- Got out to backpack with a friend I made when I was in Denmark end of April 2024.....Kory the designer and owner of Majestic hammocks. There had been flash flooding up North which led to some re-routing.

It was really awesome meeting you and Kory at egge lake camp. Thanks for sharing your adventures and experience over the years.
Hey Daniel. I got envelope to you in the post today~~~
Cool to meet you up there too, Daniel. Enjoy more of your hiking days!
That fish looked fantastic. Thanks for another video.
Sure was and that tartar sauce is 5 stars. Whooooo Buddy))))
looks like a hell of a good time! appreciate you takin us with you
Was a mighty fine trip. Thankee.
I was just at Sonju in May. Fantastic spot. Good bird watching. Left a sketch of one on the trail log at Lilly Island. Too bad the bridge to the north was destroyed in these recent storms.
Those storms are mighty rough on some of those bridges as Nature roils!
Just love it …. Whoooooooo Buddy
Whooooo Buddy)))))
Nothing is better than a new Shug video...thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
My pleasure to serve.....Whooooo Buddy)))))
Will be up north in a few weeks - definitely stopping by Gordy's one of the days and trying that shake out! Enjoyed everything else I've had there
You surely should.......
That beetle is an American carrion beetle. It was probably eating some kind of rotten fruit or fungi.
Thanks. Though maybe some poo but lots of strands in it.
Speaking of fungi, Shugemery is a fungi.
Great to see you and Kory camping for a couple of days. The doors on those old Metros like to open on the outside of curves, but they do look cool.
Very sweet auto. I loved the color. Classy. Hang on on those turns!
All my favorite trips include a bit of a curveball from Mother Nature…you feel more alive and a part of the land not to mention the best stories. Whooo Buddy! Thanks Shug.
I for sure concur. Adds to the zest of the trip..
Stort tillykke med din Majestic Sean, håber du bliver lige så glad ved den - som jeg er for min 🤗Glædes ved, at se Kory & du på udelivstur sammen, håber i bevarer kontakten. He strikes me as a good man, father, husband and engineer - sincere & honest 'a whole person' 👍 Og ja, i samt jeres familier er altid velkommen her hos os - flere traditionelle danske madretter, vi gerne vil serverer for jer vi har 🤗😋☺ Med Kærlig hilsen Martin & Co
We had a wonderful time reminiscing about our time in Denmark. And yes it is a very comfortable hammock. I really like the fabric. We spoke fondly of you. Until next time...Whoooo Kammerat))))
Today was a bicycle ride. 40 miles in 95f to have lunch. Glad to see you out on the trail enjoying the weather
Sounds like some industrial strength chafing~~! haaa Good on ya'.
Man that second night’s site was a keeper! Beautiful lake and sunset. Just made some rhubarb jam, gonna buy some Pop Tarts and use it as a dipping sauce! All the best to ya Shug ✌🏼☕️🫛
That is a top notch idea. It was a keeper of a site!
In the days of short videos around a minute or 90 seconds long with a bunch of fast cuts, your slower videos are like a nice warm comforting hug. I feel like I’m out on the trail with you the Lord of Lollygag just enjoying the sights and sounds of Minnesota.
Thanks for the good words. I'm old school and those 60 second videos leave me empty.
Music on this one is A+, luv the new hammock, friend & flooded trail report.
Thankee jamie.
Another awesome outing 👍
Thankee.......
Thanks Shug! Much appreciated brother. Love the " slop shoe doddle."
Mucho appreciato.....
We took in the storm on Zenith Lake in the bwca it was epic! Thanks for all of the awesome content, boss!
Soggy Bottom Lounge I reckon~~!!!
Shoozh... yer a SICK man! No human in his right mind would EVER lay a lip on a PapTayrt that had rhubarb in it! Ain't fit for feeding beasts even. Ack! Decades ago, I had a neighbor who had a Nash Metropolitan. His wife drove an Olds 98 (early 60s) with a trunk big enough to park the Nash in. Mmmm... those fish-n-chips do look good !
No Rhubarb pie for you. More for me))))) Loved the hue of that Metropolitan. Classy.
Great video and enjoyed following along! Keep after it!
Whooooooo Buddy))))
Love the sign and sculpture 5:34!
Work of art.
He did have really solid advice, set your goal standards really low, and you'll meet all of them! It's worked my entire life.
Low standards are my Calling Card!!!!~~~
...and never, ever be disappointed... :)

Driving that Jeep like ya stole it through some “puddles” Oh Yeah👍🏼
Beautiful sunset at 15:50! Whoooooo buddy! :)
Wonderful scenery and video. Those bugs were carrion beetles. They smell like death.
Carry On stinky beetles. Thankee....
24.57 that's what i'm talking about............................Great Trip .
Thankee. The End.
Hi Shug
This is cool. I’ve been of course curious about the Majestic hammock. Only thing turning me off is the separate bug net. Hopefully he’ll come up with a zippered one.
Love your videos. Keep enjoying life!
I think he will modify the bug net at some point as it is...but he is not into zip on bug nets as he feels it compromises the lay one zipped. Thankee~~
At 16:13 I'm always happy to see Karl is doing well with the boil!
Yessir....
Nice video 😊when can I buy a majestic hammock in Danmark I would love to own one, and it is always nice with a new video with you Shug
You would need to order it through their website. It is down of maintenance right now but can still contact....www.majestichammock.com/contact.html
Looks like Dutchman breeches, just really bright. I'm used to the more light pink almost white flowers.
Ahhh.....I like 'em bright. Colors were vivid out there. Thankee.
Yessir, it does me proud to hear the South's still thankin about in ya mind. WHOOO BUD-DAY! preeshate the tag along Mr. Emery.
Yessir. I aim to get down yonder soon......
The insects are American carrion beetles. I encountered some on a hike once and was struck by their distinctive appearance!
They were very unique for sure. Thankee.
that little island on sonju lake, i found a moose shed there once
Moose know a good spot!!!!
At 12:15 it has been a while since we saw you prepare the Magdalia Doro!
Righto~~
Looks like a great trip Cuz.
Hey there Cuz.....
thank guys for the video, greeting from Martin from the vikinghytte.
Hey hey Martin.......Kory and I talked a lot about our time in Denmark. Hope all is good well. Whoooo Kammerat))))))
A very common flavor of pop tart, but it is my most favorite.
Righto~~~
Shug your a crazy man lol love it
Whooooo Buddy))))
that bi-color flower is in the genus Corydalis, probably C. sempervirens, rock harlequin. The family is Fumariaceae (Fumitory) or Bleeding-heart family...colorful like a harlequin.
Thankee for that good intel. I may be a bleeding heart myself~~~~

About 10 years ago I did a solo trip into to Crosby Manitou. Think it was actually recommended by someone off either BCUSA or HF. Got there, great site next to the rapids. However it had rained hard, not near as bad as this year, but those rapids were raging and the entire 4 days I was there I could barely hear myself think the water was so loud.
For sure can be loud there is that water is running hard....
That pop tart is making me want one.
They always taste way better in the woods. Boy scout memories.
Hey Shug! We love you in Hickory NC! We just made another churn of your buttermilk ice cream, which is so good. We were wondering if you have a recipe or tips/suggestions for making it into a banana ice cream. thank you!
Just get 4 or 5 ripe bananas...mash them up and add it into the churning ice cream 15 minutes or so before the ice cream sets up...suebeehomemaker.com/how-to-make-homemade-ice-cream-in-an-electric-ice-cream-maker/
Hi Shug nice patch. 😊
Hey hey....Patches for the win.Thankee
Makin' me hungry. Your boys over at McLaren are stepping it up lately, Shug!
They are doing really good this season. Make the season fun. Lando is getting tough...need to keep getting it.
@@shugemery Much more exciting season so far than the last couple. Excited to see what Lando can do tomorrow.
Is that Shug original music? Really like the groove!!!
It is me playing the music but not my original. Thankee.
It’s a fun video to watch!! Was hoping Dutch sent you one of those new quilted Chameleons to try. It’s fantastic, just ordered my 2nd 😂 I hope you try one sometime
My Superior Gear hammocks are similar...and I am almost out of room in my Nut Hut!!! Enjoy your good and comfy hammock time.
Hey Shug, thanks for another great video. I’m actually in northern Minnesota right now (SHT), so beautiful! Can you help me with the name of the restaurant that you frequent for amazing homemade pie? Looking for a treat in a couple days. Thanks!
I frequent Gordy's High Hat in Cloquet but one pie place I used to go to closed its doors. Many folks like Betty's Pies on Hwy 61.
Those loons, they're SHARP lookin.
Great design on those creatures.
Maybe you should send Pop Tarts an email asking for rhubarb .. NO.. demand them! 🤣 They should bring back the peanut butter ones as well.
Thanks for the video.. hammock looked comfortable.
I shall....I shall~~~ Hope you good and well.
Shug was that you playing the tune the first 5 minutes? Didn’t sound like a mandolin unless you really had it tuned down. Have you picked up the guitar also? Liked it.👍🏻👍🏻
Yessir. It was . On my pretty new EleOcto Electric Active mandolin. You can see it in this video at 9:45 in this video ruclips.net/video/rurZqYG-WUs/видео.htmlsi=KQ04gSm4GUnoN9XF
I have always played some guitar though. Thankee~~
Another great episode Shug…..
I think I got this correct -but was that a little nod to Billy Bob and his movie Slingblade about half way through.??
I’m definitely no movie aficionado but I think that was the best acting I’ve ever enjoyed (after your skits of course)
Yessir. I done went down the rabbit hole with Karl Childers a whilst back uh huh......ruclips.net/p/PLahaAdtfX9ZJwaG1GHZx3Dv3cJJSgLgWq

It was a big 'un.....
What would you say your favorite hammock is? I'm looking to finally spend some money on a more premium hammock but there are so many good options. Currently looking at a Amok Draumr but warbonnet blackbird xlc looks nice too.
I have no favorite as I enjoy them all. But my go-go hammocks the last couple years are my Superior Gear hammocks and Warbonnet Eldorado. The AMOK is a very unique hammock and you have to use the pad for structure. As always pros and cons to all. True...so many good choices.
@@shugemery i appreciate the quick response shug!
Nothing to do with this video but what do you recommend to re seal a tent rain fly.
We have washed it clean of all original waterproofing ( kinda like peeling sun burn)
But want to re seal it.
Thoughts??
Here is my video on it. Make sure to use the correct sealer for the tarp material......ruclips.net/video/O82HNJNNiwE/видео.html
My tent is really old , but we love it , Alpine Meadows 4, the original rain fly had an almost rubbery texture.
We still have the vestibule with the original waterproofing but main fly started peeling off.
Is there a paint on/ roll on product that would penetrate the nylon fabric to seal it up? Need to cover whole thing not just seams.
Not sure about that. Most my tarps are silnylon. You could take it to REI or good camping sore and ask what they think. Perhaps a good silicon waterproof spray???....www.amazon.com/Tent-Fabrics-Outdoor-Waterproofing-Concentrate/dp/B00FXI3CUO/ref=asc_df_B00FXI3CUO?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80539280413939&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584138858048230&psc=1

Hey Mr. Shug, you've always talked about ppl being weird if they've never set up a tarp in thier life. I literaly just set up my First Tarp last weeken AND slept my fist Night in a Hammock.
So my Question is; is my Weirdness cured now or is there another Ritual that i have to undertake?
Much Love from Germany
I don't recall saying weird....just that it may be very new them.
Those of us who sleep under tarps instead of buckled up in a tent will always be a bit weird, different, misunderstood~
The Rituals will show themselves to you.
Hey Shug...any plans for you and Kent to hike?
Indeed. Just trying to arrange times. We do live 1,400 apart!
@@shugemery Looking forward to it my friend!
That Hillbilly Pot is looking more “Hillbilly” with each new video. 😆
I think I do too.......
Thanks. Hope all is well. I still say Loons have a case against Hollywood for overuse of their voices. Frankly I'm surprised that frogs everywhere have never risen up and demanded a taste of their own too. No more "just like chicken"!!! Take care.
Yes those loons calls used in movies. We were talking about that in camp. They need to lawyer up. I hear crows are good bird lawyers.

Shug, great video as always but of course I have a Paul Bunyan axe to grind. You have never claimed to be a Minnesota native but you have been here long enough to know that you can't feature someone from Iowa and not throw some shade. You have been here long enough you should be a native...I just got my credentials and I've been here since 89....some examples of shade: 1) What does IOWA stand for?...Idiot out Wandering Around or I owe the world an apology. 2) What is the best thing to come out of Iowa?...I35 north and Majestic Hammocks. Did Kory bring you some I-Chops or Pie....next time he better!
Haaa....I throw my shade off camera! Kory did brink me a hammock though!!!!
Shug in my head: I'm playing with my Majestic Hammock, and I hear in my head " ON THE KNOT, NOT THE TOGGLE" DO I watch to many Shug Vids??
Haaaa.....good on ye'
Eye it’s cotton
Sure look it.
You cutting in and out of their formation is not really safe. If that was a club, they would catch you at a gas station or something.
Do what? I feel you commented on the wrong video as there was no formation in this video.
Shug, I don't comment much at all on youtube. I just wanted to give you a thanks. Been watching for some time now, you really got me back into camping and being out in the woods. I spent memorial day weekend hanging in the coolest spot.
Hey...I'm glad to hear that. Whooooo Buddy))))

I learned everything I need to hammock camp from Shug. I went into the woods to quit smoking. His videos help me master some skills that got me through!!
Thank you Shug!!!

They need to bring back peanut butter pop tarts
A rhubarb pop tart would be an absolute dream! ❤
Usually I don't like their sweeter ones, but the combination of the rhubarb and the frosting would really work.
And Gordy's!
Thanks again for another great video!
Too right! Would never sell though so they will stick with Jolly Roger candy pop tarts!
This guy comes into my life every few months and starts me on another Hickory Brothers Linville binge. Thank god.
The linville videos are some of the best on RUclips.
Your welcome! haaa. We are working on setting a trip.
Aw shucks...thankee.
Thanks for the shout-out, Shug! Been a fan for a long time! And remember.... Anything Kory said about me was all exaggerations and lies!

Hey Commander Brad.....so, about me being the tiller driver????

I don't know, I just feel sorry for Brad. He's doing his best out there, commanding those brave men, and you just pick on that poor soul. (Maybe I should feel sorry for Kory who will be polishing that engine's chrome till 2034.)

Shug, nice to see you and Kory out hammock camping together. As you mentioned, it's not every day you get the opportunity to hang and hobnob with the creator of your hammock! I too have a Majestic hammock, which I throughly enjoy! It is my every day go to hammock. From chilling on my deck to tossing in a daypack and hiking into the woods or state park to hang and read. Thanks for the video as always :) Side bar: Kory, love the UGQ t-shirt, way to support Chad!
Happy to hear that you enjoy your Majestic hammock. And yes it was fun to be with the builder of it.
@user-nt5lz5lm9d Thanks, Vicki! Good to hear from you, and yeah, it's great to be able to sport some authentic UGQ merch! Thrilled to hear you're still loving the Majestic, and I appreciate you sharing those kind words! Take care! And thanks for watching Shug's video of our trip together! We had a good time, for sure!
Great zoom shots of the Loon and Swan from so far away. The spectacular sunset followed by the full moon shot was awesome. Glad you had a good field test of your Majestic hammock, with the owner. Thanks for sharing your successful flood water work around adventure.
That was such a top notch site with those swans and loons, coolish weather, no humidity, great company!!!
I was just checking out the Finland area over the 4 th of July weekend, it looks like all the floodwater has receded. Th kings look close to being back to normal again
I hear all good up there...but all the water came down south and reeked a bit more havoc. It was crazy.
Shug, you got to go camping with one of the nicest guys in the hammock world! That's awesome
So...reckon you have met Kory before. Really good feller for sure~~~
Your phone identifies plants now. Someone at the San Diego Zoo showed us that.
Often don't have a signal out there. Wonder if those apps work without. But I like asking on here to see who chimes in.
Such a tease with the Majestic Hammocks website being under reconstruction when you dropped this video :-)

Hip hip to the cozy hammock life!
That river was raging, don't go falling in it and that Jeep was nice but the 50's Nash was cool to see, have seen one before on my side of the pond at a car event, wonder if the fish n chips is as good as our's ?
I really like fish and chips shops overseas immensely. But Gordy's is top notch but I am not sitting and dining in old Blighty with newsprint wrapping my fish. Classic! Not as much a staple over here.
Good video. Love the music.
Thanks for that~~
Awesome video work: loon (love the howling loon) sunsets & flowers. Got some nice high water this year. Good times out there
Yessir. Watery for sure. I was a good hike and sleep.
I must Say Kory Knocked it out of the park with his hammock. I sleep in a hammock Every night for 7 years now, My One Wind fell apart, I try not to use my Camelin for everyday use. Kory made something with almost no calf ridge and very reduced shoulder squeeze. I just love it. Best hammock I ever had. The Dutch wear Cameleon is still the best for camping though with the zipper bug net and the side car, Side sling, adapter, Peak cargo storage. Thanks Kory.
Nice to know you love the Majestic. Looking forward to getting to know mine. Loving the fabric.
