigenous to the entire world not just a region 🤷🏾♂️
