Jrue over Jamal is one of the nastiest casual takes I've heard on here. Jrue was the 4/5th option on the celtics, and he was getting graded by 5th option standards. We saw what it looks like when Jrue is in Jamal's position, and his efficiency is the same as Jamal's was this year banged up. Jrue been getting overrated like crazy since boston won, its gotta stop.
It’s mostly just championship hangover or high from fans now atp I’ve seen many fans now saying that KP is over bigs like Bam and AD just based off this year lol. Next year when Boston actually plays good teams in playoffs their players limitations will be exposed.

Although I think there is still a good argument that Jrue is better. Both guys are really more SG than PG although Jrue's results as a primary against bench units are much stronger.
Because of the defense and versatility Jrue is going to work better on more team constructions than Jamal

I’m not saying I have Jrue over Jamal but Jrue has been a #1 option and we haven’t seen Jamal do that. I also had Jrue over Middleton as the second most important Buck in the title run. It’s def an argument. Jrue also has been a #1 option before. When it was his team, it looked good. But like they mentioned, more recently he didn’t look good as a #1 option. It’s crazy to me that people love to bring the Shai 30pt games at 51 and point to him being a more consistent scorer than Luka. When Luka scored 50 games of 30pts in less games and beat Shai in 40, 50, 60 and 70pt games. Luka is the most consistent scorer and has the higher ceiling.
SGA is a better all around player its 2 sides of the Ball and they Both average 30 +

Whereas the defense is a bigger and bigger deal the deeper you go.
The point about consistency is more about how reliant Luka is on threes. It leads to more variability
@@michaelahurt Luka’s shot diet definitely has been more jumper heavily vs what it was when he first came to the league. But I wouldn’t say he’s reliant on it. He shot 38% on 10.5 attempts, it’s a plus that raises his ceiling, it shouldn’t be a minus on his reliability as a scorer. He’s still one of the best post players, players finishing at the rim, points in the paint, etc . He’s efficient in all areas of the floor and has every move possible.
@@michaelahurt With regards to the defense, Luka made huge improvements on that end this year. The issue in the Boston series besides the injury is the problems they pose by having 5 players that can dribble, drive, pass and shoot 3s. And Luka had to put more energy on offense because nobody else, including Kyrie was scoring early in that series. I honestly thjnk the team was just worn down. You can see plays at the start of game 5 with Luka pushing the ball and Kyrie and PJ staying behind and not running back with him. Allowing White and Brown to triple team Luka. Boston just played harder than the Mavs and had the experience of being in a Finals to know what it takes.
One thing you also have to consider is intangibles, Luka is constantly complaining and not giving 100% effort whereas Shai is never rattled and never blames anyone but himself.

It’s close but I think Brunson should be in third over curry. I think a lot of the curry stuff is theoretical at this point. If curry played at the level Brunson did last year the warriors would have made the playoffs. Brunson is not better than curry was the year prior but if we are going off last season I think Brunson is stamped top three

These dudes think a career 23/5/5 guy in SGA is a more consistent scorer than a career 29/9/8 guy in Luka who is younger than SGA. They are putting so much weight on these 51 games of 30pt games when Luka had 50 of them himself in less games. And had more 40, 50, 60 and 70 point games as well.

If you take away Luka's PnR game is he actually any better as an iso mid-range guy than Shai? No. He's not. And Luka is a significantly worse on and off ball defender.
Luka _is_ better but if in the playoffs when teams can take away the thing that _makes_ Luka better than Shai, that gives Shai the edge.
The difference with Jokic is 1) Joker is a more efficient scorer and 2) where he and Luka attack from. Yeah they have some similarities but they aren't the same player. They are very different. One is a center and one is a PG
@michaelahurt luka played good not great but he also see somewhat hampered he still got to his spots when he wanted.. The biggest difference was the blocked out the corner 3 for the role players and shut down Kyrie.. Once that happened dallas were toast.. Luka was still better than Shai.. OKC should have a better team though so if they dont make the nba finals shai is probably overrated

The injuries are fair but SGA was a more efficient scorer in the regular season too, not just in the playoffs.
Luka's advantage is the playmaking. Shai is a (very slightly) better mid-range scorer, better rim pressure, better defender.
