Victor this episode is amazing! I really loved seeing an episode centred around Bill and Ben (in fact it was mostly around Bill) and seeing the differences in their personalities. I also liked seeing their more intelligent sides, considering how a lot of both canon and fanon media tends to portray them as not much more than dumb pranksters. Good god Stanley’s comments about that German family was atrocious! Gordon is completely right about his statement with the Nazis being based on bigotry and hate. I happen to be of both German and some Jewish descent myself so let's just say Stanley's remark REALLY bothered me! What I really loved, however, was seeing Bill trying to keep Fefe safe despite his dislike of dogs and even gradually growing attached to her. That was a real character builder and I’m so glad Fefe was innocent! I really like how the engines in your universe can move without the assistance of a driver and fireman so long as they’ve got fire and water. I cannot wait for the next episodes and wish you best of luck in future endeavours!
So far this is my favorite episode. I love dogs, German Shepherds especially, so of course I'm more invested than I already was! =) So glad Fifi made it out okay. I was legit cheering "good girl, Fifi!" when she spotted those two scoundrels near the shed. (What would that be in French, I wonder...) As I've been rediscovering the Thomas series, Bill and Ben have grown on me considerably, and I love seeing stories about them. Interesting idea giving one of them a spotlight episode. =) Well done!
I will agree this series is a million times better than the current show and the Sharon Miller era, but are you also saying this series is better than the Classic Series too?
(I legit thought that that scene after Donald asks Ben why Bill doesn’t like dogs was gonna be a flashback scene for a second to Bill’s dog experience lmao)
That concludes part one. Now to wait for part 2. I hope Peter gets released in that part. Victor only referenced him one time in Modernisation. Funny I thought he'd be reference in an episode like Diagnosis or Secrets. I'm surprised no other references to him were made. It's like Victor has forgotten all about our big 8f buddy.
Been thoroughly enjoying Series 4 so far! One thing that stands out for me is the humour is brilliant. Bill, Bruce and Eric's exchange was very funny! Keep up the great work Victor!
@2kool 4skool No it’s not the last episode of season 4, just the first half of episodes are finished and it’s probably gonna be a while before we get part 2 of the season.
You know, if you haven’t written anything for Season 5 yet, I have my own idea for an opening arc to start it off, I call it “The Stephen Hatt Arc”. I hope you like it, Victor. [The Stephen Hatt Arc:] Succession: After an attempt on Sir Topham Hatt’s life that caused him to receive unfortunate news about his life, both he and us engines were forced to confront a question we never thought we would have to. Oliver: After Stephen Topham Hatt arrived on Sodor with his private engine, coach, and brake-van. He had a wonderful time and was settling onto Sodor very well. however, the same couldn’t be said about his private engine, Oliver. Ambitions: When Stephen finally became Controller, it began very well at first. However, Stephen’s incredibly expensive and ambitious projects caused BR to make a decision and find a way to get rid of him. Election: The fate of The Hatt Legacy was at stake during the 1960 Sodor Controller Election, as Stephen’s competitor for Controller of the North Western Region, Bill Satchel, was immediately in the lead. However, Thomas’ overhaul gave Sir Stephen an idea on how to turn things around. Pack: After winning the election and breaking the North Western Region away from BR and making it it’s own railway, Stephen decided to begin work on all his projects by contacting the manager of a nearly bankrupt construction and logging company in Ireland he worked for before becoming controller. When Packard and Co. set up shop on Sodor, the company got a new lease on life and avoided closure. Stephen’s deal with Jenny Packard benefited her and the company, and was also a major help for the railway. However, Packard and Co. soon began to cause both Non-Faceless Vehicles and workers to lose jobs, with an old friend of ours being among them. Western: After Packard and Co.’s arrival on Sodor, Stephen Hatt decided to pursue one of his projects. Which saw the return of an old friend, a brand new miniature gauge line at Alresbrugh, and a daring rescue. Bulgy: After the “Little Western” was opened, tourism on Sodor boomed once again. However, since these tourists were new to Sodor, this allowed a particularly nasty bus to play a mean trick.
And here’s another one. Refugees: After the construction of the Little Western, word gets out about Sodor accepting out of date non faceless vehicles. This is when we get engines like Bear, Derek, and Boco.
Boy I wish I could write my idea for an episode like you do. Though I still have an interesting story idea. Say this story takes place in the middle of Season 4 part 2 or in Season 5. Edward opens with a narration stating what’s happening on Sodor and mention a group of people had a talk with Sir Topham Hat and causes confusion amongst the engines. Some think it’s the board wanting to bring more diesels while others think it’s SCP. After a 4 minute chat between engines, we cut to the engines at the sheds at night. Where Sir Topham Hat and a somewhat old man come to speak to them. Topham tells them who this man is and why he wants to talk them, it turns out the man is a locomotive engineer turned scientist who’s been studying the 3 theories as to how they come to live and wants to conduct a some experiments to try and figure out what make the engines come to life. His plan is to build one of each piece of railway machinery; engine, truck, coach, etc out of strong-see through material and record what happens during a first firing. He wanted to get permission from the engines first before he went any further, most of the engines agree. Then the SCP foundation get word of these experiments and often to help the man follow through with the plans. After a few months or a year, the see-through prototypes were built but not alive, yet. With cameras rolling, they start the first firing. This is where we would see a strange bright golden mist swirl around the bodies of the machines causing faces to appear. Confirming the revenant theory as true.
Funny you should mention that. Something I read on the Wiki a while back did say that Duncan was given a German accent in the Latin American airings of some of the early seasons.

Ok. I started watching ths first series 3 or 4 days ago and have just finished this episode. It was incredible, and can't wait for more. This is far better than any of the recent stuff. I'd say it's better than the Brenner Era, though not quite as good as the books or classic era. My only complaint is the engine romance. Don't bet me wrong, it's a lot better here than it is most of the time, but I still don't think it quite works. But, apart from that, it's an amazing show
I was wondering if we could see Neville and Rebecca. I know they aren't from the most popular eras, but it would give the series a chance to explore the Southern Railway.
Really good episode, Victor! I recently started watching all of your videos since last month and they've been grand! I started with diagnosis and kind of went from there. Regardless, I'm enjoying what's been shown so far, its really well written, your editing is phenomenal and I really like how you depict each of the engines. You're probably one of Awdry's favourites, judging by how grounded in realism your episodes tend to be, just like the classic series. I do have a question, which I've been curious about for a while. I've noticed you tend to use the Thomas theme during the credits, But I don't know who made it, I'm only asking cause I really like it.
That was so funny and I can’t believe what Stanley had said to the tourists maybe he didn’t mean it at all but it was funny when he had a argument with Duncan 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The last episode for Season 4: Part 1. I honestly thought the TUGS ending theme was going to be used at the end, but ah well. This, while quick, felt so much better than the last episode. At least this had a much better story narrative and made a whole lot more of sense. I liked Bill's character here, interesting that he was the main character in this episode. he played his role very well here and it's great to see those like Terrance for the first time in the series (if I believe correctly). So Stanley's a racist? Makes sense given his time in the war, but he should really mellow out of that throughout time, cause otherwise, he might be turned into a generator. I really like the ending about the branch line and the full-time return of a very special GWR engine, so I'm looking forward to that, next year. Overall, for part 1: Honestly, it hasn't been great. I can shorten this down to this, "Interesting ideas but extremely missed". There's a lot of missed opportunities with this part of the season. It didn't felt like the episodes were executed that well and it's mainly due to its pacing. Majority wise, it was too fast and very much rushed. For some moments, I couldn't really understand everything you were saying, meaning that I couldn't process the information that well unless I slowed it down, there were some moments that needed to be slowed down to get the right emotion you were trying to convey, there were some information and details that needed to be expanded upon - such as Henry's and Emily's marriage as it feels forced at the moment - and of course, Treasure should've had a major rewrite and a different story plot cause that was awful. So in my opinion, Part 1 should've been worked on more. It felt extremely rushed and that you really wanted to get this out, after what happened when you had to scrap every the first time around. There's a lot of interesting story ideas that you and some others had suggested, but it needed to have that better execution and I do hope that for Part 2 of Season 4. But there are some episodes that I felt like they were good like Diesel and Diagnosis. There have been some very interesting character developments and interactions in whole and I have enjoyed most of it. But this part of the season, it has been quite forgettable. You've still done a great job, hopefully, when the second half comes out, it's so much better. Good job, Victor! Looking forward to Part 2.
Now for another piece of criticism from me. I hate to sound impatient, but I haven't been seeing much that builds upon the SCP plot. If I am correct, the arc is supposed to last for a whole season, which I assume is Season 4, since it was teased in the Season 3 finale. Aside from a possible reference at the end of Mountain, it doesn't seem like that subplot is going anywhere. Perhaps it will be expanded upon in Part 2. Like I said, I don't mean to sound impatient, but I certainly want to know more about the SCP's interest in Sodor.
@@NorthWestern1919 I completely agree with you. While I do enjoy good stories, I’m a bit more interested in world building. At first I honestly thought the SCP organization at the end of season 3 were going to be this world’s equivalent to the Ghostbusters, seeing as they mainly questioned Edward about Sodor’s supernatural history. Though when I learned what SCP ment and saw what they were doing in season 4, it instantly wanted to see more of them too. My hope is that in part 2 of season 4 or season 5 (if there’s gonna be one) the majority of the stories focus on the SCP, exploring and experimenting ways as to how the engines and machinery come to life. Say the SCP go to Sir Topham Hat and tell him they want to occupy the works to conduct some building experiments. Their plan is to build one of every piece of machinery on the rails (engine, truck, coach, etc) out of strong see through material to see what goes on inside during the first firing. Maybe it’ll reveal/confirm the revenant theory as true. I know this is kind of a stretch for this series, but I’d find my story far more entertaining than some of this season’s episodes. No afence to Victor though.

Another awesome episode. Great humor. Looking forward to Duck and Oliver's arrival.

Bill is now my favorite engine for protecting fefe. Well done 👍
At last! We'd finally get to see Duck, again! I knew he would eventually come back to Sodor to help run this new line being mentioned at the end!
"I dunno how many times she was beaten with an ugly stick, but they shoulda stopped at 50."

So far this is my favorite episode. I love dogs, German Shepherds especially, so of course I'm more invested than I already was! =)
So glad Fifi made it out okay. I was legit cheering "good girl, Fifi!" when she spotted those two scoundrels near the shed. (What would that be in French, I wonder...)
As I've been rediscovering the Thomas series, Bill and Ben have grown on me considerably, and I love seeing stories about them. Interesting idea giving one of them a spotlight episode. =)
Well done!
Now victor will make part 2 in 2021 March! Right victor?
Because I want you to go on a vacation like me on it next week!
Victors videos are basically like a political version of the railway series, and I love that!
This better then the tv series
I agree Mattel ruined Wilburt Awdry's legacy.
True
I will agree this series is a million times better than the current show and the Sharon Miller era, but are you also saying this series is better than the Classic Series too?

This, diagnosis and secrets are my favourites for this season so far
(I legit thought that that scene after Donald asks Ben why Bill doesn’t like dogs was gonna be a flashback scene for a second to Bill’s dog experience lmao)
That concludes part one. Now to wait for part 2. I hope Peter gets released in that part. Victor only referenced him one time in Modernisation. Funny I thought he'd be reference in an episode like Diagnosis or Secrets. I'm surprised no other references to him were made. It's like Victor has forgotten all about our big 8f buddy.

5 days are the record for these vids now. Wow
Can’t wait to see the little western’ leading up to the Arsdale line and the small engines.
You know, if you haven’t written anything for Season 5 yet, I have my own idea for an opening arc to start it off, I call it “The Stephen Hatt Arc”. I hope you like it, Victor.
[The Stephen Hatt Arc:]
Succession:
After an attempt on Sir Topham Hatt’s life that caused him to receive unfortunate news about his life, both he and us engines were forced to confront a question we never thought we would have to.
Oliver:
After Stephen Topham Hatt arrived on Sodor with his private engine, coach, and brake-van. He had a wonderful time and was settling onto Sodor very well. however, the same couldn’t be said about his private engine, Oliver.
Ambitions:
When Stephen finally became Controller, it began very well at first. However, Stephen’s incredibly expensive and ambitious projects caused BR to make a decision and find a way to get rid of him.
Election:
The fate of The Hatt Legacy was at stake during the 1960 Sodor Controller Election, as Stephen’s competitor for Controller of the North Western Region, Bill Satchel, was immediately in the lead. However, Thomas’ overhaul gave Sir Stephen an idea on how to turn things around.
Pack:
After winning the election and breaking the North Western Region away from BR and making it it’s own railway, Stephen decided to begin work on all his projects by contacting the manager of a nearly bankrupt construction and logging company in Ireland he worked for before becoming controller.
Western:
After Packard and Co.’s arrival on Sodor, Stephen Hatt decided to pursue one of his projects. Which saw the return of an old friend, a brand new miniature gauge line at Alresbrugh, and a daring rescue.
Bulgy:
After the “Little Western” was opened, tourism on Sodor boomed once again.
I love these stories so much and can't wait for the 60s

Wow, and I thought Duncan would be part German since some narrow gauge engines there look pretty similar to him.
Funny you should mention that. Something I read on the Wiki a while back did say that Duncan was given a German accent in the Latin American airings of some of the early seasons.
@@lukechristmas3951 I have planned on giving Duncan a German accent in my series.
@@Edward2Fan47 If you go for it, I'll be excited to see how it turns out. I've watched your Thomas the Model Trainz Engine pilot and Vampires and it's clear that you have a good way of working humor into Thomas. Wonderful job on those two videos!
Luke Christmas is it normal that I find that weird since he was given a Scottish accent in the North American dub of the model series?
@@lbsc108gb5 No. I thought the same when I first found out. Scottish and German accents are the kind that are heavy and can be hard to understand.

But, apart from that, it's an amazing show
What a great way to end Season 4 part 1! Can not wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds! Awesome job!

The timing of this episode's release with UK and EU relations is amazing
fantastic chapter i can not wait for the next one
