I normally watch your videos for the opal content, just to learn more about different types of opals, how they're worked and how they get messed up but seeing how you interact with the wildlife in your neck of the woods is amazing. I've been an avid Bearded Dragon owner for over a decade and it's simply astounding to see them just running around in their natural habitat. Thanks for all you do, Phil!

G’day mate, Bearded dragons have been my favourite since around 1989 when I caught my first one up at Melrose, Flinders ranges, they have a great temperament when calm. 🤪👍

    At 3:04 in this video.
LOL man I really need to get out of my American mind ! Ima go crazy if I don’t haha.
Everytime I watch one of these videos, you driving out to the Opal fields, I’m always surprised by how you guys drive, wrong side of the car, wrong side of the roads lol 😂.
Of course, over here we are the ones who are backwards haha. But yeah, it always trips me up for a second, and then I have to remind myself, it’s Australia mate !
Absolutely love these videos though, and so so jealous wishing I was there to find my own rough and polish !!!
Good luck Phil, I know you’ll knock it out of the park.

such a crazy thing to have to go underground in the dark to find bright shiny colors! the waiting on a train segment reminds me of moments in parts of the Oz i live in on this side of the globe. the main difference is that over here, just as you realize that the long train that you've been waiting out has almost passed is also the exact moment you realize that this train had blocked from view the other long train on the parallel tracks opposite, but this other train is going the other direction, plus that it has barely started passing you. so, usually is best to wait some more.

G’day Andy, I document my adventures chronologically, what is shown is what, and how, it happened, I also can’t do fake with a straight face, so I don’t think I’d fit their criteria. I was approached by them (Prospero productions) through an email about matrix treating, I responded, I never heard back from them, not a good start, professionally, and the “Mooka boys” were probably a better fit anyways. 🤪👍

The best thing about a vacuum and an agitator is you dont have to cry over the opal that disintegrates. Just sort whats on the screen. Nice to find a pocket. May it be bigger than you can dig out before you leave.

I was chatting with Dr.Phil about sandblasting the host material off. Might save some opal from the saw. There is a micro sand blaster that jewelers use to carve intricate patterns for stone jewelry. It's also used to clean up fossils without damaging it.
