They wouldn't go with that engine until the 1989 order of Gillig Phantoms which mated it with the Voith D863 a la AC Transit's 2600s, 2700s and 2800s.
Those 6V53 TMC CityCruisers sounded great! Loved the Orions & GMC's too. Great film
