I'm on my third set of these tyres on my 650 Vstrom ,they're brilliant tyres, good grip from the start didn't need much scrubbing in at all, and good mileage, and never had any grip issues in any weather!
Yes ... I think so as well ! I have these on both my 79 CB650's ... just a great all around tire. I have hit the 2750 mile mark on these ... Still looking good !
hey man i have aprilia pegaso 650 its has the same engine with your GS i really like cornering and use it more like a sport touring that an on/off bike can you get some bigger cornering angle?
10/25/21 UPDATE !!!!!!!!!! I have 6500 miles on them !!!! WOW I really think I can get 9 to10,000 miles ! Now I do have side boxes and do two up about 1/3 of the time
I don't ride my CB650 hard though corners . . . That being side I do ride SPORTY ... THey work for sporty riding but I'm sure a REAL sport tire would do much better. I would say this is a 80 on road 20 dirt / off road tire
The experience of 3 sets of Tourance tires: excellent on dry or tarmac in the rain but they hate slippery country roads. I much prefer the Dunlop Mutant
Thank You. I had I think two videos of me just going through my local town. These tires are on that bike. You can't see them as I just using a gopro on helmet. Really not much to the video LOL just going through town. These are great tires for a cafe or scam build bike.
@@aldra744 TRUTH ..... there is no great everything tire. A good sand tire will have like a paddle type fin tread ... A good loose dirt and sand tire will have a large center block 90deg. to the side . All the above doesn't make for a good road tire... These tires are what I would call a 70% road tire with 30% lite offroad. I have used them on hard packed dirt ... ( some loose dirt here or there ) but nothing that is deep loose dirt. Gravel ..... Didn't really like the large gravel feel ... but I don't think any tire likes the large stone gravel as it pops out from the tire as it goes over it. Just standard road stone like a 40 stone these are ok for. Gravel packed into drit .. like older packed fire roads where the stone is bedded in...no problem. loose stone is ok as long as it's not too deep. Again, anything that is loose and deep these tires will fall short. If you get a tire that will do well in very loose deep stuff it will be a BAD road tire. Best way of putting their tire is.... These are good tires for a bike that you want to take on a camping trip. Or you live near a paved road but have a few miles of gravel road up to your home. Nice when on the paved roads ...road noise isn't too bad. They do make some noise. but not like a dirt/sand tire. those rumble and ride ruff due to the tread. Nice on packed or lite grave roads These are good tires for lite off-road use. go by the % of time your off road. 70% on road with 30% lite off road.. I think these a great for that. If you spend more time off roading .... let's say 50/50 paved/dirt there are other treads out there to fit that bill. You have to live with the tradeoff that the truth. these are 70/30 tires and are great for that type of riding !!! THANKS AGAIN ... HOPE THIS HELPS !!!!!
Привет из Сибири! Скажите пожалуйста, где произведены шины ваши? Вчера купил комплект, а на резине написано что сделано в Китае, стоил ли опасаться, как считаете?
Just got these installed on my other 79 CB650 .... YA I KNOW ... Two 79 CB650 !!! WHAT !! ya matching bikes ... and again they just work well ... only have 60 miles on this set as they were just install on 4-24-21. left the Honda dealer and on the way home.... YEP rain ... lol on fresh rubber but had no problems just wasn't dressed for the rain. Everyone always tell you be easy for the first 100 miles until you wear off the super smooth fresh rubber form the mold. Just funny how things work out ... Just had to rain... LOL Anyone else have anything to say leave a comment . . I would like to know what your running for tires ..
Anyone else running these tires ???? I have found them to be a great fit for me ... My bike is a 79 Honda CB650 .. 90% stock handle bar upgrades and springs .... switches and controls with these tires .. LOVE IT !
Used them on 1100GS , 1200GS and 700GS over last 25 years. LOVE them. Really grippy dry and wet. Tried others too, came back to original Tourances. Great on dry AND wet roads. Not great off road on wet grass / mud. Do square off a bit if too much motorway mileage = tip over sharply when squared. Last well too. Have never let me down. Just bought an 800 GS with fresh Michelin Anakee 's. Good .. but will replace with original Tourance (not Tourance Next) when new rubber needed. Overall: great 90 road / 10 dry trail tyres.
@@jamesdouglas9812 I'm really watching the tread to see if I get any cupping .... I have 2300 miles on the first set and they still look good on the edge of each square... I think I have about 500 to 600 miles on the set I just install on the other CB650. So they are just breaking in good . I have seen that these tires do not track as bad as my last set on groved pavement ... They still move around but not as bad... This is something that I hate the most when riding .... ( ROAD REPAIR !!! where they have groved the road )
I'm not sure on the weight . I had the tires mounted and balance a the local Honda shop. the set in the video are for another bike. Just waiting to take that bike in and have them mounted ....
Well . . . I guess you could say there .... Bumpy-ier . . . . LOL than the Tires on my BMW RT1200. But . . . its a street tire VS a Combo Tire. As I have said before, These are good at both... but not great at either. Its a trade off with any of these type tires. If its not a tread bump feeling . . . then maybe check your Balancing. If you had to put a lot of weight in one spot ... You may have a bad tire... Also check the marks on the tires . . .Should have a red / yellow ring or dot for stem alignment. These dot marks are to align with the stems ... If they are not install with the marks aligned with the stems... That could be your problem as well.
Absolutely terrible tire especially in the wet and on white lines came as standard on my 1200 Triumph Scramble i did 800 miles on them and changed them.

these are working great on my CB's ... love them !
doing up one of my CB's as a cafe-bike and these tires will say on ... Maybe a fresh set :)
Thanks for the review. Just bought these for my transalp 650. But didn't fit them yet.
yes great tyre !! i have run with them for years and my bike today is a f650GS , great on tarmac and good off road . hi from scotland .

The Tourance is a 10 year old design, but still a great tyre. I used to run a Tourance on the rear and a TKC80 on the front, great combination.
Totally agree ! Still works and still a great tire !
did you get a bumpy ride with the metzeler tourance?
i have a new triumph scrambler 1200xc and the ride is somewhat bumpy.
I have a Yamaha DT 125 MX 1981 and i did buy this tire and i am very happy whit them it did rolled very wellon asphalt and on gravel roud

@@danielshifflett9479 No. On old 650 GS Dakar. Tried already tarmac and gravel, very good tyre would say.
