@@billiesrus but the point that the person was making was not that they would pronounce the word as ‘sin’. The person said that they have to remember the word sin, then it will click for them (that the pronunciation is sen, not sane).
@@RUclipsJulien Understood. I was thrown by your use of the French "riviere" in the video. I will be visiting Paris and doing a riverboat cruise on the Seine in October. I speak a bit of French, and I just wanted to make sure that I had it right en Frencais. I shall make use of fleuve. Thanks for the confirmation.
Everyone has an accent. Even you. Why are the videos always narrated with an accent, you ask. I don’t know if you’re being sarcastic or not. But here’s my answer for you. If you want to learn how to pronounce the word correctly, you need to hear it from someone who speaks it correctly, and that’s usually the person who is a native speaker.
Both Cambridge and Marriam-Webster pronounce it as sane. Since it's in fact not English, let's follow the famous English dictionaries as standard English pronunciation instead of making up your own.
Thanks a lot, Juliene! I'm a fan of your educational pronunciation lessons! Interesting and helpful! 💌🇫🇷👍❤️

Merci beaucoup!
Thank you.
Merci, merci Mon Ami.. Au revoir.♥️
Google pronounces it as "sane" LOL
Yes that's the first search returned by Google -- the incorrect, American pronunciation. Good thing I was suspicious of that.
Yup! You should always be suspicious of what Google says.
"Sane" is not incorrect.. That's the English pronounciation. In French, it's "Sen." Google is correct.. they gave both versions.
Merci that’s what Google to me 2 the “Sane” river which is correct sane or sen ?😢Or can you use both 😮🇺🇸FeLiNe418 😇
Yes, we were taught to say "sane" at school in the 80s by French teacher Ms Whittaker. Sacre bleu.
Thanks so much. All I have to do is remember the biblical word "Sin", then it will click for me 👍👍
But it's pronounced Sen not Sin

I always thought it was pronounced "sane" in English, and "sen" in French..
Thank you

"En Francais."
I've been pronouncing it as "Syen"
0:21 - this is not correct. It is not a "rivière" but a "fleuve".
He's also pronouncing it wrong. It's \sɛn\ not /sɪn/
I don’t know what you were listening to, but I didn’t hear ‘sin’. I definitely heard ‘sen’.

Because this man is French. But everyone has an accent you dummy
The arrogance of people to assume that everyone else has an "accent" but they don't always amazes me.

I agree!! In English, it's Sane; in French, Sen..
Just say the fucking pronunciation, dude, jeez.
Chill bruv hes giving a demonstration on how to actually say it correctly.
Lol
The video is less than a minute long, I think you survived.
How you say "bottom-feeding, basement-dwelling loser" in French.
Just say it. Thumbs down.
You have 0 patience, I see
Thank you.
You're welcome Gloria! :) TY 🙏😊👍
