This announcement was done right. Introducing Adam at this time was a great decision. When compared to Avi Kaaplan's (from Pentatonix) goodbye announcement, I only wish that Pentatonix had his replacement allready in place.

That is exactly what came to my mind. Even though it is six years past this happening, it still feels like they handled this with friendship and care for the whole group. I’ve watched Chris Rupp and he seems to be doing great. I really like Adam Chance as the replacement. I think the group is blessed.
I could not believe the attitudes of Pentatonix when Avi quit. There was anger there but no genuine explanation for that. I miss Avi in the group but they have managed to have great voices always. The video of Avi growing into his own skin, so to speak, was very off putting to me! I’m glad he followed his heart. He has such a beautiful voice.
I’m so glad my favorite group - Home Free - was more mature and understanding. They have also managed to have singers who can each stand alone with their voice. I’m so glad they stick together as well as they have. Such wonderful talent and a joy to watch! I hope for the best for each person individually and in the group. They all have my support. They give such pleasure. I’m glad they went country as I was raised on country music.
God bless each of the group - present and past! I loved the videos showing the group from the original three men. There does not seem to be any hard feelings among any of them. ❤️🔥🥰
I feel the same way in a sense. But to me, this group has been together twice as long and even longer than Pentatonix, so their choices and reveal of doing this is more mature.

Chris, as the founder of Home Free, you've let us welcome you and your group into our hearts and given us a style that has never been heard of. Your abilities as a baritone and quirky attitude really made the group a lot of fun to watch and admire. I don't think anyone could be more proud of Home Free's accomplishments as you are. Seeing you grow in the solo bit so far has been nothing shy of a magical road, and sometimes you have to make that big choice. I want to say thank you for showing us your love of music, especially in a capella, that will hopefully last forever. We are all going to miss you, and are eager to hear your future performances. Adam Chance, I've heard a bit of your talent, and I am really looking forward to you joining the Home Free family. They couldn't have picked a better replacement for Chris. After seeing plenty of artists at odds with each other and all the gossip surrounding "what really happened", this is a truly classy way to handle a transition. Glad to see Chris step into some new stuff and not leave Home Free without an apt replacement. Looking forward to seeing cool videos and hearing awesome music from everyone in the future!

My six favorite performers all in one video. These men set a standard that is pretty high. Gorgeous voices, and great beatboxing, great performance skills, lot's of humor. But they are really nice guys, too, and the way they did this break up is first class. Bless these young men!

Onto Adam... I dunno about anyone else but the fact there's now 2 basses in this group is something I've never seen before in any acapella group and I cannot wait to see what crazy lines you and Tim will be able to come up with. SO excited!!
Let's not sink the new guy before he has a chance to impress us. The rest of the guys wouldn't take on someone who didn't sing at their level of technique, or be able to jump in feet first and see what happens. I am looking forward to his addition to Home Free and am willing to take him at face value.

Chance has been a more than adequate replacement, and it's been pretty awesome with Chris & now Chance. I wish all 6 of them could get together & do a concert together sometime !!!
As we all know now, they could not have made a better choice. Chance has been an incredible addition to the group, with his beautiful baritone, incredible versatility, and good looks.
Both Chris and Adam are both extremely talented I feel like this is a step sideways not forward or backward because they both have so much talent to use. welcome Adam, enjoy your solo career Chris

+Combattant A I would actually be interested to see what would happen if PTX took a break to go solo. Maybe collaborate with each other to make awesome projects that would have instrumentation. Scott already has two or three solo albums out, Kavin has a solo EP, and Avi has shown that he is a damn good guitar player as well as a singer. Everything at some point will feel tired and boring to the people who make it, that's why they try new sounds and do new things. I would love to see an Avi Kaplan or Kirstie Maldonado or Mitch Grassi solo album in the future.
+Hearts&Minds Yes2 i too would be VERY interested to see an EP or solo album from any of them, especially Mitch cos there's hardly any solo project from him that i could find aside a few cover videos and superfruit. However, what I actually meant from the previous comment was not of them having a break, but instead, of them leaving the group like what Chris is doing, bcos for ptx, that would be... just don't do it ok haha

I have been fun of Home Free since 2013. I listen to all their music including the sing off songs again and again every day. The group has shown the world that If there is the talent and commitment, every thing can be done. I see each person like 5 fingers of the hand. Every body has his own irreplaceable role in the success the Band. Chris was one of the founding starts with a lot of talents and vision. If you listen to the music carefully line by line, you can simply understand how his role makes the music full. Chris is a kind the bond who brings together the Bass, the lead, the Drummer and the Piano to be integrated one. I feel like they are losing the strong chain that brings all talents of the team member to be attractive and beautiful. I do believe he will be successful in his future projects and Solo business. The difference is that I know that both Home Free and Chris will continue to make music for us. So I will stop crying, just not right now.
