I hate all of these comments about her "choking" gymnasts make mistakes. Sometimes it's on the days where mistakes aren't allowed. At every Olympics someone messes up. Alicia is one of those gymnasts with a determination. She truly deserved to go to Beijing.
She earned her place on the team and filled in admirably for Memmel when she got hurt. However, you can't deny that she did choke when she was needed in the Team Finals. And I AGREE with you that's just the nature of sports -- someone has to win and someone has to lose, regardless of whether mistakes happen or not...
Men the judge was just disappointed and surprised it is totally normal. Please stop always criticizing judges, he didn’t even talk during her performance. (Aside from the « Jesus »)
I agree with the sentiment that mistakes happen and sometimes they’re just on the worst day for them to happen. That said, she choked big time in Beijing and no one can logically dispute that. However, even if Alicia and the rest of the team (because Shawn and Nastia made noticeable mistakes too in the TF) were perfect, they would’ve still needed China to make mistakes to win the gold. Mathematically, if both teams were perfect in Beijing, China still would’ve won. The argument that a lot of people make that Alicia was the sole reason the USA didn’t win is just flat out inaccurate and ridiculous.
Alicia's problem is that she had absolutely zero idea of where she was on the floor. Sometimes she would land with 4 feet of clearance and others completely out of bounds. I've never seen another elite gymnast with such poor spatial awareness.
I think on the pass where she fell you are right. She had no idea how close to being out of bounds she was. I think when she landed and then went to land the front layout she realized and that's what made her fall. So sad to see because she is a great gymnast, just so much power sometimes I think it gets the best of her
A Dos Santos is very hard to land. Even Dos Santos herself had to give it a step forward not to leave the floor. Alicia was just too anxious. She was, though, a fantastic gymnast.
Its not really lack of awareness. I do just think she was throwing such big things that even today alot struggle to keep in bounds. When you throw something so big you are going to have issue.
It's to sad when you know a gymnast more for her mistakes than for her success...when I see Alicia's 3rd pass I can almost bet she will go about of bounds or fall 95% of the time.
yup, have to agree big time on this one... would have been PERFECT for the olympics had she decided to keep going on floor. too bad she wasn't able to get that front handspring double twist on vault :(
KCoolKid2003 .1 for second pass .4 for third pass(as you say) is still only .5 so .4 has to be incorrect. It must be a typo. It probably is something else though. BTW it's +Henry Hernandez from four months ago
henryxhernandez No, I know why, she got .6 because she landed out of bounds on the 3rd plus she fell on it. Mainly because of the fall. I was about to say fail LOL XXD
directly stepping out of bound is a 0.5 penalty, it's the same case as Sandra Izbasa in 2010 Worlds. That's why she got 0.5 for the third pass and 0.1 for the second, and thus a 0.6 penalty in total.
She had very beautiful turns. So many gymnasts seem like they fall out of theirs now.

Exactly I bet none of these so called critics on here can do what she does without errors
I still think that she is beautiful and I love her floor music! It suits her perfectly
I love Alicia, her way, full of attitude and determined, confident. she was amazing 😍
The best floor music ever... THE best....
The choreography in this routine is excellent
i love how her double arabians are so well tucked.
basically no cowboying, it’s incredible
I feel she could've definitely pulled off a 3.5 twist.
Love power gymnasts! and Alicia is one of the best!
Her floor music starts an ends with 300 violin orchestra and in the middle is heart of courage
She fell right on the beat
Shes just way too strong that sometimes it doesn't come in her favor.

@@Matt-su5fy except that wasn't a Dos Santos, it was a 2.5 twist punch front layout
bbhouk1 I think they were talking about the double Arabian
alicia you give me chills!
it's almost rare to see double arabians with the knees together, huh? :P
It's to sad when you know a gymnast more for her mistakes than for her success...when I see Alicia's 3rd pass I can almost bet she will go about of bounds or fall 95% of the time.
Omg lbs
So you dont know anything about her entire carreer
its so sad how just a year ago she was still competing floor. if she never got hurt at worlds, maybe she would've gone to london :( i love alicia!
Her second pass seemed like perfect form, she just had too much speed? Her third pass seemed like she under rotated?
Best floor routine
300 violin orchestra is also in the song, near the second half.
umm it's a mix of Heart of Courage (by Two Steps from Hell) and something else... not sure what...
Lol aly cowboys her double Arabian alicia does it properly
She does that because of her ankles and the act she cant keep it in bounds other wise.
I forgot she was the first to have Heart of Courage as part of her floor.
she needed a bigger area, she has a lot of power. I no I am 10 years to late on this
does anyone know what the music is?
yup, have to agree big time on this one... would have been PERFECT for the olympics had she decided to keep going on floor. too bad she wasn't able to get that front handspring double twist on vault :(
the music kind of went with her fall... xD love her though
Hey! At least it was entertaining, she thought she was dodging bullets in the matrix
What are you talking about? Aly's are not nearly as tucked as Alicia's.
She grimaced at the second pass
1:11
lolz @ 0:33 oohh
Poor Alicia 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
1:15 that's new walk ! Lol
Lmao it synched with the music too
オラキオから来た
Lol her third pass
.4 penalty not .6 (.1 2nd pass .3 3rd pass)
Yes 6. Because you are thinking of the 2013-2016 Code this was the 2009-2012 It was 0.4 in 2009-2012 now it is 0.3
KCoolKid2003 .1 for second pass .4 for third pass(as you say) is still only .5 so .4 has to be incorrect. It must be a typo. It probably is something else though.

henryxhernandez No, I know why, she got .6 because she landed out of bounds on the 3rd plus she fell on it. Mainly because of the fall. I was about to say fail LOL XXD
+henryxhernandez I figured it out. She landed out which was 0.3 and she had both feet out which was also 0.3
directly stepping out of bound is a 0.5 penalty, it's the same case as Sandra Izbasa in 2010 Worlds. That's why she got 0.5 for the third pass and 0.1 for the second, and thus a 0.6 penalty in total.
When in her quest for making her 2008 Olympic bid did she "specialize" in choking?
I think she was gunning for all round choking actually
She is the fourth most decorated U.S. female gymnast ever, but go off about her having a few off days sis
Maybe floor i s not her great event, se can be better in other areas than this, And gymnastics is really a dificult sport
Everything about this is off..
